I'm sure of it. We are on the threshold of the New World Order, which will include a one world Religion...some form of Humanism probably. Christians will be demonized for claiming that the only way to heaven is Jesus. The open practice of Christianity could eventually become illegal.

Worst case scenario... Muslims gain control and Islam becomes the only acceptable religion. Then Christians will be killed for their faith.
---Donna66 on 10/26/08

Yes because Christians have failed to be salt and light in this country and have failed to utilize the god-given freedoms of speech, press and citizen involvement in order to face down and influence the godless culture. Instead of building multi-million dollar facilities and ministries, Christians should have set about DECADES AGO creating alternative voices to the secular filth that floods every aspect of our society today. But, they didn't and probably couldn't, because Christianity in America is anemic and weak and divided. The coming judgement of America will include the church. But out of it will come a refined and spiritually alive church, and out of it will be cast the dross and the chaff, in preparation for the coming final showdown.

Yes, It has and is happening to me! I was told by a well known Christian Camp for youth that my services as a nurse were no longer wanted because I led a young 12 year old camper to Jesus Christ. A second camp told me that I was not wanted back because I prayer with the campers and talked about Jesus Christ. This second camp was labeled as a Christian Summer camp. Just this Sunday my husband was told by the pastor that because my husband had talked to some members of the congregation about how to develope a personal intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and didn't ask permission to discuss these things with the Deacons or Pastor first, members felt uncomfortable. We were told we could talk about such things at church! Hey, this is the future!

The Second Vatican Council (Gaudium et Spes 1965) said that the complex circumstances of our day make it necessary for public authority to intervene more often in social economic and cultural matters. The NWO is courtesy of the RCC.

Yes. Communism is on its way.

The Catholic encyclical Solicitudo Rei Socialis describes 'the Universal purpose of goods' and talks like this 'We are faced with a serious problem of unequal destribution of the means of subsistence originallly meant for everyone.' John Paul 11.
Human rights (Rerum Novarum describes these rights) gives people the right to private property and many many other rights. To control all these rights Government will have to become huge.
---frances008 on 4/10/08

The Middle Class, burdened by taxation for this purpose, will disappear. We will be back to the feudal and elite system of the Middle Ages. At the moment information is being gathered in England about your house, and your view, your rooms and televisions. They will want to know your religious denomination too. This is the NWO. Welcome to a complete turning over of the rights God gave us, unto the Government.
---frances008 on 4/10/08

While it is unpleasant at the time for those who go through it, it also is a time of great increase and blessing for the Church of Jesus Christ. So let them dare to persecute us and see the results. It is bound to backfire on them.
---frances008 on 4/10/08

We should thank and praise God if we are found worthy to be persecuted because of our belief in Jesus (Acts 5:41).
---amicusdei on 4/10/08

It had already started. People are getting persecuted everyday for following Jesus. Whomever said half of America are Christians, lied. If they were we wouldn't have so much trouble as we do now. It says in the bible, that their will be Christians beheaded if they follow Jesus. And not take the mark of the beast. Rev 20:4
---Rebecca_D on 4/10/08

Brenda2, the 1st Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,"

I.e. it is a restriction on Congress, not on the people. It stops the formation of an American State Church, because this is what "establishment" meant at the time.

It says nothing about a secular state or expunging school prayer or Bible study, which were common at the time.
---Ktisophilos on 7/11/07

America needs judges like Richard Suhrheinrich and Alice Batchelder who rule on what the Constitution meant at the time:

"The ACLU makes repeated reference to the separation of church and state. This extra-constitutional construct grows tiresome. The First Amendment does not demand a wall of separation between church and state ... our Nation's history is replete with governmental acknowledgment and in some cases, accommodation of religion." [ACLU vs Mercer County, KY 2005]
---Ktisophilos on 7/11/07

Read David Limbaugh's Persecution and Janet Folger's The Criminalization of Christianity. They demonstrate that persecution is already here.
---Ktisophilos on 7/10/07

No Christian persecution in America however, many might not realize our Nation is not a Christian Nation. It is a secular Nation that gives us freedom of and freedom from Religion. The Constitution is clear on this so we will continue our rights as Christians just as secularists will continue their rights to be what they are.
Thank God we dont live in a Church State because Satanism is now a recognized Religion and it would not be good living under that kind of Religion.
---Brenda2 on 7/10/07

