I think my house has evil spirits or demons that are effecting my daughters behavour. Can anyone tell me what I can do or where to go for help?

I would not discourage you from dealing with evil spirits but do agree that you might want to take your daughter for an evaluation performed by a qualified Christian therapist/psychologist/counselor. Does she believe that she is demonized? How old is she? |

There is only one thing to be done. Go to a bible believing pastor who has a church which is full of bible believers. Ring them up if you like. Tell them to come over and talk to you. They need all the details. A few people praying for you at the appropriate times and the devil will have to go away. |

Judas opened his heart to evil by his greed - John 12:6. If someone allows their heart to be ruled by some habitual sin...it becomes an invitation for a demon to enter in. Demon possession is related to the worship of heathen idols and possession of occult materials. Scripture relates idol worship with worship of demons (Leviticus 17:7, Deuteronomy 32:17, Psalm 106:37, 1 Corinthians 10:20), involvement with those religions and practices lead to demon possession. |

In Acts 16:16-18 the demonic spirit gives a slave girl some ability to know things beyond her own learning. In the case of the demoniac of the Gadarenes who was possessed by a multitude of demons, he had superhuman strength, went around naked, and lived among the tombstones. King Saul, after rebelling against the LORD, was allowed to be troubled by an evil spirit (1 Samuel 16:14-15, 18:10-11, 19:9-10) with the apparent effect of a depressed mood and an increased desire and readiness to kill David. |

I don't know if you are still looking for answers. I would like to respond. You feel there is something within the house? You should get a pastor to come cleanse and bless your home. Not just any pastor. It needs to be a pastor who is spiritually in tune with God, a penticostal preacher willing to come and wage war on demons. All living in the house needs to participate. Clease the home of all ungodly things and then bless the home. The pastor will know what to do if there is actual possession involved. |

For goodness sake, TALK to your daughter! Odds are, if she's acting weird, it's because some HUMAN is doing things to her, not a demon!
If no one is harming her, take her for a psychological evaluation. There are many natural causes of odd behavior and an evaluation could tell if it is one of them.
You don't want to assume it's demons when it could be a brain malfunction--God forbid any parent would overlook a child's brain tumor thinking it was demon possession! |

matthew are you saved? Have you put your faith in Christ dieing for you? Do you believe he is the son of God? If you have, now make God Lord of your life. Give yourself to Him and promise to do as he commanded of you. Repent of your sins and give your life in service to Him. Ask Him to protect you and give you strength and make these demons go away. Stay clear of sins and read your Bible so you know what it is our Lord Jesus commanded us to do. |

Good question Rebecca...this event happened very late at night, maybe midnight or 1 am. It was when I woke up in the AM and realized what I had done and what an idiot I was, I immediately repented. That's when the conviction really hit me and believe me, it was a horrible, horrible feeling. I could hardly stand myself. I thank God for His forgiveness and for giving me the strength to walk away from participating ever again in that kind of behavior (it's been 11 years now since that happened). |

1) I wrote this answer on another blog, but it's worth repeating: Take the time and go through your books and other things and ask God to show you what is not glorifying to Him...what would He want you to get rid of? And then be obedient and throw it out or burn it if possible!!! After I got saved, God started pointing out all kinds of things I had, anything from American Indian artifacts to c/d's, astrology books, even certain little knik-knaks such as little buddah's, etc. |

Part 2) The Lord would not allow me to sleep until I would get up (sometimes at 3 am) and throw out what He was pointing out to me. You would be amazed at how the spiritual climate in my home would change from getting rid of those "accursed" items. Of course, after you discard them you should anoint your home with oil and pray over it. But believe me, you will experience a definite change in the spirit realm, since you are no longer in possession of items are an open the door to the enemy. |

My experience: I had been getting attacked by demons in my home when I first got saved. I cleansed my home, got rid of all God told me to, prayed over/anointed my home. No problem..demons gone..but then I had an ex-boyfriend over and had sex...well guess what...demons back! Had to anoint and pray over the home once again and boy did I learn my lesson! Open doors of sin brings demonic forces in with them, I experienced it first hand! But I'm glad I saw a living example of it, I'll never ever forget it! |

