Here is one contradiction. What are your comments on the legion of demons placed into pigs who jumped off a cliff into the sea? Matthew 8:28 to 9:1 and Luke 8:26 to 8:39. These two accounts are obviously the same story, but the discrepancy is one demon possessed man or two demon possessed men. Numbers are the easiest thing to verify, two will never equal one. With your answers, try and avoid responses like there were probably two but one was the spokesman so God did not tell Luke about the shy one.

"the rate of our interpretation of the scriptures matches those of our increase of knowledge which, in turn, having over 3,300 different denominations in the U.S."

If you'll check closely you'll find that the advance in knowledge had nothing to do with the spread of so many denominations.

Sorry Phil, you said "the Bible was written by men, reflecting their individual interpretations..."

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation-2 Pt 1:20.

Now if you think this only applies to prophecy, think again:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness-2 Tm 3:16.

The Bible was written by men, reflecting their individual interpretations of the divine nature. With may authors of varying perspective of events. At Christ last supper Matthew discusses to breaking of bread and the drink of wine. While John goes into much more detail of that evening but never discusses that portion of the meal. The Bible is not Inerrant, it was never intended to be so. But it is still the best collection of documents we have about the nature of God and his desires for mankind.

No. The Bible does not contradict itself. The reason people think that it contradicts itself is because the take the Holy Scriptures out of Context. When you read scripture in Context you get a complete understanding.

Ramon: "Has the Bible said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hsa 4:6)"

Let's rephrase what Hosea said to match today, "My people are destroyed for too much knowledge." Since Hosea, our knowledge has increase ten thousand fold and look where it's gotten us. Look at the world around us. Also, the rate of our interpretation of the scriptures matches those of our increase of knowledge which, in turn, having over 3,300 different denominations in the U.S.

Yes, there ARE contridictions in the Bible!

Only to nonBelievers who try to interpret the Bible in a worldly way, using worldly knowledge. To understand the Bible, having no contradictions, one must be in the spirit. To interpret the Scriptures with spiritual knowledge.

Catherine: I think you may have misunderstood Ivory's reply.
Ivory: Didn't you mean {{How can the God that created everything.......write such a book (that would contain contradictions)?}}
That's how I took what you said.

Ramon: I agree.

You write and speak as an unbeliever. God is the author of the Bible.

No, there are no contradictions in the Bible. The Holy Spirit move every author in the Bible to write the Truth. God can't not make errors.

Only God haters, Bible haters, cults, Christian Haters, will state that the Bible has errors. They fail to study Scriptures correctly. Those who say there are contradictions in the Bible lack the Holy Spirit in their hearts.

Has the Bible said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hsa 4:6)

Ivory>>You stand in grave danger of Hells fires.
