My gift is teaching either by the word of God or in the circular world. I do practice this wonderful gift everyday of my life which God Himself gave it to me.I do have a lot but this is the one I treasured most. edna8476

To answer your question, the Spirit guides me each day. There are often situations in the day, when experiences will come twice. There are often indicators or signs that will initate a theme for day. It's like the Spirit is guiding me or showing the way, each day. I am blessed. Thank you for letting me share.

TS...The testing of the spirits in a church setting i think should really be done by the people w/ gift of disernment...i mean there are obvious signs if its from GOd or not...but the suttle ones need gift of disernment...all gifts work in unity to help the church...
all i'm saying is that the people who know that they have gift of disernment should really be workin hard in churhc

There are five gifts of the Spirit
Working of Miracles (1 Cor. 12:10, 28 - 29)
"Miracles" is the rendering of dynameis (power).
Gifts of Healing (1 Cor. 12:9, 28, 30)
Gifts of healing (Acts 5:15 - 16; James 5:14 - 15). "Gifts" indicates variety of both the sicknesses healed and the means used in the healings. The person who exercised the gift, and the patient who was healed, had one essential in common, faith in God.

The Gift of Helpers (1 Cor. 12:28)
Acts 20:35, Paul exhorts "to help the weak" , "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Concern for the needy.(Acts 6:1 - 6).

The Gift of Governments or Administration (1 Cor.12:28; Rom.12:8)
Gift of ruling or governing the local assembly of believers. This gift would take the form of sound advice and wise judgment in directing church affairs.
Practical matters in the conduct of public worship requires wisdom. Gift of ruling would be expected to legislate.
---Rachel on 4/21/07

The Gift of Faith (1 Cor. 12:9)
Strengthen the believers in faith, convince the unbelievers of the authenticity of the church's message. The Spirit's gift of faith could effect mighty things (Matt. 17:19 - 20), keep believers steadfast. These five spiritual gifts, the practical church life, physical well being of believers, and orderliness of worship and conduct.
The remainder of the gifts of the Spirit concern the ministry of the Word of God.

Gabrielle: That was very good :)

Reminding them always to test the Spirits...even those appearing to be tongues, against the Word.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to profit the Body ---not destroy and tear down.

Our hearts must not allow bitterness, unforgiveness, and pride to take root.
We must protect our hearts with all diligence for out of them flow the issues of life. Prov.4:23
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

We cannot force the gifts. Their source, the Holy Spirit - river of life that will flow out of our bellies. Jn. 7:37

The gifts of the Spirit are never to be used to manipulate lives or situations or with a motive of money behind them.
Beware that you don't follow Simon the sorcerer, Acts 8:9-20, or the seven sons of Sceva, Acts 19:13-14.

Give all the glory to Jesus Christ.
When God uses you in a powerful way, always give Him the glory.

Don't grieve Him by the things you say and do.
Keep a gentle spirit.
Avoid a critical spirit.
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

When the gifts of the Holy Spirit are displayed, they will be a sign to the unbeliever.
Always give an opportunity for the unsaved to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

Don't allow the false or flesh to muddy the waters.
The gifts are not to exalt ministers.
Make sure you know who is ministering to you, where they are from, and how they live; before you allow them to come into your churches and lay their hands on you.
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

Learning about the gifts from those who don't believe in them is the same as learning about Jesus Christ from those who don't believe in Him.
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

The Love of Jesus Christ and the Love of God must be the number one priority for the gifts of the Holy Spirit (nine) to be used.
The gifts are there to help people.
I must decrease and He must increase. Jn 3:30
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

Jesus Christ must be the center of our lives at all times. You cannot operate out of sin, or you will open yourself up to a familiar spirit and be led astray.
We must humble ourselves at all times to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the head of the Church.

The gifts have not passed away as some would teach. They were not just for the apostolic age, they are for now. The New Testament writers were full of the Holy Spirit. Do not be ashamed of the Holy Spirit, and He won't be ashamed of us.
---Gabrielle on 4/4/07

To deny the Love of Jesus Christ is to deny the Love of God.
This is not the same false love of the one world religion or new age teachings.
Some would teach that the Love of Jesus Christ is showing weakness, and out of the abundance of their hearts, mouths are speaking.

I have discerned some spirits, too, MARK.

Bob, Do you know how many typo's I have made since I've been on CN? Here are some common ones, there/their, lead/led, etc. and guess what, my Mom is a former teacher, Oh Well! Spell-check isn't ALWAYS the solution. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 3/29/07

I have been blessed with the gift of "discerning of spirits". I thank God for this and am more in love with the Giver than the gift. It is a very interesting gift (but then what from God isn't?) as the Spirit will show the very intent of the heart. My children find this unnerving at times.
---MARK on 3/29/07

BOB....LOL...Hey! That's a teacher that posted that answer. Scary ain't it!