Alan,
P.S. a fictional penpal name does not make a person 'out of me' - anymore than joining a church makes you a Christian. Example, a person who leaves the Baptist Church for the Orthodox Church and derives their entire identity from the Orthodox traditions is no more important in God's eyes than a Christian who joins a small Bible believing congregation. A name or a church doesn't make the man. It is who you are in Jesus Christ that makes the man.
---anonymous on 7/9/07

Anon ... What I meant about your use of the name "anon" not giving you much credibility is that we know NOTHING about you, except that you are one of perhaps half a doxen at least who use that name, and you just do not seem to be an individual.
Why not call yourself "Anon the bald" or something similar, then we would be able to separate you from the others and make a person of you.<
---alan_of_UK on 7/9/07

Anon ... Just "anon" seems to show you don't have much confidence in establishing yourself as a known contributor here ... although your challenge to me indicates otherwise, But please don't do round in a look-alike mask all the time.

Anon ... I don;t say I from the UK to give crediv#bility, just to show where I live, in the same way than another shows she comes from NV.
What it does do sometimes is to explain why I may not understand somethimg that it pecularly American (maybe it is just a word), or that I am speaking from a different geographical or cultural context, because it is so true that we do many things differently in this country..
---alan_of_UK on 7/9/07

Yes. Just turn on the radio or the television and you will witness subtle attacks towards Christians that are increasing as time progresses. Why? Because America wants to remove the restraints of her Christian foundations and christians are getting in the way. America wants to become a polytheistic country that embraces all gods but in order to do this it must rid its self of Christianity that rejects polytheism and proclaim one God, even Jesus Christ as our Savior.
---Marcia on 7/8/07

There already is persecution. Just trust God and go against the mainstream and they will hate you worse than the unbeliever.

Real Christians in America are already being persecuted, and we have been for many years. We are used and abused, have our familes taken away, our lives destoyed, forced to pay extortion, lose jobs, etc. only because we are Christian.

Credibility from whom? You mean from men?
Why do you identify yourself in such a way that still divides the UK from the USA?
A Christian is a Christian, it doesn't matter where you reside. The UK part really doesn't give your answers credibility, it's who you are in Christ.
---Anon on 7/8/07

Anon ... Which Anon are you?
If you don't identify yourself separately from the others, you won't get much credibility

There's persecution for being a woman on CN.
I notice many women use men's names for this very reason. The men will respond to a man's name, but they show bitterness and disgust to women's names. One lady left because that what was hard for her to wrap her mind around, but it is true. If you speak fluff, everyday goings on, the male prosecuters (persecutors) leave you alone. But just speak your mind about serious subjects...
---anonymous on 7/7/07

Post Your Virtual Prayer Requests

So it goes back, do the male bloggers consider this the church? If so, women are not allowed to speak. But it's agreed that this is not the Church, but a great Biblical tool for one and all. However, women will continue to use men's names. Why, because some men really do resent women saying anything at all.

But you have to step back and look at the condition of their sad lives. Some are so miserable in their own skin, it's apparent that they have very few friends in the real world, and maybe just a cat that drools.

We God's people, need to march to Washington DC and demand that laws be past that will protect God's people, when we are called on by God to serve Him. You people are confused. God's people are the good people in this world. Wicked, lost, people are not good people. Why in this God's world do you get more rights?
---catherine on 6/29/07

Surley we are living in perilous times and still people are wasting time like life is a big party. Persecution is definatly upon the true church of Jesus Christ. The apostate church is the persecutor of true believers. There are two spirits on the earth, the Spirit of truth(Holy Spirit), and the spirit of error. The Word(Jesus Christ) and Spirit of Truth(Holy Spirit) agree. Every other spirit is a liar.

