"and those who do works will be saved by works."
This praise seems to conflict with the Bible. Romans 3:20 says,
"Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

The sad thing is that there are many, many people who prefer evil to good, lies to the truth, lip service over real service, idols over God, television over the Bible, doubt over faith, and so on. Any one of those could leave you in eternal damnation. It is very simple really, you cannot love good (God) and evil (the world) at the same time.

God has a way of saving every person who is righteous regardless of their race or creed. God is bigger than religions of all kinds and atheism. Those who believe will be saved by faith, and those who do works will be saved by works. But some who believe and do evil works will find themselves placed with the goats not the sheep. It is what we do, not what words we utter that matters. God's plan is completely foolproof and all-inclusive. Nobody is left out except those who choose evil over good.

God will get your attention. If your sincere in your heart, then God will direct your attention to Acts 2 v's 37-41 in which Fulfills Matt 28 v's 19-20 & IS The Same Salvation Plan that Apostle Peter delivered to the Jewish people FIRST on the day of Pentecost. Later,Apostle Paul brought This Very Same Salvation Message to us gentiles, along with The Whole Lot of God's Word we should live up to.

It's God's preordained plan for your life.

(1)Alfred. You need to study Luther a little more. Luther's Works, 48:281-282 is stressing a point, in a shocking way, that your morality is not what maintains your salvation. It is the finished work of Christ. You are right in quoting scripture that says "...and few there be that find it" because so many are trying to find it (and maintain it) by their works. (Read Matthew 7:22-23)

It is that plan that will only be revealed when you are totally committed and then enlightened. Your difficulties will now be overcome. U have a very deep pain.

Sarah.. There's a lot of different views I have already seen answering your?
BUT GOD has only one plan, He planned salvation and HIS plan will come to pass.
IT IS to save a multitude of sinners whom Christ came and represented and substituted Himself, their sins laid to His charge, those whom He represented only and not the whole world some (lost people) would say not knowing the sacrifice nor GOD"S plan
Do you want too know more??

I posted a plan of Salvation a few weeks ago. It did not make it to the blog. Don't know why. It is very much needed here.
Basically it is asking Jesus to come into your heart and save you. Read Romans 10:9. Confess with your mouth. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and you shall be saved. It is a simple plan(instituted by God) where we give Jesus our hearts. Through sincere prayer we become born again or another name is: being saved.

How do these two statements go together?"Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."-- "God must first convict a person of their sins, then the person must ask God to forgive them and ask him into their heart, then they become saved. Don't forget about conviction."

According to some you go in front of the congregation and say "I accept Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior." That's it! Then go and sin boldly like Luther said. (Luther's Works, 48:281-282) I disagre and prefer to believe apostle John in 1John and enter the narrow way. "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:14

Hear (Rom.10:17); Believe (Heb11:6); Repent (Acts17:30-31); Confess (MAtt.10:31-32); Immersed (baptized) (Rom.6:3-4); Be faithful (Rev.2:10) The pattern throughout the New testament. Those who responded to this pattern were added to the church (the saved) (Acts2:41, 47). Very simple if man would open up to simplicity.

sarah, there are many good answers ,and all biblical ones. bottom line is the plan is gods plan, the answer is jesus.read john 3-16

My friend salvation is about healing, healing from God, that is why it is free, it is the final part for immortality, no man can do it only God, there is a scripture that says "work out your salvation with fear and trembling", it is first of all about taking up your cross, I know how to, not many others do if any, they give the resounding gong of scripture, but no life. You are looking for the answer of how to deny yourself and take up your cross, that is what you seek.

God must first convict a person of their sins, then the person must ask God to forgive them and ask him into their heart, then they become saved. Don't forget about conviction.

Salvation means total forgiveness of all your sin, the empowerment to live your life now to the fullest and the guarantee that when you die you will go to Heaven to live forever with the Lord Jesus Christ and God our heavenly Father.
Salvation is available to all but it is not automatic.
Four (4) things the Bible says you must know:
1. Romans 3:23
2. Romans 6;23
3. 1 John 1:9
4. Romans 10:13
You must confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ into your heart to be saved.

What did Adam and Eve, after their fall? They hided themselves for God. They separated themselves from God. They wanted to be like God and fell!! Sin = separation. We delivered ourselves and the whole world in Satans might, the might of darkness! Since the first sin, the Lord wants to save us out of the might of darkness. At least he sent His own Son, the only man who didn't allow to be tempted! Only in Jesus we are heir of the work Jesus did for us. We have a "LIVING MAN" now on God's throne!!
---Ernst3769 on 3/5/07|
the words plan of salvation are not in the KJV Bible, the word plan means to act, do or proceed all show work. Eph.2:8 says no work required for salvation. When I share salvation with others I use Lk. 23:40-43. It is knowing who He is and confessing that. Lord and Savior.

I believe this plan is best answered in 1 Timothy 2:3-6 where God says He wants ALL men to be saved, that IS His plan.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all menthe testimony given in its proper time.

alan_of_UK, I still don't think you are understanding me.
God has a plan for all, the plans for the Elect are just more desirable from our prospective, then God's the plans for the Non-elect.
---notlaw99 on 3/5/07|
Our First Priority is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. His House is to a House of Prayer for All Nations. THEN we are to make disciples, not just converts of All Nations.
For many, the Plan of salvation is misunderstood. Were not winning people to our [denominational] view point, but to the King, Lord, and Master. The Gospel of Salvation wins my lost soul to Christ. The Gospel of the Kingdom makes me a subject/disciple of the King of kings!
---Dr_David on 3/5/07|
So, notlaw, salvation is not God's preordained plan for all our lives.
That contradicts what you first said
---alan_of_UK on 3/5/07|
alan_of_UK, you are correct in God does do the choosing not man, but God has plans for all, in the later cases God plans for them are just not as desirable. God created Judas to do exactly what he did, God needed someone to betray Christ, it was all part of the plan.
---notlaw99 on 3/4/07|
I would understand the plan of salvation to be God's plan or means to save sinners from their sins, to bring them back into oneness with Himself, into harmony with the principle of love. The entire Bible is really a revelation of the plan in operation and of Satan's efforts to keep sinners from being saved by His cross. This plan is simply the revelation of love in relation to lost sinners, love in action in a world of sin.
---Wayne87 on 3/4/07|
Notlaw ... Sadly there are those who insist that God does not have plan of salvation for everyone's individual life.
Some say God only plans to save those He chooses.
But I beleive the "Plan of Salvation" is Christs Gift of Himself in our place.
It is aplan for the whole of mankind, but individuals have the right to accept it or rejecytit.
