Satan lost all of his authority, all of it.

Jesus Christ says, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Jesus is seated at the right hand of God.

For those claiming to have seen Jesus Christ face to face, Jesus has not returned to earth yet.

Oh NO! Satan can do nothing unless God allows it. Satan's power next to God's power is like an ant under an elephant's hoof. Satan is not equal to God. Satan is a creative being. God the Creator.>>>God allows Satan to do what he does for a whole lot of reasons. Which, I for one, have a difficult time grasping.

How else are you going to know that you are victorious, an overcomer, and more than a conqueror if your faith is not tested? When you are able to say "No" to sin and to temptation, then you should be edified and know that you are stronger than anything the tempter, deceiver and destroyer can produce to come against you with.
---Eloy on 4/18/08

catherine, that's not true.
God is no respector of persons.
God's eyes run to and fro across the entire world. So he's not only looking at believers but unbelievers, as well.
God rains on the just and unjust, the rain falls equally.
God wants the wicked as well as those who know His voice.

God does permit satan to do whatever satan does. The main question I have is WHY? We have enough trouble making the right decisions on our own, let alone when we are being tempted.
---grayson on 7/2/07

Thank you Catherine and Fritz, great answer. We need to put Satan where he belongs and that is to take him off the throne as God and put him where he belongs, with all other of God's creation. Mighty he might be but nothing close to God and a subject to God.
---Lisas on 3/3/07

I have said it before and I will say it again. SATAN has no authority except what God gives Him. He will allow the devil to go just so far and then it is STOP. This is for the believers. Now, there is evil in this world. God's eyes are not on the wicked but on His own people. Unbelievers can expect nothing from God. He gets angry at the wicked everyday. Good day to you.

Martin Luther called satan "God's devil." Satan is, in some way, God's servant. God uses him to his own ends according to the counsel of his will. Satan can do only what God allows him to do. Listen to this: When Jesus gave satan the command to "go away" after tempting him, could he have disobeyed Jesus? No!! That was a sovereign command.
---Fritz on 3/2/07

The only authority that Satan has is to Tempt. He even tempted Jesus 3 times, Yet even while He was Fasting & satan thought Vulnerable .So we also having in us the spirit of God will be tempted but we must not succomb, his power is only fateful if you agree & permit him entrance. This is where Judgements come in.

3. If I speak and write something, it is your responsibility to check each thing with the word of God. Paul does not say whatsoever apostles, evangelist, pastor's and teachers or bishops or ministers tell you is truth; That you are to believe. NO He says, "Prove all things." by the word of God. That is the principle laid down for all of us. Weight all in the balances of the Bible, Examine all by the light of the Bible, test all in the crucible of the Bible.
---Lisas on 3/2/07

2. Every Christian has a responsibility of right of private judgment, what I mean is that every Christian has the right to judge for himself by the Word of God, whether that which is put before us as religious truth, is God's truth, or not. That is absolutely needful for every Chritian who loves his soul and would not be deceived, to exercise that right, and discharge that duty to which we are called to do.

Actually Catherine there is only one god of this world, Satan. (2 Co. 4:4) There are those that are called gods, however they have no power. The term god denotes a given authority of a leader or commander. Satan is refer to by Jesus as the prince (first in rank or power) of this world. (Jn. 14:30). Understanding the term 'world' as it is used here is imperative. The 'world' refers to this system of things based on & dictated to by the perceptions of the senses. Cont.....

Satan initiated that system & controls it with complete authority. Those that conform to it, love it. The just shall set their course in life by faith. By faith we understand that after the resurrection of Jesus, in His own words, "all power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth". (Mt. 9:6) As pointed out earlier, Satan has no power over the believer except that which the believer gives him. We are more than conquers, given a victory that we did not have to fight for, simply embrace.

Satan, He has dominion over every unbeliever. One reason why, when a person gets saved, you just see things so differently. [You eyes are opened.]
---catherine on 3/1/07

The Bible clearly states that Satan has some dominion. I beleive when Satan does not ask God and acts of his own accord that Chaos exists. The Bible states that Satan turned in to an angel of light. I am certain that was done out of rebellion.

