Personally, if a child or a babe in Christ asks me to pray for their pet I would rather have the humility to do so for their sake than to get arogant and start spouting scripture to risk hurting them.
Each case should be individually handled.
Praying that a race horse will win is another matter. If their horse can't win, get another horse or a real job and work for a living.

If the question were silly the answer should be silly to.Why would you pray for a horse cat dog cow snake or any animal? We pray for people and each other because we are made in the image and likeness of God with a soul.what does the word say He man had dominion over them.PRAY ALL YOU WANT BUT IT IS GOD WHO EXERCISES HIS WILL TO ANSWER THE PLEA.

I have prayed that God would make my pickup run out on a lonesome highway. It was chug-a-lugging up hills. Low on fuel. I made it.
(200 horses under the hood).

Hi Lisas; loved your response--soooo beautifully put! :) God bless you dear; I totally agree with you, personally. :)

Lorra8574, You sound angry, child. I's all right to love non Catholic Christians. We don't bite. We love the Lord and believe it or not we are commanded to love everyone.
---John6747 on 2/14/07

Lorra8574 - I am sure nobody here has ever said that it is wrong to pray for a loved one. We all want to pray for our loved ones. The problem comes in when the RCs here try to claim it is ok to pray to and for the dead, and that includes Mary who is dead. That is not Biblical and God says to not do it. We should pray to the Lord Jesus for our loved ones who are still alive.
---Helen_5378 on 2/14/07

I get it! This a Catholic blog now. I wonder if the horse was Catholic. Sounds like it, he didn't get it either. Watch, those Catholics. They try and infect Christianity with their Pagan views, and now their trying it again. They still believe in altars, and the "Sacrafice of the Mass". It's the infecting of Christianity, that's the issue with them, and this should get any true Christian angry. Now I will expose them.
---Phil_W on 2/14/07

lorra8574, Now why did you have to go and start your Catholic issue here? It was not called for and you are way out of line. I wouldn't become a Catholic if you gave me all the money in the world. It surely is not the way to go for the whole truth.
---Gordon on 2/14/07

Catholic, I'll tell you about Catholic. That church ushers more people into hell than any so called Christian religion. I will never go back to the Catholic church!
ps. Thought this was a horse issue.
---Tracy on 2/14/07

Lorra8574, What's ironic, is that your putting the cart before the horse. I would rather pray for a sick horse, than a dead person, which is fruitless. Go and study the countless errors that your Catholic church has made. Get a life.
---Becky on 2/14/07

Tap, loved your reply. LOL.
Lorra, tisk, tisk.

I believe we should love our dogs, cats, and many times horses. Just because people care for them, does not make it wrong. When I heard of Barbaro, I too began to root for him. I was so sorry he had to break down. It wasn't his fault people used him the way he did. They only thought of money when they bought him but no thought about what would happen if he got hurt. He did and many were pulling for him, not because he was a race horse but becuase we cared as human beings for a life.
---Lisas on 2/14/07

2. These people that owned him realize how important his life was and decided to spend the money to save him. He survival became more important then racing, at least for a while. We sometimes don't realize how important a life is until something happens. As Christians we care for the pain that people or animals go through. If we spend enough time helping humans we would be such a great class of Christains.
---Lisas on 2/14/07

I wonder how many Protestants would consider praying for this horse, yet would condemn a Catholic for praying for a human loved one. It is very ironic.
---lorra8574 on 2/13/07

I heard they are bringing him back by popular demand. He is being stuffed right now by the same dudes that stuffed Trigger. They must be old now. I wanted to stuff my mother-in-law, but she's already 12 sizes too big already. Maybe we'll invite her for thanksgiving and put her next to the turkey so she'll blend in.

Elder, He isn't the only one that is doing this. You know the bible has alot of scriptures, and besides that, God really is not impress with people on what they know or don't know. He is most impressed with how much time His people are spending with HIM, and yes, talking to Him and yes, listening to what He has to say, to His people. [PRIDE] God Hates.

Catherine, I posted because Eloy comes up with weird off the wall misapplications of Scripture time after time. This is no different. He has been setting himself up as an authority as if he knows what he is talking about. The majority of things he posts is so Unscriptual I wonder if he types in his sleep.
It is these falsehoods that we must clear up for the sake of the unlearned and new Christians here.
There is a "Mega Ton" danger in some of the things he says.
---Elder on 2/7/07

I noticed that the other day. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, I was afraid to. I am glad Elder, that you had the nerve to do it. referring [to animals and souls].
---catherine on 2/7/07

Eloy, would you show us in the Bible where animals have souls? That term is only applied to humans in Gen.
Is this something else that has been revealed to you by someone that no one else knows?
Folks, it is never wrong to express your heart to God about what ever you desire to. He loves you with a perfect love and He cares for the things that you care for.
---Elder on 2/7/07

Hi Ryan; thank you; I feel better now :) Oh, and I don't remember if I am the same Mary that thought you were arrogant--if I was, sorry--just expressing an opinion like the rest of us lol! :D I'm gonna check Isaiah 40 too--God bless and thank you for your help :)

Animals have souls too, and there are animals like lions in heaven also, all know and respect the Lord, and all are tame.
---Eloy on 2/1/07

AlanUKquent - Why would that be wrong? (horse race and cat show). I prayed once that the Lord would loosen my cat's jaws. He did and the bird she was holding in her mouth went free and flew away!
---Helen_5378 on 2/1/07

It is right to pray for an animal's health or freedom from pain, as Helen does for hers. But if we pray for the horse to win the next race, or the cat to win the cat show, that would be wrong
---alanUKquent64534 on 2/1/07

Mary, here you are my beloved sister in the Lord:

Ecc 3:19 For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same. As one dies so dies the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity.
Ecc 3:20 All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust.

Are youi the same Mary that thought I was arrogent when I posted something concerning Isaiah 40:17?

Hi Ryan; hope you see this :) I scanned through Ecclesiastes last night but can't quite figure out what you were talking about; can you show me please? :) Thanks--and no, I'm not a blonde lol :D
---Mary on 1/31/07

Thank you--I will look into Ecclesiastes and see what it says; I confess I'm shamefully ignorant on much of the Bible--I want to change so am praying God will indeed change me. :) Thank you and God bless you :)
---Mary on 1/30/07

I think the Alpo company was praying also.

Have you read Ecclesiasties?

I was saddened to hear of Barbaro being put down. It does not negate the loss of human life that occurs everyday. It just reminded me of when I had to put down my own dog and cat years ago.

There is nothing wrong with praying for God's will concerning animals in human care. Scripture says He is aware of when a sparrow falls. He cares about His creation, and we are the most important part of it to Him.
---Madison1101 on 1/29/07

Hi; it sure is sad; I pray for animals too and I hope the horse is being pampered now; not sure if there's animals in Heaven but I like to think so; we'll find out someday lol :) Rural Cafe, loved your "200 horses" comment--you are so funny! :D God bless :)
---Mary on 1/29/07

It is not wrong to pray for animals. I have prayed for mine many times, my little puppy in particular. She is as healthy as can be.

They had to put down Barbaro today. It is sad that such a beautiful animal had to die that way.
