My Goals Have Stalled

What do you do when God has directed you to move toward a certain goal, and then all of a sudden it stalls? No discernable movement and no further direction from the Lord.

Like Abraham, you have to be willing to change course.
God may be asking you to sacrifice your dream/goal and offer it up as a sacrifice to the Lord. Dedicate your goal back to the Lord. He may have other plans, as with Abraham who was willing to offer up his son as a sacrifice. God may have something better, waiting for you to change course.

Hi Destiny. Sometimes we are at a stall because the resources that we need are held up in the heavenlies. Refer to Daniel when he was told by the Michael that he had been battling with the prince of Persia which held up the deliverance of his prayer, but that God had heard his prayer and would be releasing the need. Other times we are held up because we start following God and then take over without permission.

You likely need to spend much more time in prayer. Very often we miss the DETAILS that God has given us.

Example:
Ordering us to turn left at the next light, may not be this next light . . . for today, but for next month . . . on the third . . . at 2 PM . . . in another city.

I am in this position right now and the scriptures God has given me are these:

Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God,
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

Isaiah 64:4
For from of old no one has heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who works and shows Himself active on behalf of him who [earnestly] waits for Him.

Wait on Him...He's preparing things for you, He'll tell you when to move forward.

God told me, "To just keep doing". Have a great day. +++

What a very good question. You keep doing and going everyday. Stay in prayer. be a giver, all those good stuff. And WAIT. What else can you do?

Bravo! Well said, Bill. Joy9988

When we get one of those polling questionaires here in Chrstianet, how many times have we pushed the button to send our answer, but what we sent was refused - - because there was something we still needed to do?

It's like this with a goal God has for us > before you can get there, you have to fill in ALL the blanks.

Once I was doing some yard work on my mother's property. Over went the wheelbarrow, stalling me from reaching my goal. And in me I could "hear" cursing and sense the angry reaction.

OH-oh . . . not what would be going on in me if I were sweetly and sensitively doing the chore in God's love and leading.

I had been pushing just to get the thing done . . . instead of enjoying the LORD and appreciating having something good to do.

There is a reason as to why God done this. It may have been not at the right time. Are you sure that this goal your reaching is God's direction and not your own? Many people are like Jonah. God told Jonah to go to Nineavah, he didn't want to. And at first he didn't, he wanted to do what he wanted to do. God got his attention alright. Finally he said okay Lord, I'm going. When it comes down to it, we are all stubbron.

If you are completely sure that it is Gods will, then FAITH comes into play here and you must prayerfully keep putting your hands and mind to the task at hand and know that God will move when He will. Prayer, praise and seek wisdom/knowledge by Bible study.

Sometimes God expects us to do most of the work. If he has shown you the goal, then you need to be working towards it.

You wait. You pray. You put your hand to the plow and do what you are doing now until you get further direction.

Destiny, do you think there's a possibility you weren't listening to God to start with?

Remember, Joseph was in jail for several decades for a crime he didn't commit. But was he ever not moving towards the goal God set for him? It appears to earthly eyes that he was stalled, but he was precisely on God's timetable.

I'd seek the Lord in prayer, and ask for wisdom. His timing nevers falls into place with mine, but it's always perfect. As his word tells us, he works all things for good for those who love him. There are sooo many great scriptures in relation to plans, be them ours or the Lords. Study those scriptures. Meditate on them. May they bring encouragement, and wisdom on how, when or if to proceed. God bless!

It could be that God's goal is for you to be where you are. You goal may be to advance a "career" - for the Lord, of course. I Tim. 6:6 Just "chill out" about movement and do all you can for Christ right where you are.
