Are People Made For Evil

Proverbs 16:4 in the KJV of the Bible says, The Lord hath made all things for Himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Am I correct in thinking that some people are born for the purpose of evil? If not, please help me to understand this verse.

Carol::God does not create evil people or sin we acquire thesein our walk from Birth to death.FYI God made You, to know him,to love him, to serve Him here on this earth, & be Happy with HIM forever in the next. That is the tag you come with what you do is your own responsibility by your earthly desires.

Carol: Very Good Question

In the context of Proverbs 16:4 we must emphasize the word (((things))). Notice he did not put human, but things. In the beginning of Creation there was the wicked serpent, or Satan who is also called Lucifer. There also was his fallen Angels or demons and principalities. Those of us who reject Christ and are joined to Satan and his demon, for all those, even God has prepared a time and a place where his wrath will be poured out.

Carole:His love we share in Christ "Is it not a fact that your Body is a temple of the Holy spirit"?The temple is like a sacred room,YOU fill it with what YOU think IS GOOD for you and your salvation with His love. The other things of this world do not enter this Holy Of Holies & has no place in your life.In Truth they are the idols of modern day living which we inadvertantly crave.Wealth greed lust anger.Give your heart to Him who waits patiently for your Knock .The Door will open.

I can see your misconception in reading this verse. Please see it better like this, "The Lord made all things for himself, even the day of evil for the wicked." In otherwords, those whom choose to be wicked will receive the day of evil, that is the judgment of eternal hell fire for the wicked.

Some parts of the bible can prove very confusing because of the deep poetic qualities they possess.
But here's a better translation (NIV)
Prov 16:4: "The LORD works out everything for his own ends even the wicked for a day of disaster."
Try to understand the verse as: God will be glorified in everything, even in the wickedness now on earth that seem to take His glory, He'll bring justice that will make up for it in the day of evil and destroy them in such a way that He should be feared

2) God does not make any person evil! Wicked people make that choice themselves. Don't listen to those theological lies of God making people evil against their own will
James 1:13: "When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone"

If you believe such theology, you will accuse God falsely of things He didn't do and reduce His righteouseness to filthy rags that are comparable to man's rigtheousness.

greetings. There are many verses you will encounter that give God a poor rating in the moral department.Unlike the day in which your reference was written it is now realized by Jesus' revelation that he and his Father was no such person.Revelation is on going and will do so forever by those who bring fourth such.Man is an imperfect being.Man is born imperfect.Man Thinks for himself and is exposed to his enviroment to make wiser choises. That is why there is an ascention plan for mankind.

God made man, neither to damn him, nor to save him, but for his own glory. God made man upright, and he has made himself wicked. God may justly appoint him to damnation for his wickedness. "The day of evil", or "evil day", is the day of wrath and ruin, unto which wicked men are reserved by the appointment of God. This is true of wicked angels, wicked men, and particularly of that wicked one, the man of sin and son of perdition, antichrist.

Tara:: There are evil spirits every whare roaming the world seeking the Ruin of souls.Yes I agree, Even they tempted JESUS the trick is To say NO & they will never infect you, till you say YES so keep saying NO even if it looks rosy on the out side its poison inside.
---Emcee on 3/4/07

Man was created for the soul purpose to glorify God then sin entered. Everything that God creates is for God.[Wicked people He hath made for damnation.] Everything and every person God has power over, even the wicked. On Judgment Day, God's power will be display. All evil will be judged. [God's power]

It strikes me how little people know people. I really believe that jealousy plays a hugh roll. The ones that doesn't know God are busy putting down the few who is willing to put time, energy, into getting to know the Lord thy God.

Are we made for evil? Wicked people can be used by God for His glory. To me this is amazing. And it is funny, to me. Who are we, to look down on anyone, when each person on this earth, is being used by God in order to bring each other DOWN. We are nothing without God.

I think there are demon spirits every where. I am sure there are angels too. Surely the demon spirits have something to do with the evil that goes on in this world. Does anyone else on hear believe in demons? From what I understand they were cast out of heaven with Lucifer they are 1/3 of the angels right?

Sometimes you wander. Okey here goes. You know God is smart. He has made each one of us. And guess what, each one of us is for a purpose. If you are evil, God will use you for His glory. If you are good, God will use you for His glory.
---catherine on 2/23/07

i most certainly do not know everything! but i feel that we are put on this earth knowing right from wrong. which way we choose is on our own self.

We are put here, not to get rich, Not to glorify man or woman, not to have an easy life, not to have a big house or car, not to be of this world. BUT we are only put here, to Glorfify GOD.

I do not believe that people were born for the purpose of evil, but for the purpose of serving God. I do believe that the men and women of our society have been using certain men and women for evil purposes. Why do people use other people?

there is a scripture in peter i think which says that Christ desires that we should not all perish but turn to him.people are not made for evil because God loves us but the evil one who is in control of the world uses in the garden of eden abdicated his throne when he fell to the devils lies and since then, the evil one has used people to undermine the authority of God.

Every person is born with two paths to choose, and every moment is another chance to seek the Lord.

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus...

God loves sinners, if it weren't so he'd not of sought them out in his coming. God designs every life with a purpose and people can choose not to delight in it.
---Pharisee on 1/30/07

If that interpretation of that were true there is no reason to preach, teach and baptize.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [See Numbers 21:4-9]
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

What makes John 3:16 amazing to me is John 3:15; two verses in a row He promises eternal life to them who believe.

Some people are created retrobats to serve some predestined purpose in God's divine plan for Humankind.

Others are reprobate because they are the product of unsanctified sexual unions.

I struggle with this too but I have to believe what it says. I don't think that this is all there is to this. God does give everyone the chance to repent. He obviously knows the ones who won't and for sure will be fair with everyone even if that verse seems unfair.
---john on 1/30/07

We are ALL born sinners. Not one person is good in God's eyes. Only when we accept Jesus as Lord & Savior and repent of our sin, do we become righteous before God. Evil people are here to help us to become more like God, and get closer to Him. Their evil is compared to God's righteousness, so we want to follow God.

Sure they made the Hell's Angels and other rebel groups for the day of evil. They have even tried to force innocent people into evil via mind control and drugs of deception today. These hated anyone that was named after the Lord.

(i)God does not purpose any one to be born for evil or to later become wicked. That is a fate that the wicked one accepted after birth.

(ii)God is always chastening us, and the Lord has purposed all things for the good of his work. But if youre going to accept & do evil, you can be sure that God is going to use it for good, to all those who believe; and that does not mean good for the wicked doer. Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

(iii)Remember the storey of Jonah; how his evil disobedience proud heart did not want to warn the Nineveh's; which caused him to spend three days in the great fish's belly. But God use it for good, by showing all the men on that ship who the one and true God is. Jonah 1:16 Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.
