Idea Definitely Not My Own

In a different form a lady says this trying to describe the Holy Spirit."An urging which sort of goes against what I was thinking of doing...An idea that kind of 'pops' in that definitely was NOT my own!" From what she says can you judge her spirituality? Does she know the Holy Spirit?

Mima
We are not to judge, least we be judged! We are not to be questioning anyone spirituality or wondering if the Holy Spirit dwells with them. We are only to be listening for the Holy Spirit and do as the Spirit tells us. We are to only make righteous judgments; by speaking into all things that are against the word of God. If you do not know if it is the word of God, do not look to judge it. But do seek it out! By calling on the Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit definately works that way. Whenever I am about to do something I'm not sure of and a scripture pops up in my head directing me where I should go, I know it is the holy Spirit.

John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

There is only one way to judge someone and that is,Does the Holy Spirit live in them? And even the elect can be fooled, be careful.

"An urging...An idea that kind of 'pops' in that definitely was NOT my own!"

This is definition is as accurate as any.

"can you judge her spirituality?"

I would not even attempt to do so. Her spiritual life is between her & the Father.

"Does she know the Holy Spirit?"

She knows Him to be an inspirational force within her. If she know that the inspiration of God can not & will not conflict or oppose the written word, then yes, she does.

Mima ... Remember that words mean different things to different people.
& Who can say how the Holy Spirit works for different people, since we are all different and with different thought processes

Yes, very well put. I am a firm believer in keeping close communication with God on every issue. If I don't, I can easily slip into the flesh, and that will never WORK. I am not saying that I don't slip sometimes.

I'll never judge anything because she has to shine for herself.

Besides anybody can repeat something they read or heard someone else say.

If something comes to mind like that and scripture supports it perfectly I know it's from God; it's not the Christian alone who gets thoughts to do good from above, but only a Christian can tell absolutely and instantly if the thought was from God.

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
