Evolution In Schools
MikeM: "Evolution is in schools because science is in schools."
What, is evolution there to balance out the science, so when science is taught, equal time must be given to the other viewpoint of evolution? :P

"The US Constitution prohibits teaching the Bible as truth in public schools."
OK, *where* does the Constitution say such a thing? In fact, Madison1101 is talking nonsense, because when it was written, the Bible was used in the schools, e.g. the New England Primer.
Like most lefties, Madison1101 confuses the Constitution with activist judges' *distortions*, e.g. inventing an "emanation" upon a "penumbra" to *twist* the Constitution.

RitaH- you are right the teaching of evolution isn't a problem as long as it is taught as the hypothesis that it is. The problem occurs when activists use it to indoctrinate people,'against the knowledge of God' see 2 Co. 10:4,5.
Teachers must be able to show where it falls down & if they chose give evidence for Biblical creation.

There is nothing wrong with teaching the THEORY of evolution in schools. The problem is that it is usually taught as FACT. The educations authorities are quick to try to prevent Christianity being taught as 'THE' religion because they don't want children to be indoctrinated, but they have no qualms in indoctrinating children where evolution is concerned.

Evolution is in schools because science is in schools.
---MikeM on 1/2/08|
we allow it to be taught because most parents don't take the time to find out what their children are being taught. and the others just dont have a clue about their Creator and where they came from. shame on those that do not acknowledge God their Creator.

Like everything else, we as Christians don't come together in unity and take a stand on God's word like we should. So we let things continue. And besides, God is no longer wanted in schools, by alot of the people.

When I was in grade school, the science teachers tried to teach evolution to the class. And I got into trouble because I refused to believe in evolution and I believed in God. The teacher got mad because she couldn't find the answers I asked in her science books. And I found them in the bible.

Jim, you will know them by their fruit. many unbelievers feels that the believers are nuts. But nuts are nutty and good. Some fruit is sweet some sour.

Peter....Who are you my friend to say who is a christian and who is not?

The teaching of evolution is nothing compared to the latest craze: global warming. Schools around the country are making students, as well as parents in some cases, sit through Al Gore's propaganda "documentary". Schools must feel that kids don't have enough to worry about and consider it educational to frighten students with Gore's fantasy world.

It's a problem, yes, but most Americans are not Christians, so until they ARE Christians, we cannot force them to teach Christian things in our schools

**I beleive our laws regarding education need to be tightened and more attention on Christian truths**
But whose version of Christianity should be taught in public schools?
Pop-evangelical or REAL Christianity such as Orthodoxy?
---Jack on 3/14/07|
Junia: The US Constitution prohibits teaching the Bible as truth in public schools. As a public school teacher, I have never taught evolution as truth, but as a theory. I also have never taught the Bible. That is not what I get paid for.
The public school curricula is decided by the individual school boards with input from the state. If you have a problem with the curricula, contact your school board, and your state department of education.
---Madison1101 on 3/14/07|
I agree with you fully. Do we actually pay schools to teach our children this nonsense. Darwin has never even been proven right, it is all theories. But so many htings children are taught in school are only theories and have very little truth. We should plainly teach the Bible, it is the only true book.

The Evolutionary theory is responsible for brewing up millions of unbelievers! This concept which they call "REALITY", is responsible for ruling out the possiblity of the existence of God on countless of individuals!
I tell you what "REALITY" is- God Almighty!
He created everything in existence which means - REALITY! We did not Evolve from a stinking Monkey- which in itself is an insult to our Heavenly Creator! Ignorant men will have their judgment day!

Not sure why "we" allow our kids be taught evolution in schools. I beleive our laws regarding education need to be tightened and more attention on Christian truths