I really don't care if evil spirits are in my house, I think we would all be surpized of the thing we could see if we could see into the supernatural realm as well as we see into the physical realm. If I could see an evil spirit I wouldn't tremble but if an evil Spirit could see me it would tremble because of the spirit of Christ that lives in me. |

I have never had demons in my house, and I hope that I never do. I do keep blessed objects in my house, and here I do use holy water to bless my doors. All this would be useless if I did not also pray and seek Heavenly assistance in keeping my Home safe. I put my faith in Jesus for this purpose. It is because of Him that the blessings and Holy Water work for they are done in His name. |

You might also put anointing oil on the door post of each room or anywhere else the Lord might lead you to. Playing anointed praise and worship music also will remove the demons as they cannot stay where the presence of the Lord is and He says He dwells in the praise of His people. Also speak out loud to the demons and remind them that the Blood of Jesus is against them and breaks their hold.
Ask God to feel the empty places with His Holy Spirit for when the demons leave they leave a void. |

I totally agree with J R. I was Catholic ,Big time idolatry there, God's Spirit cannot fully manifest because of all the unbelief. Not believing that Jesus came to save us with no strings attached. There's nothing we can do to be saved, but believe in Him. The RCC is full of idols, and other external means, to try and reach God. I have seen my own wife get healed in a small humble church, were she could not, in one of the largest Catholic Churches. RCC looks good outside, but spiritually it's sick. |

The reason that there is no Catholic fix, is because like Jesus said, " A house divided against itself, cannot stand". Thus the Catholic Church which I used to belong to for many years. Truth and lies are mixed, so God's power cannot really be effective there. Ashley there is more to it than that. Because Jesus said the only way to get rid of such demons is by prayer and fasting. Remember those men came upon a man filled with demons? They saw Jesus cast out demons so they thought they would do the same. One demon leaped on one of the men, and they got scared and ran. Acts 19:13-16. Those demons said to these men, Paul I know, Jesus I know but who are you? It isn't as simple as you claim. |

Gail: Spirits could have been cast out at any time in the name of Jesus Christ. I chose not to. Besides, I appreciated having a spirit in the home that warned us of danger. As usual, many make a big to do over a simple act. if you hold the same priesthood that Jesus Christ held, you just say In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to leave and the demons must leave. They don't have a choice. Yes I have heard their screams as they left not happy, but they left a minute later. Everyone in the whole block heard them. 1. I guess I need to clarify again that scripture justifies and the RCC believes that any person can cast demons out in the name of Jesus. However, for severe demonic cases an exorcist(priest) is called in for often several days, weeks of fasting and prayer to rid of the demon (always in the name of Jesus). |

2. Elroy admits that some cases cause more fasting prayers than other. (i.e. repeatedly asking the demon to leave in the name of Jesus). This may take several attempts, and ultimately the demon must leave in Jesus' name through the power of the spirit. But, that doesn't mean it doesn't go wihout a fight. |

Why does everyone say that you have to go through a long winded ritual to cast out a demon. Did Jesus say some long speech, or did he just say: Get thee hence Satan. Satan or his angels have to do what is commanded of them if it is said in the name of Jesus Christ. Moses said Satan, leave and he had to on the mount. Tony - My head spins. I can imagine when the "priest/s" say those words or similar ones that the devil stands there laughing. Seriously, none of that is in Scripture. Jesus commanded the demons to be silent. Jesus also says that "in My name" (Jesus' name) you will cast out demons. Scripture nowhere says to converse with the demons. They are already defeated on the Cross and have to come out at the name of Jesus. |

Demons or unclean evil spirits cannot pass the Name of Jesus.
What you do after a deliverance is important.

When an unclean spirit leaves a person, it leaves a void. It must be filled with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, so that when the evil spirit comes back it will find the void filled.

