Has anyone made or bought Gospel tracts to hand out? Do you think it is a good way to witness? Is handing out 50 Gospel tracts better than witnessing to one stranger?

I've done both. Handing out Gospel tracts is a great way to start conversations and get in trouble. LOL. I wouldn't say one is better than the other. Some people don't want to talk but they don't mind reading. Do both and you get the best response.

diana, what other tracts do you have, I would be interested in them myself as well, thanks ahead of time also..mary4964

The written gospel, whether a tract or Bible verses, and the spoken gospel in person, can both lead a person to Christ; as well as gospel movies and music.
---Eloy on 2/1/07

I say both r useful and both gets u 2witness also and can reap good results. Those who r against such ways of evangelism r not blessed with this talent of witnessing.God gave us all different talents. Jesus was with thieves, etc so why not. I witnessed in a pub once and the result, he bought some books off me on the gospel of Jesus Christ etc .. Go for it. Praise God u have courage n confidence in Him just as some of us have.I love this way of evangelising. u get 2 meet heaps of interesting people.

Matthews....I think "R" misunderstood. You didn't mean for us to print out gospel tracts for you, did you? I do know that gospel tracts are a very effective witnessing tool. We have had good results from them. It is important to put a church address on the back of them so that the person will have a church contact.

And if I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come again,

and receive you unto Myself;

that where I am, there ye may be also.

They said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all they house shall be saved.

Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

If it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither,
but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring
forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I like tracts from Ray Comfort of Living Waters Ministry. They are creative and good ice breakers. Some of them are like puzzles and brain teasers, and then on the back they have the gospel.

Chick Tracks? Are they still around? Some people collect them, they represent tho lowest common denominator of protestantism in America. They are debased and insulting as religious broadcasting-but I admit, they are funny.

Surely both have their purpose. Tracts and witnessing one to one can both be used with strangers and those we know personally. We need to use discretion as to which is best with each individual, no matter which category they fall into. Tracts and other Christian literature can also be left on the seats or tables of public transport. They might get swept up with the trash but God might guide them into a specific pair of hands.

1. Matthew; Friday night while sitting at my grandson's ballgame the following conversation took place between me and a young man 30 years old who was sitting by me. (Me) how would you like for me to prove to you that you can go to heaven? (Him) well that would be great, think you can ?(Me) well let's see, three different times in the Bible we find the following statement." Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved".
---Mima on 1/28/07

2 (me) do you understand that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and he became a flesh man, borned of a virgin, and he died on the cross for your sins and mine?(Him) yes I've heard that.(me)Well in order to call on the Lord Jesus Christ do you want to pray with me?(Him) yes I want to call.(Me) okay follow me in this prayer. Lord Jesus thank you for coming in my life please forgive me and my sins and save my soul I receive you now as my personal savior.
---Mima on 1/28/07

3 (me) okay we are finished with the prayer, now I want to prove to you that you're going to heaven.(Him) all right I'm listening.(me) now did I hear you call on the name of the Lord to save your soul?(him) yes you did.(Me) all right we both heard you call and the Bible says whosoever calls shall be saved, so under these conditions only one of two things can possibly be true this time. Either you are saved right now and forever or God lied three times in the holy Bible!! Which do you think is true?

4 slowly big tears came in the man's eyes. And he says, I must be saved according to the Bible. We both sit quietly, then he begins to get happy, he begins to reach and touch my arm and shoulder and tries to hug me, and says over and over again thank you thank you.(me)did I show you how to be saved? Did you do with the Bible says to do? What do you think?
---Mima on 1/28/07

5- well Matthew there's the story. This story was repeated with another older lady at the same ballgame with the same results. And this story has been being repeated over and over and over again for the last 20 years. Have I ever passed out tracks? I have but seldom with any tangible results. Do I get turned down? Yes about 20% of the time. So here in a Little story is the answer to your question. Nothing absolutely nothing equals one on one soulwinning.
---Mima on 1/28/07

It depends. If the people in the church doesn't pressure anyone to "join" their church. Some churches don't care if the people are right with God or not, they care more about how many members they have and how much money they give. But if the people in the church are serious about soul winning, and are serious with God, they should hand out tracks. Not about what all the church has but about God and how they believe what is to be true.

Chick tracts as well as way of the mater has some really wonderful tracts that i think are the best to use to open the door to witnessing. If we will just let the Holy Spirit lead us, then He will prepare us and the people, that He wants us to talk to, then we dont have to be concerned if, its a tract we give them, or us talking to them, one on one. But, we must not quench the spirit, for He works in many ways and not just one or 2...His ways are higher than ours!

There are many sources where they can be acquired. Their effectively is questionable for non Christians. When people pass them out indiscriminately all to often they end up as a litter problem. If distributed tastefully they sometimes can be a useful tool for initial candidate contact. They are a reasonable useful tool for new Christians and seekers, dependent of Track subject content.

That's like asking, "Do you want fries with that?" Tracts are part of witnessing that continues the work even after you've left. They can also get where you can't. In a public rest room (Who doesn't want something in the porcelain library!), cereal aisles with the coupons, etc. Don't forget some sort of contact information on the back. People need to know where to get more information.
---Ed on 1/27/07

Both are important. Only God knows how many people will pick up the tracts. A sister in the Lord kept the tract she was given before she got saved. It was John 3:16.