Persecution of Christians is here already. If you are a true believer and haven't experenced any, Then you are not obeying God. The more obedient you are to God, The more you will suffer. How faithful will you be to God when it hits you right between the eyes is the question. Or will you give up and quit on God and possibly never see Him.
---catherine on 6/19/07

I believe the persecution wont come from the secular left, but the religious right. Americans are a religious people, and leftist liberalism, socialism goes against that ingrained religiosity. I believe the religious right the political fundamentalist will rise like Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East, and persecute all those they deem as cults, meaning all religions not them. They openly declare intolerance is good and that America is a Christian nation, both in society, and ultimately government.
---MikeM on 6/19/07

I definitely believe that a time of persecution is coming for Christians here in the US. I do not know what form it will take, but there is so much anti-Christian sentiment here these days that it seems inevitable to me.

William Bradford, a calvinist. In Calvinist colonies if a Baptist, a Catholic or person of other religion arrived, they were given a 'suspended sentence' at the end of a rope;lets not mention the women burned as witch's. The colonies were mostly an autocratic theocracy, republican forms of goverment were alien to them. Remember the 'The Crucible' the classic play by Arthur Miller? It was not a place, time of condition I would desire to live in.

"Every new and successful example therefore of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance"
...James Madison, 1822

"Strongly guarded as is the separation between Religion and Government in the Constitution of the United States, the danger of encroachment by Ecclesiastical Bodies, may be illustrated by precedents already furnished in their short history"
..........James Madison,
---MikeM on 6/5/07

What influence, in fact have ecclesiastical bodies had on society? In They have been seen to erect a spiritual tyranny on the ruins of the civil authority on many instances they have been seen upholding the thrones of political tyranny in no instance have they been the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wish to subvert the public liberty may have found an established clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government instituted to secure and perpetuate it needs them not-James Madison 1785

"Experience witnesseth that ecclesiastical establishments, instead of maintaining the purity and efficacy of religion, have had a contrary operation. During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What has been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution."
James Madison 1785
---MikeM on 6/5/07

Where will religious persecution come from in America?

1.Look to those who wish religion in goverment.

2. Look to those whose theology cannot grasp pluralism, the cornerstone of religious freedom in America.

3.Look to those whose exclusive rhetoric call all others than themselves 'cults' that must be destroyed.

4. Look to them that claim to be 'historical Christians'-the problem is historical Christianity was the most intolerant.
---MikeM on 6/5/07

The persecution you ask about is not in the near future. It is going on right now.
They have taken the bible out of schools. They have taken prayer out of schools. They have taken mounumounts of the ten comanments out of court house. They have trid to take GOD of the pledge. They have tried to take (IN GOD WE TRUST off of our money. They have taken the Bible out of our court rooms. There has been Christians been arrested for preaching the Word of God all over the country.

All persecutors of God's people are some of the worse sinners. And these people are a menace to society. Which means a danger or threat to society. And some even carry guns and badges. >>>James Madison===in 1785 said, "That Religion [is] the basis and foundation of government...Before any man can be considered as a member of Civil Society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governor [GOD] of the Universe".

1) As the lie of natural origins becomes more & more accepted as the truth these people will become more irritated by people who speak against it (mainly christians.) This is currently part of the delusion sent by God in the last days, spoken about in II Thesalonians, but it is not yet a strong delusion...
---Anthony on 5/31/07

2) It will become a strong delusion when "aliens" (humans from another planet, perceived as more advanced than us and an independant source of knowledge) publically reveal themselves and endorse the evolutionary account of history. This will create an enormous "In your face!" attitude by those who think such support finally justifies their faith in evolution and attacks on christianity. Then you'll REALLY see christian persecution - the beheadings and such!

I do believe that Christian people in America are being persecuted today. If you go to Romans it states that they hated God. There are people who hate God and his people and they go out of there way to destroy them. I believe that the antichrist does afflict the children of God.
---anonymous on 5/31/07

I beleive that there is persecution now in America. I beleive that we are under attack of the devils who hate all those named after God. I have seen several people afflicted talking to theirselves and other horrors...It does not take a blind person to see what is going on.
---anonymous on 5/22/07

#1 > 1st cliff-well put. I dont think that every thing has to be commandment.I believe there is also conviction which can be as important. Before I really started going to church,I worked sundays all the time.I told myself I have to support my family.(we do) It was an excuse for me not to go to church.
---mike on 5/22/07

#2 > I gave alot of time to companys and people that didnt care anything about. Then I seen EVERYTHING actually go down the drain. what I owned, family, self esteem. When nothing was left I realized there was one thing left GOD. We give soooo many hours to everything else. T.V.,family,work,newspaper, all these things will pass. But why cant I give God just one full day.wife has her time, kids, boss, why not God.