I refuse to believe someone who is always mocking and putting down other religions and people are saved. That are truly saved, that is. I refuse to believe that it is my Lord thy GOD. Perhaps, I am serving a different God. Could this be possible? We do have so many gods today, in this world.

Eloy - ("Catherine, there are a lot of lost people like helen mocking here") -- Watch what you say. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay. It is a very serious matter to say that somebody who is born-again and Spirit filled is lost. That is very heavy stuff. Repent.

Catherine, there are a lot of lost people like helen mocking here.
---Eloy on 2/22/07

John 1:21 "And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No."

Helen's right about one thing, a prophet won't feel the need to announce it before his critics, the power of his ministry will be his testimony. Not some big windpipe boasting of his position.

"The greatest among you shall be the servant of all."
---anonymous on 2/25/07

I do not beleive that God has given Satan all authority over the world. I beleive that Satan and his collegues have taken what does not belong to them today. I believe they have robbed and marred Saint's
and heirs of God which I believe has been done for centuries. I believe that when Satan acts/or steps out on his own authority that disaster occurs.

catherine said:Can you imagine this world if God wasn't in control of it.

If God is in control of everything that happens in this world, then how come he gave man a free will? In Deuteronomy he says, "Today I set before you death and life, choose life."
God gives man a free will, he doesn't control man. Man sends himself to hell through choosing to sin. Amen? "The wages of sin is death." If God was controlling this world, then He'd have to take away man's free will, right?

.donna, myself and others have seen God face to face. "And Iaacob called the name of the place Penuel: for I have seen God face to face, and yet survived is my life. Blessed they of clean heart: for they will see God. All things were given to me by the Father of me: and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does know anyone the Father, except the Son, and to whomever will the Son reveal." Genesis 32:30; Matthew 5:8; 11:27. Please read John 14:21,23; I Timothy 3:16; I John 3:6.

.helen, Eloy says, "Obey the 2nd Command, to Love your neighbor as yourself. You need to get saved from this sin: stop dissing God's children, and start edifying them."

catherine: You say: God will allow Satan to go just so far and then-- STOP

If this were true catherine, then how come we have murderers, drug addicts, sexual abuse of children? Why doesn't God stop the devil from doing these evil deeds? "He prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." Where is the scripture that says, "Then God STOPS him before it's too late." Where is that in scripture that God stops him?

catherine - no man has seen God face to face. Maybe you've seen Jesus face to face, but if you saw Father God face to face, your body would disintegrate because "no man has seen God and lived" because His glory would burn your body.
Second-God has given the believer authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions, it's up to us to use that authority to STOP the devil. Most don't use it, thus, he prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
---donna6598 on 2/22/07

Helen: I love you sister, but whom are we to judge if Eloy is a prophet of God or not? We don't know the man. And God calls prophets today just as he did in the past. If one listens closely, we too can hear and see the signs coming to pass.
---Rebecca_D on 2/22/07

HERE we go with the Mockers. We claim nothing. We only know what God tells us,-- YES, face to face.

Eloy - ("Being a prophet of the Most High God, at times I am able to hear the trumpet and the thundering of the sky rolling away from his coming") -- Oh yeah? Somebody who has to tell the whole world they are a prophet is not a prophet at all. When this happens, is Jesus about to come just for you or something equally as ridiculous?

Catherine, A big A-men to that. When we read the very end of the last book of the Bible, we see that God tells us, that WE WIN and satan loses. Hallelujah! Being a prophet of the Most High God, at times I am able to hear the trumpet and the thundering of the sky rolling away from his coming. Hallelujah! every day that passes brings us one day closer to the end. Praise God! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus in all your glory!
---Eloy on 2/22/07

Satan can do absolutely nothing without God's permission. His power is limited not GOD'S power. God is all powerful. God will allow Satan to go just so far and then-- STOP. We had better be glad. Can you imagine this world if God wasn't in control of it.Why God allows Satan so much room, is another whole subject. You know the scripture. [everything works out.]
---catherine on 2/22/07

The only power or authority Satan has, is what we give him. Take Job for instance. God let Satan take Job's family, animals, gave him lepersay, but not once did Job give in to Satan. He stood firm on God's word. Job prospered more in the end than he did in the beginning.
