Eternal life begins at the general resurrection of the dead, if and only if, you are chosen for heaven and last for ever from then.
---Phil_the_Elder on 4/2/08

Eternity is forever. It has no end to it. Unlike here on earth where everything has a beginning and an end. The human mind cannot grasp this, it is to be received by faith. We will just be, forever.
---Helen_5378 on 7/7/07

In eternity there is no death, decay, or destruction, so eternity is endless. You cannot be born again onces your in eternity. There is no clock so time is of no importance. When people think of eternity that often connect it with time. But since their is no time we cannot say how long is it, because there is no time by which we can measure it.

The Eternal is Christ. What we have now is a relationship with Christ. When we die, when are complete in Christ, our life's will be united to Christ for all eternity since He is The Eternal. All those who are lost will have united together separated from Christ, and their reward will "not" be The Eternal" (Christ) but eternity in hell.

Mima, Humans cannot even fathom how long eternity is.

When Christians die and reunite with Jesus, time as we know it no longer exists. In Heaven one day is like a million years, and a million years like one day. Pretty cool, huh?

we can,t experience anything outside of time, so its hard to relate to eternal.the only area that we do to a degree is when we sleep.maybe thjats why God speaks to many in dreams.and has spoken to many in dreams.but that being said I believe God speaks to people everyday, problem is not many listen,or even hear.

Eternity is infinite. To live forever means,to never die. This is beyond the ability of the human brain to comprehend as we precieve the world as finite. We use time, numbers, measurements and the like. We catagorize so as to make sence of our world. Infinity makes no sense except to understand that we do not know what it means. A structure with no end seems impossible. But that is how long we will live.

"How long will our redemption last? How long is eternal?"

Since, as Jack has stated, eternal means outside of time, the redemption of the redeemed (faithful) will be immeasurably timeless, i.e., infinite (endless), FOREVER & EVER, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH!!! .
---Leon on 5/24/07

"Eternal" comes from the Latin "e terna," meaning "outside of time.
---Jack on 5/24/07

Forever without end. Eternal has no end. It isn't like the engerizer bunny, he may keep going and going, but sooner or later those batteries comes to an end, no longer going. Christians will remain with God for eternity. Sinners/backsliders remain in hell/lake of fire for eternity. Our carnal minds can't comprehend eternal, because our carnal eyes hasn't seen anything that lasts forever.
