You have to roll with it. A strong backbone is a necessity. Bless the Lord at all times. We're in the kitchen and the kettles are hot. It's not possible to have agreement and unity. Yep, I said this.
---Cindy on 2/24/08

I respect my fellow man's opinion.
But what I dont understand from a lot of people on these blogs is the FACT that they place their views and beliefs FIRST before the BIBLE.
Lets not forget that the BIBLE is the WORD of GOD!
GOD does not say 'let's make a deal'
GOD says "THIS IS THE DEAL!" My WORD!
The BIBLE!
All praise and glory belongs to our HEAVENLY FATHER, GOD!

Dave, as a Mormon, your views are skewed. Even when things are quoted verbatum, people still refute the word of God. When we read that, most of us assume you refer to the Bible, but you also include BoM, PGP, etc.

Likewise your views on the clergy are skewed. Ours are expected to be full time workers. That is what is behind Pastor Brad's comment on another blog.
---John_T on 3/6/07

Lisas: Even when things are quoted verbatum, people still refute the word of God. all men and women will be judged according to their works, that includes the just and the unjust, the righteous and the wicked. to say that the righteous will not be judged means God is not God and has deceived many because it states clearly in hundreds of scriptures that ALL men will be judged. I only use the KJV when I quote scriptures.
---Dave on 3/5/07

Dave, Amen, You are speaking Truth, You obviously understand that God is NO respecter of persons, and His Word always stands, but most will always go against His saving Word, bringing many down with them, those that foolishly resist His Truth. The rapture will come on them unawares, it will be horrifying when they find they have been left, will they decide to serve God in Spirit and in Truth then? Will they have that opportunity? Only time will tell. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 3/5/07

I just now received this from God. And He is saying, "That any big or small problems we may have in the mind is nothing more than bad habits." So see, there is nothing wrong with our minds at all. Only bad habits. Sorry, only Jesus can help. How long will it take? That depends on how long you have had those bad habits.

I believe sometimes, God limits our knowledge to keep one from getting into so much pride. And when we grow up a little WOW, He gives us more knowledge.

Very good Dave, keep on reading. This judgement is called "The Great white Throne of Judgement" This is the judgement of all none believers. Called by Jesus as "resurrection of Condemnation" John 5:29. They will be judge by their works for Christ is "Just" and He does not punish without cause. This books record every thought, word, and deed of sinful men- they report the evidence for eternal condemnation, (18:6,7).
---Lisas on 3/5/07

I came across many interesting scriptures last night for those who say works have no part in their salvation. The best one is in Revelations 20:12. "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God,and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their WORKS."
---Dave on 3/5/07

"And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away." Five possible rewards believer may earn===1-The incorruptible crown.==2-The crown of rejoicing==3-The crown of life.==4-The crown of righteousness==5-The crown of glory. It has been suggested that these "crowns" will be talents and abilities with which to glorify Christ.

I found this or should I say ChristiaNet found me just this past week for the first time, some how it just landed on my computer and I don't even know how it got here. But I commend the founder they have done an excellent job, it can be very addictive. I love the "FEEDS" like "In a multitude of counselors, wisdom is found" here is where this happens, ChristiaNet I have never even seen a blog ever this is new to me but I highly recommend it.

THE RELIABILITY OF THE BIBLE Since cults do not believe the Bible is fully trustworthy, you may encounter some trouble using the Bible. But you should never stop using the Bible, simply because of their unbelief. In spite of their unbelief, the Bible is still the word of God; and it is true (John 17:17) and reliable (Isaiah 40:3). Remember, the word of God contains wisdom unto salvation, and thoroughly equips Gods people for every good work (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
---Hammond on 3/4/07

Because so many Bible passages are distorted by the teachings of cults, we will only be able to look at a few of the more common distortions.

Salvation by works
The Two Sticks of Ezekiel
The "Other Sheep" in America
Three Heavens
Baptism for the Dead
Eternal marriage
Archaeological evidence for the claims made regarding Jesus' visit to the Americas
---Hammond on 3/4/07

Sometimes it is God's will for His people to suffer. How come? God told me, "It keeps you in prayer." He said to Paul my grace is sufficent and God said the exact words to Catherine. "My Grace is sufficent," How anyone makes it without God I don't know. It seems like some people live a lfe without Jesus and they are doing pretty good. Their end won't be.

Why does the world use that expression, "My friend", so much today. You know they don't mean it. I saw an interview on TV recently about that convicted murderer, " The Ice Man", and that was his favorite saying. I hate it. Don't call me your friend unless I know you personally and you really are a friend.

I was reading an interesting scripture tonight in Jude. It states in verses 17-18: "But, beloved, remember ye the words, which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts." how very true. all we need to do is read the various blogs written on a multitude of subjects.

The Bible clearly states that it is impossible to please God if you don't have FAITH!
We should all pray to God that he give us the knowledge to understand his Word (bible). We must have Faith that God will give us clarity and understanding- that we may continue to spread the Gospel to unbelievers! And guide them in the right direction- towards salvation! God bless!

We should ALL bow down and ask the Living God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- to give us knowledge in regards to his word! (Bible).
Failure to ask God for knowledge in the name of Jesus Christ, will lead to poor understanding of the Bible. Stop following Man and Follow the Living God! Our God! wow, way to go Bob, Catherine. many people love to argue and say they are right and everyone else is wrong. we need to remember that Jesus Christ is the Savior of everyone. we choose what we believe. We are the ones who will have to stand in front of God to account for our lives. No one else can do that. through prayer, reading the scriptures, we develop our faith in God, not man. we let our light shine for others to see. God knows our hearts and if we love Him or the world more.

