"How do you think this will work?" Just as it is written. Therefore, like David I pray "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer." My declaration, "My mouth shall speak of wisdom: And the meditation of my heart shall be toward understanding." My expectation, "My soul shall prosper and be satisfied, and my mouth shall give praise." For the Father empowers me and by Him I submit.

If your idle words were sin to you and you repented of your sins, these are cleansed and cast from you as far as the east is from the west. It is primarily a principle to realize that your tongue gives you the most trouble in sin.

You will give an account for everything that is not under the Blood of Christ Jesus.

I suggest that you repent, keep your heart clean and your mouth out of trouble.

Will every idle word from every idle person that I've been be judged?
Or will only the real me be judged?
---Molly on 1/11/08

WOW! I am glad I read this post because if God is going to judge every single thing I've ever said...well, I dont know about most of you people, but I'm in big trouble. I ask for forgiveness and will watch what comes out of my mouth from now on.

For the unbeliever not too good. Believers, stay in prayer continuously asking God for forgiveness of sins through His Son Jesus Christ. Vain, idle, impertinent talk is displeasing to God. It is the product of a vain and trifling[insincere] heart. And will prove us unprofitable Servants. Vain--Thinking too highly of ones attainments. Idle--Not serious. Impertinent---Showing an offensive lack of respect and acting or speaking disrespectifully. By thy words thou shalt be justified or condemned.

Everything we say, everything we do, good or bad, God will judge us on all things. 2 Cor 5:10. A person can bless their day or they can curse their day just by speaking. If I get up in the morning and I say, It is going to be a dreadful day, a yucky day. Chances are it will because I just cursed my whole day. If I start out by praising the Lord, and thanking him, my day will be a blessful day. Our tongue is the most deadlies weapon, for words can't be taken back.

Some things we will have to wait to know the answer to. Idle words could mean anything. Evil words or things we have said against another will have to be accounted for on Judgement Day is my understanding. If so.. We will have a lot to account for. Perhaps we had better be careful what we say. Learn to think before speaking and ask God to word our mouths and allow only words that edify to come out.

I'm not sure just how it will work, but I regret a LOT of the words I've said; I'm sure most of us can say the same. This definitely gives me something to think about, and to strive for better in the future. God bless.

When I hear the word "idle", I think about an engine that is running but the vehicle is going nowhere. Many times it is easier to talk the talk (run the engine) and not walk the walk (move the vehicle). Anything we minister that we don't walk in has a tendency to sneak up behind us and bite us in the caboose.

There are many words that could be called idle words, even for the born-again Christians. For example a repairmen visited my home and we exchanged pleasantries but I failed to witness to him and so my words to him were idle words. Words have purpose, words convey ideas, confession is made with the mouth. Therefore let us witnessed with mouths.

greetings. There is in the records of all our lives how we used our "talents".True ,we do have a proverbal'account'where we draw from. The 'intrest'gained from our investments of living or the losses and debt aaccumulated by our poor judgement.Upon mortal death our account of human life will be closed and totaled. We will be found wanting or not wanting.

It means that the day you speak the idle word you have to give an account for it basically.

Words are the essence of who Jesus is and very important spiritually in every way. We can actually speak things into existance . Curses and blessings. By nature our tongue is evil. That is one reason to be watchful of what you say. We will give account of words that we do not ask forgiveness for while on earth. Those will be forgotten by God as he promisses of all sin. So then, it is important to seek forgiveness for idle , rough , lieing, or ungodly speach
