Sometimes the baptism of the Holy Ghost does not come when one gets born again. In the bible Paul asked some people if they received the baptism of the Holy Ghost since they believed (converted) they have never heard such a thing. After they heard Paul, they believed and he laid hands upon them and they received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and they spoke in tongues. So this proves that a person doesn't get this baptism when first born again.

Continue to praise God for this wonderful gift. Stay close to God by staying in His Word. Speak everyday. Be sure you are in a good bible teaching church where you can exercise your gift. Stay on the Potter's wheel. He will keep moulding and shaping you into the person you need to be for God's glory. Praise God! Hallelujah!

I agree with Pastor Herb that at the moment of conversion, you recieve the Holy Spirit. I do not believe that you recieve Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit at some other time. But, I also do not believe that you have to speak in tongues to be saved. We are saved by GRACE through FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyway, Nate, welcome to the family.

And I recognise you here, by your Oneness holiness beliefs...

"He that is born of flesh is flesh. He that is born of spirit (born again) IS spirit and he that is joined to the Lord (this takes place by being baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit...ONE baptism) is one spirit WITH HIM. We live by the faith OF the Son of God.

Just rejoice. It is a gift, use it freely. The Lord knows how you should pray.
I have never heard it causing anyone to drink. Baptism has not made me perfect just closer to God. There is more 'I want to say power' but I don't know if that explains it. Maybe more passion. There are not many Pentecostal churches that are of the "frozen chosen".

Glad to hear you got saved. Baptism of the the HG happens at the moment of conversion. But if this baptism is with evidence of speaking in tongues you better seek some real help. We had drunk and his girlfriend come to our tent revival and he was speaking in tongues. My neighbor attends a tongue speaking church, he is always drinking beer.

If you received the HG with tongues then everyday pray in the Spirit-tongues,read your Bible,Praise God. Draw nearer to God by taking time to be alone just you and God,when you pray in the Spirit or with understanding you draw nearer. The more you study the Word you draw nearer, pray for the HG who is the Spirit of truth ,to lead you into all truth, for the Bible says the HG will teach you. Each day you walk in the Spirit you put away carnal things you draw nearer.

Fill yourself up with the Word of God. Memorize scripture's that speak to your heart. Read the Gospels and the Epistles. The Holy Spirit will bring to your rememberance all of the scripture you put inside of you. You will need it to speak over your life when you pray. Pray in tongues if you've rec'd the gift of tongues. Then worship in the Spirit like the Apostle Paul tells us. Do Spiritual things and you will never grieve the Holy Spirit of God.

Nate, one more thing. Once I rec'd the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I pursued the things of God with a passion. Meaning I read the word all the time, I went to every bible study, I sat next to the Pastor's wife to hear her pray in tongues and I went home and practiced mine that the HS gave to me. Pursue God with all of your heart and He will respond to you beautifully. He loves you with an everlasting love. He is gentle and Humble in heart. The anointing from the Holy one will teach you all things.

Go to a spirit filled church that believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit if you don't already go to one.

Praise the Lord, Nate. Congratulations! God has made you a new creature. Like the others, I would encourage you to learn how to fast and pray, read the word, and ask God to surround you with sisters and brothers in the Lord who have been blessed with the Holy Spirit and can help pray you through the difficult times. The best is yet to come!

All good advice so far: May I suggest that you praise the Lord at every opportunity over every condition that you might experience. Praise him for the big things and praise for the snowflakes. You have found the Pearl of great price!!!! O that the Lord would baptize more with his Holy Spirit!!!!!

Jude 20 & study the word.

Nate, Stay in the saving-Word(that being Jesus Christ the Righteous...*Rev.19:13*), continue to ABIDE in God's Truth, pray, fast,& live in the Word(stay on Fire for God), you will NEED to, for the enemy is working [over time], he will ROB you,if you [allow] him, So, don't allow him, stay rooted/grounded in the Word, don't give him "place"(Eph.4:27).Jesus says if you continue in Him/His Word, you will be safe(Jude1:24)(Rev.3:11)(Rev.12:11)(Rev.16:15).(John 8:31,32). God Bless!

That's wonderful. Just leave it up to God. He baptized you so He can give you further instruction. Get as much of God into you as you can. Just ask Him and listen. Meanwhile tell as many people about Him as you can. Hook up with others of your faith for encouragement.
