In Need Of Forgiveness

Galations 5:14 says For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. What do you need to ask forgiveness for?

I influenced a man to do something which made me gain $100 profit. I miss led this man knowingly, and without excuse.

As time passed this begin to bother me(Holy Spirit I would say, as I was saved at the time) and so one day I went to him and handed hima a $100 bill and before I could say anything he said to me I understand. And so the Lord has given me relief.
In reading your question I was reminded of this story.
---mima on 1/19/10

When you repent your sins to God you are forgiven! But, do you need to tell the person you've lied to that you lied and ask forgiveness from them too? Or do you just leave it alone. It's done, it's been years, and it didn't hurt anyone..
---bethany on 1/18/10

Cynthia, as a heads up, I think you are way too open with your personal business.
You need some personal boundaries, or risk coming across as a dingbat.
Futhermore, with children involved, and things so off the wall, don't write what you will regret. It cannot be erased.

We are all in need of forgiveness. Esspecially those who were given drugs of error and was forced to sin by the drug lord realm...Illegal drugs have played a role in the horror that has occurred today.
---anonymous on 5/22/07

There are legal cases where people who would not accept a pardon have been executed. If we do not realize and accept the fact that Jesus (GOD) has pardoned our sins, we will die. In dying (living in sin), we will (deny His word) die. There IS Power in the Blood (of Jesus). Asking forgiveness is accepting that pardon.
---mikefl on 5/19/07

When you come to the realization that something that you have done has hurt someone else whether intentional or not, it is time to reconcile with your brother/sister and God. This must be done in sincerity. If your brother/sister will not forgive the matter, you have completed your duty before the Lord and the ball is in their court to learn forgiveness. If their inability to forgive you is offensive to you, you must forgive them so as to not fall into sin yourself.

**The degree with which you accept the forgiveness provided by Jesus will determine how free you are.**

Mima, I'm not sure even you knows how deeply many Christians today are in want because of ignorance of this wonderful truth.
---Okebaram on 5/17/07

Mima,
Such a wonderful truth. I wish all here would believe it.
We are forgiven saints. The price has been paid. We are set free from sin.
---duane on 5/17/07

Matthew,
All Christians repent(turn from sin)as the Spirit within leads. We dont turn from sin to be forgiven,we ARE forgiven. We turn from sin because its in our nature to do so.
We have been born again
---duane on 5/17/07

The awesome truth is that you have been totally forgiven.(If Jesus paid for all your sins why are you trying to pay for your sins?) The degree with which you accept the forgiveness provided by Jesus will determine how free you are. The Bible says you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Question; do you know the truth?
---Mima on 5/16/07

Just because you ask God to forgive someone does not mean He will be forgiven by God. If the person you are asking God to forgive is an unbeliever he will not be forgiven unless this person gets saved and repents. Forgiving people for the wrong they do against you or whatever is more for the believer benefit than any thing else. It brings peace between the believer and God.
---catherine on 5/16/07

Since we are nearing the end times we are amidst the great falling away. How many self-proclaimed Christian do you think believe in Christ? I guarantee you most of them do. But only a few will make it. It's because most follow Gospels of men and not the the one true Gospel of Christ. The Gospel of Christ doesn't proclaim "you don't have to repent of your sins." The Gospel of Christ is ONLY for those who wish to accept repentance, not for those who want to sin.
---Matthew on 5/16/07

Legalism is any kind of work is necessary to go to heaven. This includes baptism, worshipping on Saturday, worshipping only in a building etc.

Until you can prove repentance is a work, repentance will remain a requirement for salvation. There is no repentance in commiting the same sin over and over again. Only the power of God through trust and faith in Christ can break the yoke of sin. As long as we believe we are going to sin no matter what we undermine God's power and never find freedom.
---Matthew on 5/16/07

*Paul very strongly reproved Peter for imposing Jewish rites on saved Gentiles.*

Paul was upset with people because they were pushing circumcision, sacrifice, unclean laws etc. Paul was two thumbs up for absataining from sin. Paul spoke FOR abstaining from sin in many passages. When Paul talked about works he wasn't talking about abstaining from sin. Please read (Ephesians 5)(1 Corinth 5)(Galations 5) He talked against sin and against works.
---Matthew on 5/16/07

Abstaining from sin is not works there is another word for abstaining from sin and it is called repentance. The Bible is quite clear that repentance is required for salvation. If you go back to the world and return to your vomit you will lose out.(2 Peter 2:20-22)
---Matthew on 5/16/07

Matthew, That's exactly right. You're too scared to let folks be free... free from legalism. Teaching that folks must work for their salvation or to maintain it is legalistic. Paul very strongly reproved Peter for imposing Jewish rites on saved Gentiles... You are doing much the same - imposing the law of works from the OT on folks who are completely covered by the blood of the Lamb. We do good works because he first loved us and we are grateful, not because we'll loose our salvation if we don't.

