Postmodern Church Apostasy

A friend asked me to do a study of the postmodern church, I did the study, took four days, and before I say anything else about the postmodern church I would like to hear from fellow bloggers concerning this. In other words what do you think about the postmodern church?

Is that another church buzzword?
Like church worldview?

I'm trying to keep my head in the Word, pray for others and stay next to Jesus.

the postmodern church is not apostate. it is a different view. Cultures change and as they do the church changes. there are very dedicated Christians in the postmodern churches. they differ from people in modern churches only in the details in which they find important. I would consider myself a postmodern Christian. I love Christ i serve Christ but I won't drag Christ through the mud by not loving people that Christ died for. instead we need to encourage them in the love and grace of God.

the post modern church embraces science, art and the culture and brings Christ into it, because it is Christ that brings meaning not the church.

AlanofUK - Read 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. God will eventually give people what they want if they refuse to follow the truth that is in His Word. Alan, God is love but He is also the righteous Judge. We must look at God for who He really is.

Ryan ... Who are the "them" (v 11) to whom the delusion is to be sent?
---alan_of_UK on 4/26/07

alan of uk, God speaks of sending a great delusion in II Thessalonians 2.

Why would God send delusions ... Does He want to destroys Christians by presenting them with false teaching?
Seems a bit unGod like to me.
There is joy in heaven when a sinner repents, but then God sends delusions turn uis away from the Truth?
God is Love?
I know Rev fortells it, but I find it difficult to reconcile this with a loving God

"postmodern" is a weak adjective to explain the residual leftover from the liberal ideology which infiltrated mainstream Christianity in the 1970's. I have no care for the modern nor postmodern churches, which are spiritually dead and mere synagogues of Satan, but I do have a care for the rare but true New Testament Jesus-centered Christian church of today.

Hi; perhaps I am naive or haven't been to enough churches, but I get so sick of hearing how today's churches are apostate! I have always been blessed with very very good ministers and church homes but I know not everyone has. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I think the majority of churches are just trying to do the right thing by God.

#1 Postmodern pseudo-christian theology is exactly what God said it would be. It is an apostasy from the truth of the word and it comes under the catagory of the great delusions that God promised He would send. The false teachings, belief that scripture is for personal interpretation and blending of ancient pagan beliefs is alive and well within catholicism and protestant denominations.

#2 There are scant true belivers in the Word of God in the post modern world. And the talking heads constantly take the Lords name in vain.
---Ryan_Z on 4/24/07

What on earth does "postmodern" mean?
---alan_of_UK on 4/24/07

What is it? I've haven't heard this. I'm not new to Christ, but I don't pay alot of attention to other religions.
