Is Sanctification Important To God
Is it important to God what we as Christians watch on televison or read? If we are to refrain from evil, doesn't this include these things? Are we supposed to do these things so we will know whether or not they are evil or do we let the Holy Spirit guide us to stay away from this?

It depends on your conscience. If it makes u feel wrong and influence, and it makes your heart support any hurtful things in the heart, maybe you should reconsider. By the way, sanctifying God's name.. So by first do you know the God's name?

Well, Susie, given you already know the answer to your own question, I will just say that I agree with you. LOL. That's not to say I think everything is bad, but we certainly need to make choices. These things influence us more than most of us would like to admit. It's very subtle at times, but it's still there. If one knows God's character, and has the HS dwelling within them, they will know right from wrong, and their life will show which path they chose in their hearts.

I'm a classic's Lover, so most of the Movies I watch are censered. I don't believe it is healthy for Christians to watch movies that are an inventation for demonic Spirits to Build up Strongholds in their Minds. It really depends on the Morals of the Movie.

Let me ask you a question. Would you rather watch tv or spend time with God. Read the Bible or newspaper? Put God first. Everything else that is good will follow. Wisdom teaches us what is evil and what is good. True wisdom comes from God.

Betty-I agree. If we are walking in the spirit daily then we will be more in tune with God, and the things of this world will seem less attractive. It's so important that we spend time with the Lord daily. Now if only I could "beat" my flesh into submission (I say beat in quotes because I don't mean literally)! Distractions can be so subtle, can't they?

I have found over the years that the best way to know if I should watch or read something is to let the HS guide me. If He doesn't want it in my life, the desire to watch or read whatever it is is taken away. I found that to be so with many tv shows and books. But He does work with people differently.

Would you watch it or read it if Jesus was sitting next to you? Because He is!

Well . . . I still watch action stuff. And Jesus wants us to love our enemies and not want people to be hurt as revenge, but I can still go along with wanting to see the bad guys get smashed and shot to death. So, IF I am watching this stuff, I may work on loving and caring about those characters and wanting forgiveness for them, instead of urging for them to get hurt and killed.
It's better for me spiritually, though, when God blesses me with better things to do.

God doesn't change, why do we?
The Holy Spirit is telling everyone something different, or is He?
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Young children can know good from evil. But some adults have difficulty with it.
A form of godliness but denying the power of the Holy Spirit.

He that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Do good and eschew evil.
I think it matters.

Anything you read, watch on TV or movies, or listen to on radio/CD's should line up with the values in the Bible. If they don't, that is when you know that these are against God, and you should not read, watch, or listen to these things.
