TPM is "Intentional and focused prayer with the desired outcome of an authentic encounter with the presence of Christ, resulting in mind renewal and subsequent transformed life." The direction and flow of the ministry session is completely dependent upon the ministry recipient's free will choices and the leadership of the Holy Spirit and never guided or directed by the facilitator.

Prayer:
Enter into your closet. A closet is where clothes are hung. God's clothes, your closet. Clothes custom designed for you.

Shut the door. The Door is a man named Jesus. Enclosed in Him, you hear no outside voices.

In that closet, Father sees the secret things that belong to Him. When He shows those things to you, they become yours. You come out of that closet changed.....His clothes, His vision, His prophetic utterance. Prayer doesn't change God or others,it changes you.

That's right, Queen . . . arguing is wrong >

"Do all things without complaining and disputing," (Philippians 2:14)

And we all can learn from each other, no one gets things perfectly, and we need each other's help.

I think your quoted definition of theophostic ministry is worth posting and reading. So, thank you, Queen.

Bill5659, that is how I found it,thru Google, forgive me for not finding it the way you thought that I should and quoting it the way that you thought I should. I shall not argue with so called christians with a spirit of confusion operating in there lives. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

(f) This shows what I personally would say BIBLICAL theophostic PRAYER would involve - - not some new thing.

And SCRIPTURAL theophostic MINISTRY would involve helping someone else with this > freely > "Freely you have received, freely give." (in Matthew 10:8)

James 5:16 shows we need to help EACH OTHER > "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

(a) I looked a little at one site about theophostic prayer and ministry. I can't say I really understand what they mean; but I can see that BIBLICAL theophostic prayer would be a prayerful process of seeing how I have misunderstood things of my past in a way that is hurting me and my life, then giving myself to Jesus for how He can heal me of this and have me seeing things creatively and in love. And do this with anything, now, if my interpretation has me reacting negatively and perhaps nastily.

(b) I'd say this is what various scriptures are directing us to do > when we get in trouble emotionally, because of how we are seeing things past or present thewrong way, or because of how we are misunderstanding God's word so we are getting in arguments and getting hurt >

We need to get wise to the fact that our inner trouble is because, really, of how we are taking things . . . letting a wrong spirit mess with how we understand things, then making us upset, hurt and suffering >
---Bill_bila5659 on 7/8/07

(c) The Bible clearly does say, "And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good?" (1 Peter 3:13)

This shows me that if I am hurt and suffering about my past, present, and how I'm getting into conflicts because of my beliefs . . . I need to realize my own weak nature and misunderstandings are making me available to be effected like this, and I need to get in God's love, instead, with His strength and protection . . . NOT blaming others.

(d) "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

If I'm getting in trouble with how I see my past or present or God's word, I need to submit to God so He can straighten me out and heal me into His love so I have wisdom to see things right >

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." (Philippians 1:9)
---Bill_bila5659 on 7/8/07

(e) "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)

So, if I'm being devoured by unforgiveness and depression and paranoidly cursing others with my suspicion . . . or eaten alive with worry and stress and bitterness . . . I need to get wise to who is doing this to me, and submit to God for how You are able to make me "sober" so I can see things better and not give in the Satan's cruel stupidity.

Yes, melissa, I have a similar impression. Another complicated way of creating another program, writing more books and someone making some money somewhere. I still don't know what it really is, and I looked at the site.

I thought all prayer was supposed to include a quiet time of listening for God's guidance. I didn't know that a "designer" prayer had been created and passed off as something new. Does anyone else get that impression?

??An example of Christian theophostic prayer?? > when I have some problem with a person, and it is getting the better of me >

first, I admit I can not trust whatever I am thinking while I am troubled > so, I need to be quiet,

* * * how God makes me nicely quiet * * *,

until I am perfectly satisfied with God in His love > then, in His perfect peace, God has me understand the problem right and know what to do.

It sounds a bit like the processing that the scientologists get up to

Queen. I never knew that's what that was called. Whatever it's called, I like it and we do this quite often in our church and homes. Sometimes there are some unholy happenings but we know how to deal with it.

Say what?
Could someone bring that down to a layman's terms. Is this Christian or a self help gospel - psychobabble type of thing?
---Dixie on 7/6/07

Queen has quoted what I could find on the Internet...by entering "theophostic prayer".

"TPM" means "Theophostic Prayer Ministry".

My understanding as just a lay person is this ministry includes getting a person to see how the person has misunderstood things in one's past, AND get personal with Jesus in His love, instead, and THEN see how he/she sees things in God's peace.
