We are to hang on until the end, through all trials and tribulations. We are to keep the faith, and contend for the faith (oppose false doctrines). We are to stay in the race to the finish, throw off any burdens that might hinder us. Even, if necessary, throw off our families. Get rid of anything we do not need. Put on the armour of Christ. Put on love. Give away our spare coat. What more do we need?

We, the body of Christ, are to persevere in the face of all opposition and ridicule. We are to fight the good fight and stay strong in the faith. No matter what circumstances we fall into we are to keep our minds focused on the Lord and be salt and light to the world.

Perseverance of the Saints means that since every Believer IN Christ is called to be a saint, there will be trials, tribulations, which will produce in us perseverance ( Rom 5:3 )( Eph 6:18 ) Brian 6933

In IPeter1:23,Christians are those "born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God".How we endure is sticking tough to our Faith and Beliefs, trusting in God's Path of Life. The True Brothers and sisters Christ holds dear, live not "earthly life for evil human desire, rather for the Will of God"-IPeter4:2

I believe it means to endure through hardship or trials; to "finish your course"; to not give in to false doctrines, and to hold firm to your faith in God despite inward and outward battles.

It is the P in TULIP theology, the 5 points of Calvinism.
It says that the elect WILL persevere in following Christ until death.
TULIP theology gets its name from the five main points of Calvinism:
T otal depravity of humanity
U nmerited election
L imited atonement (Christ died only for the elect)
I rresistible grace.
P erseverance of the saints.
(Calvin also did not believe that Christ died for ALL humans, but only for the elect.)
