WEll, I think
I need a new perspective on this...I am struggling with my menopause only because
I am only 41 years old and it was brought on due to my having a full hysterectomy last year.I have been going through Psalm 119 when I think I feel an "eruption" on the verge of happening.....as for the bloating someone else wrote about...i am gaining weight, and I am not doing anything different.....

Only to anyone who happens to be around us when we get cranky and have hot flashes! :-)

Its called 'the change' for a reason, we are moving from one step in our lives to another, just as we did in puberty( Now THAT was a curse!). I had a 'forced menopause' when I had a total hysterectomy when I was in my 30's. Much debate on the subject, however I take Estrogen and have had no problems. No, not a curse, just a different step in our lives.

Ha Ha,There are some of we women who consider it a blessing,no more worry about having more babies, and other "woman's" problems each month. Life is all about change and we are to go with those changes in the most positive way possible. What we can't handle alone,Jesus helps us through. Menopause lasts a lot shorter time than the monthly blues and pain.

reminds me of the old archie bunker show. where edith went in the kitchen smiling ,and came out snarling like a lion, then went in snarling and came out like a lamb.first time archie was totally dumbfounded.its true , hey you guys are hard to figure when all your hormones are normal. not a slure ladies ,just a statement about the differences in the way men and women think, and interact.

I think aging in general is all part of the result of sin entering the picture. I doubt it very much that Eve would have gone through it if they hadn't sinned. It's now a natural happening to fallen man. Don't take it personal. God isn't picking on you. This is part of the package until we get our new bodies.

A Hormone shot once a month, that's my ticket to sanity!
( OK, no potshots about my 'sanity!')

Hehehehe!! :D Good point, Tom2; you just made my whole day--thanks brother! :D

hey ,it can be even a bigger problem for men.have you ever tried living with a man eating tiger?my dad told me when mom went thru it he slept with one eye open, and the key to the truck in his hand.

No, menopause is not a curse. God is a practical God. There is a time and season for everything. There is a season to bear children and a season to not bear children. Menopause is just God's way of bringing the season of childbearing to an end, because He knew that pregnancy and childbirth will be too taxing on a woman's body after a certain age.

Anyone else notice that the title says Is menopause a CAUSE (not curse). I thought that was rather funny. Menopause can be the cause of all sorts of problems for us women.
---Susie on 3/1/07

"Cause"---do you Mods STILL not have a spell check? Oy.

To me it is just part of life. Some women call it a blessing. I don't know yet, I'm not going through menopause. Give me a 5-10 years then I'll let you know. Ha, ha. To my mother-n-law it is. It its some women hard and others hardly at all. But the things that us women go through with starts with "MEN". MENopause, MENstrual cramps, etc.

Anybody who has trouble with hot flashes should try Omega 3-6-9. Every woman I know who takes it has been very happy with the results. I take one capsule three times a day. After trying to cut back to 2 capsules a day (to save money), that feeling of being too hot one minute and too cold the next, started to come back. I quickly went back to three capsules a day and have been fine ever since!

Wow what aquestion.
I would never consider menopause a curse. I had such a painful experience every month that when I had my first child at the age of 21, who weighed in at 9'3, I sat on the side of the bed swinging my legs. The nurses kept asking me if I felt the pains.
I never had hot flashes, and I am no more moody/crazy than I ever was.

I am very curious as to the reason you asked this question.

It could be. When God confronted Adam and Eve in the garden, after they ate the forbidden fruit, He told Eve that she would have pain in childbirth. That could include other issues concerning the female reproductive system.

Women today are much more blessed than years ago. We have so much medical technology available. If you are suffering from the symptoms of menopause, you may want to discuss it with your doctor.

I have a friend who knew she never wanted to get married, she was 35 years old when she prayed to the Lord and asked Him to give her an early menopause. LOL Why didn't I think of that?

HA! Thats funny. Sometimes I think it certainly feels like a curse when I'm so hot I have to go outside and stand in the snow with no coat just to cool off. Everybody else is freezing, I'm hot. But on the otherhand, when it's over, ahhhh, no more worries about the montly visit. AND no more worries about getting pregnant!
---sue on 2/28/07

40 years Donna...argh! Nah not that many years, 25 tops! If I had been able, I wouldn't have wanted to have children when I was in my 40's! By the time I would have had a grandchild, we'd both be in diapers!
---NVBarbara on 2/28/07

A Curse? Are you kidding? I'd call it a blessing! No more hassle trying to schedule holidays; skiing, hiking, back-counrty camping, mountain biking, etc., etc. without hassles; less purse luggage; no worries about what to wear; "fat" (bloated) days gone forever; no more doubled over in pain; no more worry about where the closest washroom is.....It's bliss!!

How so? How would you consider it a curse? I don't. We as women are given 30 to 40 years to populate and have children. Isn't that long enough?

I'm curious as to why you asked this question. Do you think it is? Because I don't think it is.
