-UNFORGIVENESS is unforgivable. You don't forgive, neither will the Heavenly Father forgive you. My interpretation of this unforgiveness only deals in the particular area at issue. Doesn't mean that hard hearted person hadn't been born-again. It means that Christian needs to learn to forgive in a particular matter.
-There are varying interpretations on what exactly is blasphemy of the the Holy Spirit. On this matter I simply say, the word blasphemy means "speak negatively against" or "coming into opposition against with words". I don't choose to play the "Who's Going To Hell For Blasphemy" game concerning this particular matter. This tends to turn Jesus' words into something He may not have actually meant.

matt. mk. luke and jn dealt with the nation of Israel.
In this dispensation of the gospel of grace, there is one unpardonable sin, that is the sin of unbelief

Yes, some sins cannot be forgiven: Every sin that is not repented of is not forgiven, and blaspheming the Holy Spirit is not forgiven.
---Eloy on 3/4/11

well brother their is only one way to do this sin!If you witness a miracle in church and you know with out a doubt, this sin isnt doubting the mracle, its where you know with out a DOUBT,that this miracle is 100 percent real no excuses and for you to attribute this to satan instead of god that is blasheme!Either god will convict you to repent=regret change your mind,or he will depart from you for ever and put you in a reprobate mind where you wont care bout what you said and as a matter of fact you will remain believing this way!Because once the spirit leaves how can you repent its immpossible thats what makes it unforgivable

Here is the thing: IF someone says that the Bible IS the 'Word' of God, OR inspired by the Holy Spirit, and IF anything in it is not, then what they have done is call God and the Holy Spirit a liar. Jesus said He sowed truth (wheat) and Satan sowed lies (tares) and the New Testament is the field. Therefore, don't fool around with anyone's writings, dead or alive, other then the teachings of Jesus given to us by His eyewitnesses. (John 14:26)

Blasphemy agaisnt the Holy Ghost is an unforgiveable sin. To me this means saying that the miracles that God preforms comes from Satan. And that Satan done these miracles instead of God.
---Rebecca_D on 1/14/08

The H.G. is known as the bearer of all truth, the comforter. The H.G. bears witness to your soul the gospel and the commandments are true. you then mock that knowledge in defiance of God. you commit adultery, you murder someone, you abuse your families, knowing full well that those are wrong without a doubt. the spirit is grieved and cannot dwell in unclean temples. you have sinned against the Holy Ghost to turn against what you know is truth. we know when we are willingly rebelling against God.

We stay in prayer continuously asking God to help us and to please forgive us of our sins. There is only one sin God will not forgive, "Sinning against the Holy Spirit". Or hardness of heart. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is persistently to ignore or discredit His work in one's life. These people choose to reject Christ. Heart is dead to God. If you are concern there is still hope for you. Please have a pleasant night, folks.

Ashley, I agree that is one way to blaspheme, but there are other ways to. Remember what happened when Jesus said blasphemy of the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven? He said it when people accused Him of being possessed and having the Devil's power. This implies very greatly that a way to blaspheme is to call the work of the Spirit in ones life the work of the Devil. Remember, again, Jesus said these words to the people claiming he was using the Devil's power not saved people who didn't want to repent.

The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the holy spirit, it is unpardonable.

The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the holy spirit, it is unpardonable.
---anonymous on 5/22/07

TS, that is a false definition of the unforgivable sin. Defining the unforgivable sin as the one not repented of is false doctrine and teaching.

Forgiveness Quiz

22. There is a sin that cannot be forgiven.

The correct answer is True.

Matthew 12:31-32 - Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

John14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments and I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another COMFORTER, that HE may abide with you for ever; Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH; Whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth HIM not but ye know HIM for HE dwelleth with you and shall be in you.

Only the believer who Hears Him can Blaspheme Him by turning continually from the Truth HE is telling you to abide in.
---TS on 5/18/07

Rebecca is correct. I do agree fully. Calling God's Spirit unclean or blaspheming the Holy Ghost. Same difference.
---Robyn on 5/14/07

God wants to have a personal relationship with everyone. This is His highest goal. If a person denies His existence (the unpardonable sin) then what hope is there of achieving this goal? How can you have a relationship with somebody who doesn't even admit you exist. That is why there is only one unforgivable sin.