Jenny-"Jesus has authority to forgive sins"

Of course. He is God. His will is not apart from God's will. Two seperate persons yet they share the same will, desires, cares. Jesus asked God to forgive those who crucified them. You said God answered, "Yes." My question is, "how do you know that?" I don't believe Jesus will forgive when God wouldn't. I don't believe God would forgive where Jesus wouldn't.
---Matthew on 5/16/07

2)
I don't believe there is ever a moment in the universe where Jesus forgives you but God doesn't, and as a result you are forgiven anyway because Jesus forgave you....... Actually it's just another loophole. As I said before as long as people look for them they will find them.
---Matthew on 5/16/07

Jesus has authority to forgive sins

Luke 5:17-26 four men brought their paralysed friend to Jesus to be healed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralysed man "Man, your sins are forgiven you." 5:20 Some of those present began to reason "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" ...
---Jenny on 5/16/07

Jesus responded "... But that you might know the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins" - He said to the man who was paralysed "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house" Immediately he rose up before them ... and departed to his house.

When challenged why he ate with 'tax collectors and sinners',

LUKE 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

7:50 And He, JESUS said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

calhoon, you may be Big Dog of the Blogs, but you still need to repent of your sins.
I wonder why the OSAS are so concerned about the rest of us who do not believe the way you do. Why would you worry so? You don't have to read your bible, you don't have to do much of anything, really. It's a free ride. Why do the OSAS and You Can't Lose fiercely argue that we should follow false doctrine, too.

When you tell someone, don't waste your time there, so and so, I have watched those people disappear and fade completely away. Their views may not be your views, I don't care if someone was here from the start, if your teaching is false, I'm paying no heed. The false teachers are dominators here, have you noticed?

"...if you don't forgive men, then your Father won't forgive your transgressions" (Matt. 6:15).

Some think when Christ prayed from the cross, "Father, forgive them," He forgave apart from repentance.
But Jesus granted no one forgiveness by those words.
He was asking God to forgive. Did God answer?
Yes.

Matthew,
But Jesus is not the Father.
---calhoon on 5/16/07

You first said it was Jesus who wont forgive, now its your Father in heaven who wont forgive.

What's the difference? I believe Jesus is God Calhoon. Do you? If God forgave me then so did Jesus. If Jesus forgave me then so did God. They have the same will. What kind of arguement is this?
---Matthew on 5/15/07

*Since the bible wasn't originally written in English, that is an inappropriate question.*

It will remain an appropriate question until you know Hebrew. I don't look for foolish damnable loopholes in the Word. I take the word for what it says. If my God tells me "I won't forgive you unless you forgive others." I for one believe him. I don't look for loop holes or context arguements that are really manmade logical arguements with no spiritual backbone or truth behind them.
---Matthew on 5/15/07

Some of God's messages or exactly as he put them. People are just to scared to believe them.
When we are not lead by the Spirit we find ourselves running to books written by "teachers" instead of turning to God and asking for the REAL truth. For your information, very few know the real truth. The majority of the Chruch is apostate. The majority of self proclaimed Christians are going to hell.

As long as your are looking for loopholes you will find them. I know people that have an arguements for a huge nemuber of things. There is no hell, we are always saved, the JEWS will be saved anyway. Just because you can find a loophole doesn't make it true. The blind leading the blind will sound convincing. As long as we are looking for a truth that we FEEL and WANT to be right we will find death. The truth requires a humble heart. The unrepentant(don't repentant of their sins) are far from humble.
---Matthew on 5/15/07

Matthew, Since the bible wasn't originally written in English, that is an inappropriate question. Our need to forgive is for us, that we might know we're his. If we don't/won't forgive, we need to examine if we're saved at all. Unforgivenes is the way of the world and culture, is not to be our way. That's what that passage means. Context... context... context... The indication is that you aren't forgiving it's because you aren't forgiven.
---daphn8897 on 5/15/07

Duane::Jesus took upon himself the sins of Mankind for 2 Reasons IMHO. 1. To open the Gates of Heaven which were closed by God for Mans transgressions. That is why it is Stated "He decended to the dead"those locked out, all good people from the beginning in the OT.#2,To show us & the future of humanity that as a man we all could accomplish Heaven"By Following Him to perfection" as his heavenly father desired He warns us "Nothing defiled shall enter Heaven"part1

Jesus said these words...

