1. Mike (are you MikeM)? If so, you seem to have met an awful lot of lazy pastors in your walk through life. I know a lot of pastors, their wives and families and can say without one hint of exaggeration that I have never met a lazy pastor. There are not enough hours in the day or days in the week to squeeze in all that should be done. The lazy ones are often the members and elders.....

2. ....who request that certain things be done in a certain way and then back away when they see a need for their own personal involvement. They think the pastor should do it all. In answer to the original question my own involvement in Christian charity has been with the homeless, helping them find accommodation and all that they then need to put in their home. It can be physical hard work and much money has to be raised.

I've taken five MAF planes out into Amazon Jungle to go feed the lost tribal people suffering from deprivation and starvation, I assisted the Dr. Who flew out there with me, I cleansed their wounds, as the masses waited in long lines for there turns. keeping the ones who were dying of Malaria alive. I continue ministering to the poor, and winning souls to some of the same where I am now living, Just trying to follow in the footsteps of Christ as much as I know to do.

Christian charity is simply showing love to others, especially to the poor and needy.Doing some of the same works that Christ did. Since we are followers of Christ we should follow His example. I have worked with the homeless, nursing homes, hospitals, tract ministry, street witnessing, prayer ministry, outreach among other work. Soul winning for Christ. Just doing something nice for someone is godly, also. Giving someone a nice hot meal, giving clothes/shoes to the poor.

Charity is love Jesus said whenever u did it to the least of my brethren u did it to mE see matt.7.we should always be looking out to see who needs help or juist a hug or word of hope or encouragement,or even a silent companion in isn't about money that can be easy it is about loving and giving ourselves in the service of others threough the love of God in us,and we shouldnt always be aware of how much we give, uit should be aay of life, see a need and if poss meet that need.

Mima...LOL From your posts on other blogs, I know that the "treasure chest" is gonna be full when you get to heaven. God bless you and strengthen you as you witness for Jesus. You and my husband would make a good team.

When I help someone that really needs help. If I tell someone, I don't feel as though it is bragging on myself. I feel as though I'm bragging on what God has led me to do. And how he made me be able to help that person or those people. If a person goes around and says, Yeah I've done this, that and even this. And leaving it at that, and doesn't give God any glory. They are boasting on themsleves. If one tells what they've done for someone and give God the glory, that is not boasting in the least.

---Susie's statement keeps me from explaining what I've done for the Lord!!!

Christian charity is when you see a need and you meet it without hesitation. To talk about the charitable things a person has done would be inappropriate as we are to do these things unto the Lord. We don't need anyone to know what we do for the Lord and we shouldn't be bragging on ourselves if we are truly doing it for the Lord. Just remember this....If you see a need, do something about it. There are hungry people all around you. Hungry for food and the gospel.