I do find it interesting when bloggers are confronted, others come to their defense. When the conflict is over, the 'confronted' then attacks their defense team.

Will the defense team continue to defend them? Or will it be every man/woman for themselves. I do think some reject all others in agreement with them.

Then there are the territorial disputes. Those groups unite in force to show their teeth.

All of us who are roaming 'Christianet' have obviously read the Bible and believe in God.
Even though there are many views and interpretations of the bible, thus creating different religions, it is important that we learn the true teaching of the Word!
I for one am a Christian and believe that my interpretation is correct. Does this mean my view is the true interpretation? NO!
If we want Salvation, it is important that we pray to God for knowledge and wisdom in regards to his Word (bible).

"if people followed Jesus Christ with all their hearts every day. they would not do drugs, commit adultery, date married women, steal, argue over scripture" HEY DAVE, who is judging who ?
---sue on 2/8/07

Paul wrote that it is needful for heresies to manifest those who are approved. There should be no ego contests. When people share their view the Spirit of God will manifest who is commended and who is not. The spirit and teaching of man will justify what is not. In the end some may learn and some will be strengthened in that which is wrong. Of course the Lord will sort it out at the judgment seat. In the meanwhile He should be feared, loved, and shown to others by the scriptures.

MikeM; I agree with you in what you are trying to convey. It would seem that you are being misunderstood. To me,
Scripture quotes mean very little unless the whole context of scripture is understood. In reading the bible as a whole it is easy to see a divine direction that God moves in which is missed a misunderstood be so many. With out this understanding, any doctrine or religion can be supported with scriptural backing

Deputy; "When PEOPLE use SCRIPTURE and not OPINION, it means they are FOLLOWING the WORDS, TEACHINGS and COMMANDS of GOD!"

Those who supported slavery quoted lots of scripture, as did those against it.
Thats why today we have northern Baptist, and southern Baptist.

Good or bad people have used scripture throughout history to fulfill their own agendas, sometimes noble ones, and often evil agendas. In the end it was all too human.
---MikeM on 2/4/07

Brother MikeM.
I beg to differ on your opinion.
First of ALL, the Word (BIBLE) of GOD is exactly just that - The Word of GOD!
If EVIL people over the years have used the scriptures for their own EVIL plans, I'm pretty sure GOD has delt with them now that they are in the spiritual realm (death).
By going directly by the book (bible) and quoting its content, you do away with opinion and preach Truth, Word of GOD!
The bible is ALIVE because it is still unraveling (prophecies) to this day!

I refrain from quoting scripture as it is self-serving. One can quote a few verses to establish and promote anything. "The devil quotes scripture for his own purposes"-William Shakespeare

When burning, torturing people the inquisters quoted, used scripture to back up their acts, so did 1000 dictaters, tyrannts, slaveowners, and other demoagogues throughout history.

Quoting scripture does not always make you right.

Pat; What you just described is the transition from teen age to adulthood!
---1st_cliff on 2/3/07

When I was a Catholic growing up, I was told that the Catholic religion was the only way to God, even my mother told me this, and I always trusted and loved her very much. When I questioned it, I was told that we must not question the Catholic church. Even when I reached adulthood, same thing, "Don't ask". Since then I got saved, and now I know that Jesus is the only way. I'm not blaming mom or the one's that told me this. This is what they have been taught for generations and they didn't know.
---Jake on 2/3/07

Catherine
(HERE is the bottom line. PEOPLE, you are not to use the word of GOD to try and prove how smart you are, to win a point, TO DEBATE, one up on someone.)

Your comment makes no sense!

When PEOPLE use SCRIPTURE and not OPINION, it means they are FOLLOWING the WORDS, TEACHINGS and COMMANDS of GOD! Not their own Views or Believes.

Using scripture to make points shows OBEDIENCE and COMPLIANCE which give GOD the GLORY! And not one's self!

The third man was taken behind the curtain. Looking around, he suddenly fell to his knees and asked for forgiveness from Jesus Christ, whom he saw standing in front of him. The others asked why the man was weeping. The answer was simple. They had lived according to the world. The third man lived his life in harmony with Jesus Christ. He saw the Savior within himself. To know how we are living, we need to look into the mirror at our own souls, not the outward appearance which is deceiving to others.
---Dave on 2/3/07

I responded to some of the blogs and now I regret it. I enjoy discussing the word of God in love and in search of the truth but it seems that many want to argue. I felt my temper flare when I was responded to with arguements that I know are false and now I feel that I can't respond because it would be out of anger. We should bear each others burdens and love and pray for each other but a lot of what I have read is judgemental and in hopes of winning an arguement. Does anyone else feel this way?
---tradedfate on 2/3/07

I would like to share a story God inspired me to write. It is called "The Mirror" Three men were sitting in a small room after they died. Seeing a man approaching, they were invited one at a time to accompany him behind a curtain. The first man looked around and only saw his own reflection and accomplishments he achieved over his life. The second man was taken behind the curtain and he saw his own reflection but those he had hurt during his life.

That is the beauty of asking questions. That is why Jesus Christ wants us to be like little children--Teachable. When we do not understand something, we ask those that know the answers. Glorifying Jesus Christ and trying to live in His image should be the goal of everyone. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I do not know everything and I thank others for explaining bible verses. I then pray about it and if I know what was said is true, it helps me every day to help others.
