Catherine. Amen to what you said. Our faith grows through obedience to God's laws, not breaking them. Satan smiles every time someone is mocked for standing up for what they believe. Jesus said, "Forbid them not if they are teaching others about His gospel." Many have devoted their lives to Jesus Christ in every church. It is wrong to think one is not a disciple of Christ because they do not believe as others do. We grow spiritually every day by living by example. There is only one Jesus Christ.

Speaking of the Ten Commandments---I can think of a lot of stuff that we ought to be getting rid of. Leave the Ten Commandments alone. what harm do they do? Tell me what has God ever done to you? Why get rid of something good? Besides, they are God's laws that He wrote. I know what the problem is, everybody is breaking them, So lets hide them. YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM GOD.

Meditate Thy word day and night and God leads the way to true spirituality. Have fellowship with one another to share the strength and worship God to the fullest.

When I was first saved, I read the bible, went to bible studies ect. BUT I needed more.I felt led to action, not just study.
For me personally, I find letting the Holy Spirit being my guide in life to be the greatest faith builder. HE tells me where and what to do/ say. Not by voice but by HIS desire. His love and uncontroled desire...

Theod3582
(i) Know that we have all been given the same measure of faith. Strength of faith is measured by our confidence (level of belief) in the word of God. It is our BELIEF in our faith in Christ (the word of God) which needs to be strengthened. We do this by walking in the word and recognizing the hand of God, and giving praise & glory to our Lord for all he has blessed us will. This builds our belief in Christ and increases our confidence which is our reward.

(ii) Remember King Davids battle with Goliath. How it was made known how Davids confidence in his faith was strengthened to stand before the giant in the name of the Lord. When in 1Sam17:37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

(iii)These events in Davids life strengthened his confidence in the word of God (where he put his faith) for the day of battle; for the Lord.

The bible describes how we can get more faith, "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' Romans 10:17 making it clear that the source and foundation of all faith is the Bible. The more we know about the bible, the more faith we can have. When faith has an article preceding it as in "the faith" it means "the statement of faith." Therefore to have correct faith, we must have an accurate statement of doctrinal faith.

b. The object of our faith is more important than the sincerity of our belief. The man who thinks he is right but is not sure may be far better off than the one who is sure but is absolutely wrong. The story of Paul is an example of the object of faith. When he met Christ on the Damascus road, he gained a living faith which changed what he believed and how he lived. His first faith was wrong. Now the object of his faith was Christ.
---frank on 3/24/07

C. So the strength of our faith is the object of our faith, Christ Jesus. And we strengthen our faith by knowing more about Christ in the bible.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Read your Bible thoroughly. Meditate on it's wisdom. Pray, praise and worship the Lord as much as possible. Ask the Lord to reveal His word to you and speak to you in it and also in dreams and visions. Spend time alone with Him.

Everytime God comes through for me in any kind of situation my faith strenghtens. Talking to Him and listening to Him does it. Laughing with God does it. Enjoying God is good. Run to Him when you need counseling, how you feel afterwards is just fantastic. Prayer keeps you strong also. Remembering pass times He has help you is good. Little by little your faith increases. We are not any of us giants in this. Takes time.

In Romans I learned that it is not the perfect faith that is required to justification, but the prevailing faith, the faith that has the upper hand of unbelief.

Faith is strengthen thru the works of faith. The work of faith is the implementation of faith thru words & actions that correspond to the confidence we profess to have in the Father, His Word & His principles. Faith grows as it is exercised & put into practice. A profession of faith without corresponding action is useless. Have faith in God, or the God kind of faith. Call those things that be not as though they were in accordance to & agreement with His Word. Faith is embraced by understanding.

To all men a measure is given, Rom.12:3 It is given by the Spirit as a gift,1Corth.12:9 and it is a fruit Gal.5:22. To get fruit you need the husbandman to tend to you by watering with the Word, Sonshine by His light revealing and Pruning. Pray He keep you faithful as He is.

Stand firm on God's word. It is hard to keep the faith when all hell is breaking lose around you. He never promised that our cross would not get heavy, or the hill wouldn't be hard to climb. When the enemy says give in, just hold on, for God will see you through.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Read your Bible. What ever you ask in my name..will be done for you. Pray for God to increase your faith. Start small and practice believing in thing you ask for that you can't see at the moment and thank God when it happens.

The Word says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. I read the Bible out loud to myself, which helps alot. Also, by going to Church, you can hear the Word of God being taught and preached. You can also do home Bible studies with Christian friends. You can also pray and ask God to increase your faith. God Bless.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So to increase or strengthen one's faith they need to be ever constant in the Word of God. Do word searches concerning your specific situation and see what God has to say about it. Then pray and ask Holy Spirit for assistance in that area. Keep your eyes on Jesus and not the situation.

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Feed yourself the word day and night. Buy teaching tapes that you trust the preacher. Go to bible studies that teach the word. Develop a good relationship with Jesus, ask Him questions, and allow Him to answer you through His word. When you go through a trial, stay close to Jesus and stay in the Word.

Also, when you do what the word says to do, and when you see the word of God becoming alive in you, and when you realize it's "sharper than any two edge sword", and when the word of God comes to pass in your life, you will strengthen your faith.

Maybe you should ask for personal testimonies? When I pray, I remind God what He said in His word. Example, "God you said, I am the Lord thy God who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way in which you should go," Please lead me to the right job for me (after going on 6 interviews). God just found me a very pretty condo to live in. I asked and He answered. "Ask and it SHALL be given to you," SEEK and you SHALL find...that word SHALL shows up alot in the bible.

Do something for God today, if you are filled with the Holy Spirit the scriptures will speak to you as Jesus said. Apart from subjecting yourself to preaching I don't know of too many things that build faith more than seeing his life taken up where ours once was. We as Christians have a responsibility to use his name in faith. At the name of Jesus people pray for the very first time, I was one of them who before that only used his name as a cuss word. Last, pray and ask God for something big and specific.