I find it surprising that a blogger stated that the RCC doesn't know about authority and doesn't teach about demons. I guess they failed to understand that the Church performs many exorcisms every year, that it is very serious business and the Rite of Exorcism has been in the litugical book since 1000 AD. I have seen demonic possession, and unawares spent time with demonic possessed people, more than once. The demon within them is there often with their consent, as it makes them feel more powerful. So, the Moderator is giving a standard Biblical answer, but don't expect a change. There are some churches who believe in Scriptural deliverance. Find a Protestant one and get a Team of devoted Believers to act together to cast the demons out. |

Any question know about whose authority this purging comes from. You won't hear this language coming from Joel Osteen or other pop-evangelicals. Your daughter may be picking up the spirits from outside your house. I had a friend who was always bringing different spirits with him into my house in California, and I finally told him to stop picking up every stray spirit and bringing it home to my place. I was getting tired of dealing with them and getting rid of them all the time. But he's an adult who witnessed a lot of Holy Ghost power through my life, so he knew that I meant it. It is your house, so you just tell them to get out in Jesus Name. |

If you have someone that is not a Christian in your home...
Demons have no body, they seek someone to embody. Their widest expression is through a human but will enter into animals, if necessary. Mark 5:12
They can have some amount of influence over people even when not in them. They can operate from within or without (influence).
They prefer embodiment in a human. Satan is their superior, so they seek to destroy you.

Demons fight against your peace of mind, inner peace, relationships.
Demons/familiar spirits will fight/influence a non-Christian so that they cannot make a commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
If they are without you (influence) - they must be resisted.
If they are in you, they must be expelled. |

After a 3 day fast, go from room to room claiming the BLOOD of JESUS OUTLOUD and COMMAND all EVIL SPIRITS to leave THE ROOM and HOUSE and SEAL that ROOM that they may not REENTER then proceed to the next room. It has worked for me. I also walk the perimeter of my property claiming the blood of Jesus that no spirits may come near. May God protect and keep you in Jesus name amen. |

#1 It is called cleaning house. We have to do it from time to time. Some times when you move from one house to another, the new house has to be both naturally and spiritually cleaned. The most important thing you must have to clean house spiritually is faith, faith in our Lord Jesus and the power of His Name. Then you go to work. I have even gotten a broom and literally swept them out of my house. |

There is no Catholic fix, but there is a God who can fix it. Jesus said, "Behold I've given you authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy." That authority is in the name of Jesus. I command you satan to GO in Jesus name. Also, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. Catholics know nothing about taking authority or about demons and how they operate. They RCC doesn't teach it, so how could they know? |

1. This may seem like I'm being a wise guy, but I'm not. How old is she and what is she into? What do you think is influencing her life. Back in 1995 me my wife and kids were staying at a friends house for about 5 weeks. Her son who was about 21, came back to live in the house and had a room on the third floor. We were on the second floor. He definately brought something in the house and he played very demonic music. A few weeks later him and a few others took their own lives as part of a Satanic cult. |

RIGHT NOW It would be UNWISE to try casting something out that is not positively there risking damaging this individual mentally or physically stability. I would not recommend anyone comment on a resolution until you know the full details of the situation. Many children have been damaged by misdiagnoses of demons and some have even been Killed. Please seek the counsel of someone to help be sure this is the problem. My friends neighbor thought her children were possessed and horribly abused them thinking she was fighting the demons inside of them. They were innocent children, but she had mental health issues. Not saying this is the case with you, only that a second or third opinion doesn't hurt AND the help of someone experienced in this will benefit you if this is, in fact, the problem. We will all be praying for you in the meantime. |

Make sure something the people in your house are doing is not what's responsible for the demons being there. Rebellion is a huge attraction for demonic activity. Immorality, whitchcraft, various drugs that have mind control, and spiritual books that are being read and used will open the doors wide for invitation. You can send them out but if the door is open they will be happy to return. Rebuke the demons, clean your house, and fill it with God. The demons will go. |
