God took me out of the church for three years. What do you think about this? The pulpits are full of unsaved pastors and false teachers today.

Catherine:

You said that God said "I will send you a pastor after my own heart"

Be careful, because that can work both ways:
2 Timothy 4:3
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears,"

So if you find a preacher who tells you just what you want to hear, is that God's voice, or your own?

Catherine:

Beware of an attitude of "thank you God that I am more righteous than these other sinners". This can very easily lead to pride, presumption, and complacency.

Do I think that I spend more time than the average person contemplating spiritual matters? probably.
But do I think that makes me more righteous than others? No.
---StrongAxe on 1/31/08

John only one in one hundred preachers are saved. And yes I am more righteous than most because most are going to end up in Hell. And yes I am too good to alow false preachers or anyone else to teach me because God is doing a most WONDERFUL JOB. And Yes God took me out of church now it has been not three years but six years. I please God not man. RUN from false preachers is also scripture. You are a hypocrite.
---catherine on 1/31/08

God did no such thing. You mean to say you're the most righteous person in your area and no one has the authority to teach you anything and you're too good for joining in to praise and worship with other believers? My, you must be a great specimen of faith, hope, and love. God says not to foresake the assembling together. That's not just for your good but for what you may have to offer others. Go for them if you are so holy. They need you.

Since giving my life back to the Lord I have been through the same thing. I was out for two years. I was not really happy not having a church home. I was like a wanderer just moving from church to church. No pastor. No leadership. Just on my own.I do not feel this is the will of God. Usually our focus is all wrong. We need to take our concerns, hurts or disappointments to the Lord and seek revelation on these issues. God bless you angel.

There are false teachers and there probably are some unsaved pastors.

Sorry, I guess I shoud have explained a little more about the cardboard figures. The evangelist arrived only to find out that there was only one person present. The person who wanted to hear him so bad, she made cardboard figures so she wouldn't be the only one and he would stay.

**WHEN GOD'S SPIRIT COMES UPON ME I AM GOING to preach. **

The real question is: is it God's Spirit that's coming upon you?
---Jack on 1/16/07

God took you out of church and Bible College. I guess he figures you are the only one who knows the truth, so you don't need to listen to anyone else. Is that the case?
---Susie on 1/16/07

FAYE--WELL, I guess you told me. WHEN GOD'S SPIRIT COMES UPON ME I AM GOING to preach. PRAISING GOD, is also involved. I do not go to the phone, I GO to the throne.
---CATHERINE on 1/16/07

Did Jesus preach to cardboard when He began His ministry? He launched out into the deep waters.
Staying home, preaching to cardboard reminds me of when I was a kid. I played school with stuffed toys. (I did their papers and graded them). But that was when I was a child. God's Church and cardboard people are two different things.
---Charlie on 1/16/07

**HE also took me out of BIBLE COLLEGE. WOW.**

I'd be curious to hear the Bible College's version of this story.

I wonder if it would match yours.
---Jack on 1/16/07

Catherine, I listened to a mighty preacher, showing many signs and miracles, who began preaching to cardboard figures sitting in chairs. I don't know what part of the country you are in but you need to get some advice from an annointed person of God. If you don't know anyone e-mail me and I will give you a phone number.
---faye4464 on 1/16/07

WE all need to study scripture in light of other scriptures. AND also remember we have two obedience. 1 the word of GOD and 2- GOD directly.
---CATHERINE on 1/15/07

FRANK, YOU ARE ONE intelligent person.AT least you talk like a true believer. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO STUDY SCRIPTURES IN LIGHT of other scriptures.I THINK that you do.
---CATHERINE on 1/15/07

Some of those Churches in Revelation where horrible but there was no instruction for anyone to leave them. They were told to hold fast, do good works, and to repent but not to leave the Church. Show me instruction that anyone is exempt from assembling. I can understand that some assemblies are better than others but I don't believe there are none worthy to attend.

GOD TOOK ME OUT OF THE CHURCH FOR THREE YEARS. PLEASE do not give the devil credit for this. DANGEROUS WATERS. AND get this, HE also took me out of BIBLE COLLEGE. WOW.
---CATHERINE on 1/15/07

The example was faith and not an apostate church! Furthermore, maybe Jesus would have passed them by if one didn't have enough faith to step out TOWARDS HIM. The hypocrits here are as the boisterous winds that took Peter's focus off the Lord. A bunch that go with the majority, which, by the way, Jesus always LEFT to teach his disciples in private. The remnant. Not the multitude.

Catherine is not alone. Millions of people all over the world are staying out of church. They have all kinds of excuses. Many of them who I have met say they had a "problem" with the last church or pastor or someone in the church. Then when they move on to another church, they have another "problem" there. So, just who has the problem????

