Yes I have. Numerous times. If a person doesn't want their (hidden) sins to come to the surface, then don't ask God to search your heart. Because he will let you know what is hidden in your heart. I'm thankful that I do this. It hurts, for his word is sharper than a two-hedged sword. It cuts both ways.

Yes God searches your heart. He may use you to talk to a non-Christian person---if you start seeing a non-Christian person.

Seems like I recall a verse in the Bible that we are to search ourselves and then God won't have to. If anyone knows where that verse or a similar one is I'd like to know. It is true though,if we make sure our hearts, minds, and lives line up with God's Word then we shouldn't need God to search our hearts for we would be patterned after His ways. A Holy mind makes a Holy heart which produces a Holy life.

It was David who cried out Searh my Heart O God and see if there be any wicked way in me. I ask the Lord to search my heart because God states that no one knows the hearts of man- only God. He will reveal to us where we are falling short and then we will be able to repent.

God is the only one who does know the intent and does search the Heart. He has blessed us with a gift that if we ask in earnesty, he will remove defects of the heart as according to His will. This, for me, howeve, is a constant struggle. I ask him to search my heart and remove impurities allot, not just one time.ha. I constantly ask God to deal with my heart,in turning it toward him, searching it,and purifying it.

I don't believe God will take away things from the heart. It is our job to "cast down" the un godly thoughts and imaginations
Orlando-- this answer indicates to me that you believe we keep ourselves saved by our actions.

When it comes to thoughts, constantly. Thoughts are words to God. Guard them like a hawk. And by the way>>>Most people that suffers from depression, well, it is because of your STINKY, ROTTEN thinking. And they can lead to a hoast of other problems. SATAN, whom I hate, is the CULPRIT. ++

I believe God searches the heart. If you look throughout the bible, He constantly speaks to that fact. However, I don't believe God will take away things from the heart. It is our job to "cast down" the un godly thoughts and imaginations. As we draw more unto God we will experience more of Him and through our growth and maturity the evil and ungodly things will not be able to occupy the same space(the heart).

Yes I have definitely asked God to search my heart and remove that which isn't pleasing to Him. We should all probably do that more often than we do. However, I find that God will take you up on that prayer so be prepared! :)

Hebrews 4:12 says the word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Proverbs 17:3 says that the Lord trieth the heart
David said create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me.

God is a heart God, so whatever gave you the idea that God does not search your heart>>>Fot motives, yes. Without God the heart is wicked and selfish. I do that all the time. I ask God to keep wicked thoughts out and help me to have the right motives, Help me to love you more, always a bunch of HELP ME. All day long. And thank you is also a biggie. Help me and thank you.

God does not Search our Hearts, but we need
to ask Him to do so, just like David did in
Psalm 139:23-24, where David said, Search me
O God, and know my heart..

Yes God searches your heart always. You have to constantly ask to remove flesh so that your flesh can die daily. More of Jesus and less of the flesh.

This is part of my regular devotional life. I have been seeking the Lord to purge me of my old self, and fill me with HIMself.
