I get a lot more done now than before. I'm more bold and joyful. And have a much stronger, personal relationship with the Lord.
---john on 4/10/08

Check your Bible context. Spirit Baptism is Salvation.
---faith on 7/17/07

John, I love your style too.++

Jesus and his Apostles didn't even enter ministry until the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It's sad to see many Christians who don't believe in this baptism despite the teachings and the evidence by examples all through the N.T.
I didn't believe in it either until it happened. It was like getting born again all over. Eyes and ears opened spiritually instead of physically.

Holy Spirit Baptism enables you to put off the old man and put on the new man with ease.
Without it, you struggle in your flesh to resist the temptation to sin.
With it, you will be convicted of wanting to dabble in witchcraft, still have your Lucky 'Charmed' show, witchcraft shows/books you need to be entertained.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit allows you to have the mind of Christ.
---Veronique on 7/14/07

Desire to read horoscopes and consider it oh so harmless, mixing good with evil, will be gone. There will be a noticeable change in your behavior.

Without it, you may struggle the rest of your life at putting down those cigarettes, all other vices you now consider just part of every day living - so fleshy, so fun and so at odds with the mind of Christ.
---Veronique on 7/14/07

Without it, you may struggle to get set free of all the ungodly habits that are destroying your temple.
With the Baptism, freedom comes. You are free of the chains of bondage that are still holding you back from going on with Jesus.
---Veronique on 7/14/07

With the Baptism, you will want to follow Jesus.
Without it, people will still see a very fleshy person saying Jesus, but whose actions are contrary to the Word of God.

Your walk will not line up with all of the talk.
And because of the that, the next time you stand up to sing the Lord's song, no one will take you seriously. Especially if they see cigarettes dangling from your lips in the parking lot or driving around town.

It's important to mention that the disciples mentioned in Acts:2:1 were still saved at the time they didn't have the Holy Ghost baptism. As for the apostles, before the Holy Spirit came on them they were still saved because they were in the faith. I just don't want people to think that you can't be saved if you aren't baptised by the Holy Ghost. Some people just feel too wierd about the gifts of the Spirit or don't even believe they exist and that keeps them from receiving the baptism.
---Matthew on 3/5/07

Catherine; maybe "we" as in "you" are confused. Because I am not confused. Everyone doesn't get baptised by the Holy Ghost. Some gets baptized by the Holy Ghost upon conversion or at their baptism. Others is later, like yourself. I haven't been baptized by the Holy Ghost, but I'm waiting and seeking God for that.
---Rebecca_D on 3/5/07

Correct me if I am wrond Rebecca D-- Mabe we are a bit confuse. When Jesus saved us we received Jesus inside in our spirit. Then later, Some gets baptised with the Holy Spirit which is so much fun when He floods us during praise and worship or simply communing with God. [comes upon us] Which for me it was a bit later. I don't believe I knew enough to even ask for it. God knows what we don't know, thank God.
---catherine on 3/5/07

Herb; in the bible, it was Paul whom asked certian dispciples have ye recieved the Holy Ghost since ye believed? they didn't know there was such a thing. They have already been baptized by John, but didn't recieve the baptism of the Holy Ghost. So Paul took them and baptized them and the Holy Ghost came upon them and they begin to speak in tongues and prophesied. there were 12 in all. Acts 19:1-7. Some can get the bapisim of the Holy Ghost at conversion but some doesn't. And the bible proved that.

Yes I was different the moment I got save, because that is when the Holy Spirit Baptized me so to speak, He filled me, he chanced me. This is what happens at the moment of conversion. You cannot get saved apart from the Holy Spirit. If you didn't get the Holy Spirit at conversion and got him latter, then you arn't saved. There is only one baptism of the Holy Spirit and that is at conversion, but there can be many filling.
---Rev_Herb on 3/4/07

If you think about technically you could get baptised by the holy spirit more than once, baptise means to saturate/soak/ be soo filled that you can hold any more...
We can be "saturated" in the holy spirit more than once...he renews us daily woohoo
---mark on 3/3/07

I got power to witness, teach, and pray. I am a really shy person and to think I could do any of these would be foolish. I can pray for over an hour at a time now because of the power of the Holy Spirit, where before I had a hard time praying 5 minutes.

Soon after being born-again I heard about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and decided I wanted it. So I received it by faith. I didn't sit around waiting for God to give it to me. I thanked Him for it and stepped out in faith believing He did. I didn't feel any different. I just asked for it and then started operating in it by my own decision. I once spent a 3 hour session just praying in tongues. That day God blessed me so mightily, I've never doubted tongues since.

---donna's statement about what the Holy Spirit does for a person are very correct.
---Mima on 3/2/07

Donna: God doesn't give this gift to anyone. Believe me it's not like I'm not trying. God's timing isn't my timing, so I wait upon him. You do understand that some people don't get baptized by the Holy Ghost when first saved don't you? I hope so.

#1 of 2 Lynn, I did a 140 degree change when I got Baptised in the Spirit. I was committing fornication and I stopped immediately. I kept hearing the Holy Spirit tell me, "Donna, I'm gentle and humble in heart." I know why He was telling me that. Also, everytime I went to mouth off to someone, I could feel the unction of the Holy Spirit saying, "don't say it."

#2 of 2 You will notice small and significant changes, just follow His leading, okay? Fill yourself with the word and the Holy Spirit will bring it to your rememberance. He will lead you and guide you (not force you) into all truth. Many folks think the Holy Spirit makes choices for us, but that would mean we don't have a free will to choose, we do. Choose truth. Choose Life. Choose to obey the word of God and you will always be blessed. You'll notice small changes at first, and significant ones too.

Rebecca sweetie, what are you waiting for? You are missing out on that "Holy Ghost and fire and it's keeping me alive," remember that song? I thought Jesus said, "you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you." Power to do what? To pray in the Spirit. To worship in the Spirit. To do Spiritual Warfare - for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds, amen? Luv you sis!

After being baptized with the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues my witnessing exploded. Before this happened I was working at witnessing, I was trying, and some were actually saved. However I did about as much crying as the ones being saved. Today I average somewhere between 75 and 85% of people who I witnessed to accepting the Lord Jesus Christ, in fact someone did last night in prison ministry.
---Mima on 3/1/07

I am different, than when I was saved. God is do much fun. Anyone can have this, Just ask Him. You are really, really, missing out. [Baptism of the Holy Spirit]. Only a fool would say there is no God. He's evil and He never does any good.

I haven't been baptized by the Holy Ghost, but I do know it changes one completely. And if one doesn't change and still remains the same, they didn't get baptized by the Holy Ghost to begin with.