WHEN GOD SAID to me I AM going to let you have your own church, well, I started prophetizing, you might call it practicing my gift. I really do know that it was all GOD'S WILL. usually I had a way to go to church. I hope that I spelled that big word right.
---CATHERINE on 1/15/07

I don't care if your a pastor or you claim to be the holiest person here. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CONDEM HER! Oh, that will get her back in church. WRONG!
I call people like this...HYPOCHRISTIANS.
Catherine, I'll be praying for you, that God will direct you to the church that HE wants you to attend.
I believe Jesus Himself would rebuke some of you.
I'm out of here!
---Paul on 1/15/07

At first I thought about some here..Why don't you stone her? You need to be humbled, and unless YOU repent, God will humble YOU, not her.
---Jess on 1/15/07

**It takes more faith to step out and trust God to lead you to the right church than stay and be damned with false teaching. Peter was the only one that stepped out of the boat in faith.**

There's no way you can get by logic from "leaving an apostate Church" to Peter stepping out of the boat. As I recall he started sinking, and got BACK into the boat with Jesus Who was headed there.

The rest of them just waited on the Lord.

Catherine, are you saying you did not have a way to get to church? Is there a church of your faith closer to you? Also, I don't understand what you mean by, "I started preaching to these walls." Do you mean the walls of your home? The "walls" of this website? God loves you! We all love you! We are brothers and sisters in Christ. I am SURE he will open the door for you in a loving fellowship, church home. God bless.
---Pat on 1/15/07

**I find it hard to believe that God would direct you to go against His Word, which says we should be in fellowship with the body of believers.**

To say nothing about her presuming to decide which ministers are "saved" and which are not, which boils down to a woman presuming to exercise spiritual authority over men, contrary to the Bible.
---Jack on 1/15/07

**I STARTED PREACHING TO THESE WALLS.**

Raving (which is the technical name for this activity) is not a sign of good mental or spiritual health.
---Jack on 1/15/07

The word also says come out from among them which includes churches preaching false doctrine. There are times and seasons for all things. That includes times to leave a church that isn't teaching the truth. It takes more faith to step out and trust God to lead you to the right church than stay and be damned with false teaching. Peter was the only one that stepped out of the boat in faith. And he was the one that was saved when out there alone. Those who stayed in the boat showed little faith.

I will now tell you how GOD took me out of the church. WHEN I could not find a way to go, I felt I was letting GOD down. HE, told me to pipe down, I am going to let you have your own church.I STARTED PREACHING TO THESE WALLS.**

And how many of your walls have been saved as a result of your preaching?

As I said, you are suffering from TERRIBLE spiritual delusion, Catherine.

You'd better repent, and soon.
---Jack on 1/15/07

"If you were in a church that was limited by doctrines of man or preaching contrary to the word of God you may very well have been told to move on." ---I agree, Nothings worse than sitting in a dead church, you are better off fellowshipping with a few of your brothers and sisters in the Lord(in Spirit and in Truth) [at home] rather than being in a church that isn't led of the Holy Spirit. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 1/15/07

Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Pretty tough to do that alone. I have yet to see God instruct someone to go against the clear teaching of His word.
---Bruce5656 on 1/15/07

Catherine;
If you were in a church that was limited by doctrines of man or preaching contrary to the word of God you may very well have been told to move on. God honours diligence and faith and will allow some to stay where they feel comfortable. Many have been told to move on. Abraham was one of them!

EVERYTIME I thought that I might go to a church, perhaps, from someone asking me to go, GOD SHOWED ME A SCRIPTURE THAT SAIDS, I will send you a pastor after my own heart. so that, was that.

Catherine : I say this in the love and compassion of Christ .The God which is our heavely Father can and will not tell you to not go to church for three years because it would be against His word . The small god ,which is Satan has mislead you.I love you enough to tell you the truth .Pastor danny
---Pastor_Danny on 1/14/07

If God took you out of church, then there is probably nothing we should be thinking about as it will add nothing valuable nor will anybody benefit from it. But may be YOU took yourself out of church...
---pkay on 1/14/07

Catherine, I have been out of church for about 2 years myself, for just about the same reasons that you have.
I really sense that I will attend church again because I hunger for fellowship with other believers in Christ. I am still very close to the Lord, and I still follow His teachings that apply to my life. I also still read God's Word and witness when I'm led to, by the Holy Spirit. Once your Born Again you don't just lose it.
God bless you and me with our future with Christ.
---John on 1/14/07

God taking you out of church doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but thankfully it's none of my concern.

If it is as you say, that the leadership is apostate, God would often use an individual to inspire and revive as he always works through a remnant.

If that's not the case the Holy Spirit would lead you away from such a church, but to a new one. It's not God's desire for us to be away from his people.

Are you sure that God took you out of all churches or the one you were just attending? Just because it is a church, it doesn't mean it is holy and it also doesn't mean that God abides there. Not all pulpits are full of sinners. Mine isn't. I would really seek God on this, because he don't want you (or anyone) just to stay home from church.
---Rebecca_D on 1/14/07

I think you need help.

God says not to pull away from other Christians for a very good reason. We can become unbalanced in our thinking. Your desire to get rid of pastors, frankly, reveals thinking that is on the edge. It's not normal. You need help. And I hope you don't have a violent nature.
