My Wife Without Good Sense

In one translation of Proverbs 19:14 it says, "...but a wife with good sense comes from the LORD." Some, not using their common sense, find wives w/ not so good sense. Comments? Opinion? Experience?

Rickey, Shouldn't you be saying..."Lucy..where are you?.." Sorry I just couldn't help myself. Seriously,I guess it boils down to praying for her and hanging tough for better or worse. Maybe try to see the humor in it all. You must have seen something worthwhile in the beginning. Possibly focus on her good points and let the mistakes fall into the forgiveness catagory. Many blessings.

When we make uninformed and quick lustful decisions about men/women, that decision usually fades quickly. Lust never lasts. Love does. The pretty young blond you ditched your faithful wife for, will ditch the old goat, sooner than later. We make the wrong choices based on our lustful and evil desires.

This statement is also true with women finding husbands. Often a woman sees the man she wants and doesn't think about whether or not it is what God would want. Everytime that has happened, the woman has not used good sense and it has ended in catastrophe.

Just saying that good sense comes from the Lord and women who are not christians will not have such good sense.

jesus said, come to me all who are heavy laiden and I willgive you rest.theres no rest in following the world.the flesh will never let you rest.the rest that some speak of here is the rest that jesus gives of the spirit, the rest that controls the and thinking in the flesh gives no rest or common sense.if you want rest and wisdom then put your cares upon jesus, live and grow to be more like him.then you will have peace, and the sense to love everyone because we are all Gods children.

If common sense is so common, why do so few have it!

Yeah, Donna, I've been busy w/ school. I am wrapping up. I'll be done in December. I laugh at this verse because it is so simple, but folks complicate using common sense so much. Instead of getting married & settling for God's best, folks settle for the rest. In doing so they get no rest. Some figure that they can change the person. My bro. said it best, "I'm me. I'm gonna be me & no one can change me."

The only One Who can change us is God. He doesn't do it in the sense of taking away "you" & your personallity. He just perfects it.(Ephesians 2:10)

The seniors in my family have a way of "enlighting" the younger folk about "common sense" and the lack thereof. One doesn't need man's degrees to have common [godly] sense, but it would be nice if it were in more abundance then man's degrees(Colossians 2:3,4,8). God Bless!

Rickey, I miss you. Haven't seen you around lately. Pray for wives who don't have good sense. It doesn't come automatically. "If any of you lack wisdom, ask for it." ASK Father God to give your wife good sense. By good sense, do you mean wisdom? It comes through prayer to Father God and HE gives you and a woman wisdom. How did Solomon get it? By asking for it. Ask and it SHALL be given to you. Seek and you SHALL find. There goes that SHALL word again. You SHALL receive it.