Luke 6:37
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
---Matthew on 5/14/07

Matthew 6:15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

So am a liar for saying "Don't forgive and the Lord won't forgive you."? Only if Jesus himself lied.
---Matthew on 5/14/07

Calhoon-Jesus said, My Father wont forgive if we dont forgive others. BUT that was before the cross.

So was everything else Jeses taught. Are we to throw those out the window too? The statement it doesn't apply to us because it was before the Cross is a lie from the Devil himself. If this was a valid statement then EVERYTHING Jesus taught no longer needs to be followed. I follow scripures I don't twist them. I don't look for foolish excuses and loopholes. That is the Devil's playground.
---Matthew on 5/14/07

"Believe in Jesus and you will be saved" Jesus said many of times before the Cross. Are we to throw this out too? What we want the truth to be doesn't change what the truth is. Picking and choosing what we like and removing the rest leads to hell. Forgive and you will be forgiven he said before the Cross. He also said "Nothing can snatch them out of the hand" before the Cross too. Does your arguement work? No way it can. Unless we throw ALL of what Jesus said out the window.

Jesus took our transgressions upon Himself...He became sin for us.
Some Christians search the scriptures to try and prove we are still sinners in need of forgiveness. If that be true, then Christ died for nothing...very sad..
Are we saint or sinner??????
---duane on 5/14/07

Matthew, you lie...Jesus never said He would not forgive if we didnt forgive. He forgave the whole world from the cross.
Jesus said, My Father wont forgive if we dont forgive others. BUT that was before the cross.
DONT TWIST SCRIPTURES. Dont lie and sin.
---calhoon on 5/14/07

Calhoon-And dont lie about scripture. Your adding to it. (Jesus wont forgive, unless you forgive) That is the real sin.

But it is in the Bible. It can't be added when it is in the word. What you won't find in the word is "All your sins are automatically forgiven." Such a statement is an addition to the word PERIOD.

Mark 11:25

Calhoon you claim to believe what the Bible says is sin(Forgive and you will be forgiven) Claiming that instead we are automatically forgiven which is not in the Bible. It is Devil talk.
---Matthew on 5/13/07

I think you people distort scripture. (Jesus wont forgive you if you wont forgive)
Jesus forgave all at His death. Why did He die?
I guess to be forgiven, we have to live perfect lives. We wont need forgiveness then, as we would be perfect.
And dont lie about scripture. Your adding to it. (Jesus wont forgive, unless you forgive) That is the real sin.
---calhoon on 5/13/07

Why would any Christian have a need to be forgiven? Christians ARE forgiven.
There are no other kinds of Christians.
If your unforgiven, your not a Christian.

I do think some have revealed too much about themselves. Names, workplaces, everything but the street address.
If you have an employer and they know you're on here all the time, they can read every word you've said about your workplace. It's a good idea to save your personal details for your personal e-mails.
You wouldn't want to taint your professional reputations by revealing too much.
I've been able to put the pieces together by all the personal info. Employers can do it too.

When you throw in all the intimate details of your family life, that's above and beyond 'commonsense'.

calhoon>>>We must forgive others as God has forgiven us, that is in the Bible. You cannot go to the altar to God if there is any strife or bitterness toward someone. You have to stay in your seat. That is also in the Bible. Also it is a sin and sin will separate you from God. also in the Bible. And there are bunch of other scriptures. You certainly do not want to die in bitterness and unforgiveness. The bottom line is God won't hear your prayers.

If you done somebody wrong, you need to go to that person and ask for forgiveness. Until you do that, Jesus won't forgive you. The bible tells us that if he have an ought against our neighbor, we need to make things right with them before we do with God. Any person around you is your neighbor, wherever you may go. You should treat them as you want to be treated. No one wants to be treated like dirt and be walked all over on, so this means don't do it to anyone else.
---Rebecca_D on 5/11/07

Currently, a blog site out there, where people can confess their sins and ask forgiveness. Not a good idea.
If anything is of a serious nature, it can be traced and they can be held accountable, lawfully and legally.
So I don't think this a good idea to replicate it and ask forgiveness for your sins. The internet is not a good place for a confessional/tell all about your life story. Some will live to regret what they have written for all the world to see.
We can go directly to the Father.