I would also like to add that it is not just a matter of casually dismissing God's existence. It is when the idea becomes deeply rooted in the heart/mind to the point of not even considering any change of belief. Atheists deny God's existence, but some do so out of not seeing Him. If God presented Himself then some atheists would change their minds. The ones which would still refuse are the ones eternally damned.
---Anthony on 5/14/07

Read Acts 5. These two people died in their sin. Any opportunity to repent was denied them by cutting short their lives.
---lorra8574 on 5/13/07

Judy: They can but they won't be forgiven by God. Because he tells us that all sin will be forgiven, except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. It won't be forgiven in this world or in the next world to come. Mt 12:31-32. Mk 3:28-29, This is the unpardonable sin. God gives second chances but this if one does blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, there is no second chance ever.
---Rebecca_D on 5/3/07

I would like to ask my fellow bloggers this question. Have you ever heard anyone "blasheme the Holy Ghost"? If so, what did they say?

Can a person who blasphemes the Holy Spirit of God,not repent and ask forgiveness?I think they can.God is a God of second chances.Perhaps the unforgiveable sin is the final end of life, deathbed rejection of the drawing of the Holy Spirit and the invitation to accept salvation. What do you think?
---Judy on 5/3/07

Well my friends there is an unpardonable Sin.>>>The awful warning Christ gave them. The language of free-thinking, if they persisted in it, would be of fatal consequence to them. It would be found a sin against the last remedy, and consequently Unpardonable, in that it was by the Holy Spirit that He cast out devils, and they said, it was by the unclean spirit.>>>I can testify to the fact that Jesus sometimes will pay you a visit and do these things.
---catherine on 4/16/07

Eloy, I looked at matt 12:31-32. where did you find that word. It has nothing to do with that scripture. To blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, you must know and accept Jesus is the Christ and then deny His teachings in your life. To deny scriptures that prove the gospel of Jesus Christ denies the Son of God. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot follow Jesus Christ and then indulge in the pleasures of the flesh or you are mocking Him. You are either for Him or against Him, there is no middle ground.
---ashley on 4/15/07

It is to speak evil of or to God, or evil of or to sacred persons or sacred things. I am commonly dissed or blasphemed by the unregenerate. "Therefore I say to you, all manner of sin and desecrating words will be forgiven to men, but the spirit of desecration will not be forgiven. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks a word against the Holy Ghost, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, neither in that to be." Mat.12:31,32.

It is having a spirit of desecration, which mockingly ascribes the works of the Holy Spirit to Satan. It is calling the good evil, the truth a lie, and the Holy unholy. When God's Spirit genuinely works through a person (as He did through Jesus' miracles), and then another person (like the Jewish Ministers and Teachers) disses it or disgraces it, that is blasphemy.

Matthew 12:24
24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
---Matthew on 4/15/07

I try not to read many of her teachings, because they are off. Some more than others. She doesn't take to correction at all, unteachable.
Jesus was not a religious fanatic or lunatic. He didn't throw His weight around, humiliate, hide behind corners, monikers and take potshots. He didn't monopolize conversations or demand center stage.
---Thomas on 4/15/07

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is the only unpardonable sin. He is known as the bearer of all truth, etc. When you receive a witness that something is true and then deny it, you are denying Jesus Christ himself.their is no forgiveness for that. to sin against the Holy Ghost is like looking at the sun and denying it exists. Many christians do that. They read a truth in the bible and deny it exists so they can continue following man and false doctrines. Even after it is proven in scripture to be true.

You are always talking about the Holy Ghost, putting more emphasis there than Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit does not draw attention to Himself, but actually points to Jesus. Do you understand that? Many charismatics have made the Holy Spirit a diety. This is cultish! BEWARE!
This will be the spirit of anti-christ coming with great signs and wonders!
---Chipper on 4/15/07

Any error of man shall be forgiven, however if anyone chooses to blatantly display a malicious lack of respect & reverence for the effectual operation of the Father's inspiration & empowerment in his life by attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to anything or anyone else, dishonors Him & negates His presence. That ones self-willed refusal to enter into his source of pardon & deliverance damns himself to the consequences of his actions & binds himself in his carnality for the duration of his life.
---joseph on 4/14/07

Blaspheming the Holy Ghost is the unpardonable sin. There a couple of ways to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. It is rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit in another's life or your own. You can as Rebecca said declare someones gifts are from the Devil when they are from the Holy Spirit. You can ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit in your own life. Claiming those who are Christians(and there fruits show it) are not in Christ abd are going to hell.
---Matthew on 4/14/07

these pasages refer to attirbuting the work done by the holy spirit as being done by satan, ergo blaspheming the holy spirit.