Also when I have this time it makes me a better employee, husband, father.

Mike; There's a certain good feeling of being persecuted for your stand, but consider this, attending church and wearing dresses are not commandments of God!but if you must, some churches have evening and early morning services, surely one is outside the normal working hours! I too have been fired, not from not working but for sharing my beliefs with fellow employees.

Okebaram, legal persecution already happens in America. The law defiantly persecutes Christians, some sin with full knowledge of what they are doing against God's saints, and others while under the influence of Satan do it delusionally thinking they are doing the right service. The corrupted law do not say, "You know we are persecuting you because you are Christian." No, they just do it, thinking that they will never give an account of it to God, whom they do not believe in anyway.

Eloy, maybe what Mackie means is legal persecution, otherwise you are right.

Since there would be heavy, outright persecution of Christendom and other non-conforming religions, I can definitely see persecution being endorsed in America, legally or implicitly legally.
---Okebaram on 5/18/07

Eloy>>>I never knew as an unbeliever about persecuting Christians. I did not really know what a Christian was, so therefore, persecuting one was the furthest thing from my mind. If I had known, I don't think I would have persecuted them. I had enough to get forgiveness for thank God not that one. And when I got saved, I know without a doubt that Satan nearly had a heart attack. It should be noted: Persecution of Christians comes in a whole bunch of different styles, colors, fashions, actions and words.
---catherine on 5/18/07

Hello! persecution of Christians in America has been happening for over 20 years. Christians here have their lives destroyed, children are kidnapped, Christians are arrested and molested, pay extortion, become poverty stricken and homeless, starve and are afflicted, lose jobs, lose livelihood, lose joy, faith, trust, hope and dreams. The land has become ridden with every dark antiChrist and antiGod demon today bent on destroying God's children. Please Read- Leviticus 26:14-39; II Chronicles 7:14.
---Eloy on 5/18/07

Man could I already write a book on this. The few of us whom God has chosen into a close relationship with Him oh my goodness does the Devil hate us. And unbelievers are so silly they do not know when Satan is using them against God's people. We as true believers are suppose to have compassion for the lost, and I do. +++

At the second interview he told her he could'nt hire her unless she wore pants. It was a hostess job. She left. I was proud of this young person for standing up for what she believed. In North Korea they are forced to worship their leader, Kim Jong 'Ill.' Anyone possessing a Bible is shot, I believe that is persecution.

In America the future persecution will come from those who are intolerant of those who believe different than themselves. Look for those who write, publish attacks on other religions, en masse. The rhetorical attack today will turn into the real physical attacks, tomorrow.

Everyday Christians suffer some form of persecution, in the USA and all over the world.Jesus said that we would. He did. Do you feel, we as His followers, will fare any better? He said to not be surprised when this happens. But it does hurt when you are faced with it. This is a suffering Way,beloved. Not for the faint-hearted. Many tears and fears will have to be shed but we must not give up. We will overcome and receive our reward one day, but we must remain strong for now.

A) It is already happening. The slow process of taking God and prayer out of schools and public places and the push to remove his name from money, courts, constitution and the removing of crosses from public places along with christmas nativity scenes from parks are all beginnings of persecution. One model Federal prison has removed Bibles from the facility and if prisoners speak the name Jesus, the spend time in the hole. This will spread to all prisons. We may be unable to buy Bibles someday.

B) While I have a sence of defete for what is happening in the world system and to Christians in America, there is a stiring inside of me that feels as if depending upon the reception of His people to a very strong outpouring of His Spirit and Words, very soon, God is going to move in this country in a victorious way for Christian people. It will be a time of great harvest as well. Leaders will know God by the miracles preformed by all believers who diligently seek God. My vision of hope.

Mackie, haven't you experienced it yet? You will if you Love the Lord Thy God with all of thine heart, and if "Christ is your life" then you will be persecuted. Jesus said, "All will be hated on account of me." I just told the Lord, "Now you tell me." lol
You asked "WHY?" Because people hate the truth and they crucified Jesus because they didn't want to hear the truth, same with us, people will persecute us for telling the truth, which is God's word.
