Was USA Founded By Illuminati

I visited a church that claimed America was founded by the Illuminati and Freemasons all involved in a "Conspiracy" to create a New World Order' run by the Anti-Christ. Any truth to this?

Many of the founding Fathers were masons, held christian beliefs, and french humanist ideals all at the same time. I am thankful that the puritan's didn't rule, that the quaker's, the anabaptists, the anythings ruled. It was a huge comprimise. Each individual's adherence to the 10 C's.

Only 7 of the 56 signers were 'orthodox' Christians. Freemasonry and deism were a great influence. Most were also unitarian-meaning they rejected the Roman trinity, which Jefferson called 'gibberish.' "America is no way founded on the Christian faith"-John Adams.
Franklin, Thomas Paine were also deist. BTW Patrick Henry wanted a theocracy.

wayne:

James Madison was not the author of the Constitution. He had his opinions about the founding of the country. Others had theirs. Many of the founding fathers were Deists - they believed in an impersonal god who does not interfere directly with the lives of men.

Jefferson himself disbelieved in the miraculous, and cut them all out in his copy of the bible (Google "Jefferson Bible" for more details).

** So tell me Jack, what did they "really " believe? Was it something other than what they said?**

Well, for one, Thomas Jefferson said the doctrine of the Virgin Birth was as foolish as the pagan legend of Minerva coming full grown out of the head of Jupiter.

God told Jeremiah, "that everybody was out to get him".

Just because they're out to get you doesn't mean you're not paranoid.

Jack..pop-evangelical? I don't think Jesus would be welcome in some of these so called churches.

** Jack. Patrick Henry (founding father) said""It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ"**

Founding Fathers John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would disagree.

Many of the founding fathers would NOT be welcome to active membership in today's typical pop-evangelical church if it were known what they really believed about Jesus and salvation.

Jack. John Hay, the first supreme court justic said " Americans should select and perfer christians as their rulers"
52 of the 55 founders of the constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.
you want to talk about history? bring it on.

Jack. what country are you from? James Madison fourth president, stated "we have staked the whole political institutions upon the capacity of man kind for self government upon the capicity of each and all of us to govern ourselves to control ourselves to sustain ourselves according to the ten Commandments of God."
---wayne on 4/17/07

Catherine, I agree with you about prayer in schools, but who do we pray to now? Back in the 30's 40's and 50's this wasn't a problem to pray to the one true living God led by teachers. It wasn't mandated,It was our freedom to do so. Teachers don't do that now. It's all about wordly wisdom.

God alone has blessed this nation because it was founded by Christian men and women. The early pilgrims thanked God for a safe voyage. George Washington, Samuel Adams,Thomas Jefferson, and others guided us through independence and beginnings of a nation. Another note pay attention>>>"The Constitution [DOES NOT] require complete Separation of Church and State.

Instead of getting rid of the Ten Commandments lets get rid of the devil and everything that is in relationship with him. Bring back the Ten Commandments God wrote with His very own finger. Bring Prayers back in the schools and get rid of the devil. Stop trying to figure out what is Gov. and what is God. We need both, but we need God more.

Jack, why do constantly criticize people and their questions. Remember from whence you came, or were you born with complete knowledge? As to the question, there are many conspiracy theories on this. If you really want to know I would suggest asking God to guide you to the answer. His HS guides you into all truth.

**This country was founded by Christians, by the grace of God.**

Obviously, Wayne, you know precious little about American history or the religious beliefs of the Founders.
---Jack on 4/16/07

The conspiracy theory is one best left to others. However to say that the U.S. was established to be a Christian nation is simply untrue. The fact is that it offered "religious freedom" which meant that any religion (or no) religion could be practiced here. This is why today witchcraft is a legal religion. I wish that it had been founded as a Chrsitan nation, but unfortunately was not the case. In the U.S. you are free to worship the God of your choice... or no God at all.

don't visit that place again. This country was founded by Christians, by the grace of God.

I can move beyond the personal micro Issues,(family)and will stick to the macro, epistological issues. I admit a failing is to broad-brush, others should not do that. I respect American pluralism.

If there was such a conspiracy, it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to did it?
