Have You Healed The Sick

Besides the Christ, what man has healed the sick, raised the dead and fed multitudes with seemingly little? Do you know anyone who has done these things or greater as foretold in John 14:12?

The gift of faith is a greater measure of faith than a mustard seed - at a specific time, a specific place, for a specific purpose.

The individual with the gift of faith is empty of doubt, unbelief, and everything else that hinders faith.
As with all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the gift of faith is as the Holy Spirit wills.
---Bob on 10/28/07

Great things begin to happen when God imparts someone with the gift of faith.
But it's never belongs to a person, it's God's faith.

God's gift of faith can be imparted to someone at any time, operating with God's faith.
Daniel had the gift of faith when he was thrown into the lion's den.

Elijah received food by the gift of faith. People today with the gift of faith receive provision by the gift of faith. Not too many in US have to believe for their daily food, but some do.

The gift of faith
The working of miracles
The gift of healing

A healing is the removal of sicknesses or diseases in parts of the body.
Miracles are creative.
---Bob on 10/27/07

Only the Holy Spirit can heal the sick.
Never forget that all of the gifts belong to the Holy Spirit.
God may use humans to lay hands on the sick, but the only the Holy Spirit heals the sick.

The Lord used me for the first two things, but he has not used me to increase food yet. Yet he can whenever he wants to.
---Eloy on 10/27/07

Such miracles are commonplace in Orthodoxy.
---Jack on 10/26/07

Ok i think that God wants to take this generation christians and bring us back to the ancient path(this is how the apostles right after jesus was witnessing) the "supernatural" miracles healings etc... CAME AS A RESULT OF JUST GOING AND WANTING TO WITNESS TO OTHERS...actually once in corinth paul doesnt even give a good well thought out message he just does the supernatural...isnt that great

**When you are healed of your disability, I want to know. **

God has made His provision for me.
---Jack on 3/30/07

The question - do we know anyone who has done these things or greater as foretold?

I'm glad miracles are commonplace for you, Jack. When you are healed of your disability, I want to know.
We will not treat it glibbly.
---Shiela on 3/28/07

In Acts 28:8, Paul apparently goes into Publius, prays, lays his hands on him, and heals him.
---Linda on 3/28/07

Miracles being commonplace, as I said earlier, is NOT the same thing as miracles on demand, though the distinction might be too subtle for some people to get.
---Jack on 3/28/07

it is happening all the time. i have heard many stories about it from witnesses. i have met many people who prayed about sick people. what church do you attend to? it is still actual for God's children. Jesus is alive ! but the greatest things are ahead of us ! praise the Lord.

jesus is the one and only,
he healed my ill child after many operations,

Mark16:15-18 says ......we will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.I remember a time when i was really ill and was phyically alone. i read this scripture and told God that i believed and i was sick so i asked Him to fulfil this scripture. I lay my hands on my sick body and spoke His word and my healing and i was supernaturally healed. Another day i was expecting and cooked for four guests, 14 came, God multiplied the food and everyone had enough. They didn't know but i did and glorified His name.

(Some of those posts were out of sequence).

The great men and women of God, throughout time, Old Testament and New; I do not know of anyone who has done anything greater than Jesus Christ.
---Rachel on 3/27/07

When Jesus said "greater things will you do" I believe He was speaking to believers, not a particular individual. We all have our part and not everyone is an evangelist or gifted in healing. These things are happening on a regular basis all over the world. As far as walking on water, no problem, we beat that by flying over it at 550 mph. while we're napping.

Thanks to all of you for your replies.

Didn't have room to post the whole scripture before, but here we go:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
---AlwaysOn on 3/27/07

Well it's like this---No miracles is little. Because I go, it will be certain that you will have such power. Because I go to the Father. I will be able to furnish you with such a power. Some miracles does seem greater than others . In what way, and to whom? Only to God's people and only by prayer.

When David became king of Israel, he remembered his keeper and covenant with Jonathan's house.

Jesus Christ is the Greatest Keeper.
The Holy Spirit is the Keeping Power of God.
With God as our Keeper, we can be strong.

AlwaysOn, I don't know if we will leave our boats and walk on water. But with God's Keeping Power, we do not have to be ordinary people.
---Rachel on 3/27/07

Ancient keepers had great significance in Israel's history.
Keepers of the city gate, king's forest, keepers of the tabernacle, door entry, sheep, vineyard, house...
Keepers were chosen for courage, integrity, trust, skill, and proven in adversity.
Keepers were armorbearers, protecting someone else's life.
Saul, Jonathan, and David - their lives were joined by keeping covenants.

David learned to honor his covenants by keeping his father's sheep.
David was Saul's keeper.
Jonathan was David's keeper.
Saul's bitterness and pride fractured the trio.
Jonathan loved Saul and David, and wanted them to be restored.
---Rachel on 3/27/07

Jonathan was caught in the middle of his best friend and father. He made his decisions based on the fact he was David's keeper.
When push came to shove, Jonathan kept his word.
This is real Christianity and a great miracle.

Jack; Are there hospitals, doctors funeral homes in "orthodoxy"?...........why?
---1st_cliff on 3/27/07

AO, I know you mean a 'man of today' who is in Christ.
I believe all of these events have happened over the last 2000 years.
I do not know of anyone in 2000+ years who can measure up to Jesus Christ.
I cannot think of one Christian performing miracles today or yesterday, that has surpassed Jesus Christ. None.

It's the Holy Spirit working through man that does the healing, so "man" has never healed anyone. God does everything by His Holy Spirit. "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord."
My mother got healed because I obeyed the word and asked a Pastor to do what it says in James Chapter 5. Do what the word says to do, and your healing will come quickly forth.

The greatest men on earth are shadows compared to Jesus Christ.

I believe Jesus is our best friend, and He gave us promises to bring out the best in you and me.
Jesus walks in when the rest of the world walks out.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 17:17
