Pray for the Lord to open doors to conversation about spiritual things. The Lord will make it clear when it is time.

Mima: I don't count the number of friends saved because I don't think that numbers matter to the Lord. He cares about my heart, and am I living a faithful life, obeying the two greatest commandments: Love God and love my neighbor.

It depence on the conviction of the Holy Spirit to the soul winner or on friendship of the person or it can be at the same time.Bec. their are things that it is easy to share salvation when in times of difficult situation in Life.

Our job as Christians is to spread the Gospel, the Good News, to feed the poor, to clothe the naked, to heal the sick, to do things greater than what Jesus did without compensation. We set an example for others to open their hearts to the Gospel. We then allow the Holy Spirit to finish the job, to grow the vine. We then stay in contact to encourage the growth of the vine, to nurture the vine as the apostles did.

No initial friendship needed.

To all those who believe friendship salvation is the way to go I would ask, how are things going hon many people are being saved by your friendship salvation plan? Perhaps you should re-examine what you're doing to win other to the Lord.

I think you should start witnessing immediately, while developing the friendship. It is important to show your concern for people by declaring the truth, and striving to "serve" them in any manner compatable to the Word of God. It has been said, " People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." Make friends, but don't wait for the friendship to develop.

Leslie: Please tell me what verses you are using to support your thesis that friendship evangelism is unBiblical? I have never heard of such a thing in my life. You really come up with some doozies.

There is no set amount of time... just until that person and you are on a level where you and they are comfortable enough to talk about personal things. For some it will take longer than others... just be patient and rely on the Holy Spirit to be your guide.

If you truly care about people's eternal souls, then friendship evangelism IS unBiblical. It does not matter how long or short of time you know the person, and are friends with them, there will never be a perfect time to tell them about Jesus, other than NOW. Tell people about Jesus, whether you know them and are friends with them or not. This is a true indicator of whether you truly care for people and their eternity.

Wait before witnessing? Why not just witness to them when you first meet them?
