Matt 12:31 ..All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost..

Confess all sin. Ask forgiveness for
- your parents fornication
- your fornication

But you will need to be serious about serving Christ, & OBEY Him. If so, He will give you His Holy Spirit.

If you are not given the Holy Spirit, you are not saved & cannot go to Heaven.

Rom 8:9 ..Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Hellen,
Thought I was clear. We're justified by faith but faith that justifies isn't merely an intellectual exercise. Any faith that doesn't translate into works is dead, and if it's dead, of what use is it? Justifying faith must find practical expression in repentance, obedience, submission to Christ, however imperfectly. You can't live a deliberately rebellious life on earth and expect heaven as your reward. I am saying this because believing without obeying is becoming an option for many nowdays.

Jackie-*When was the last time you heard an evangelistic message that challenged sinners to repent and follow Christ? Yet isn't that the language Jesus Himself used (Matthew 4:17, Mark 8:34)?*

Amen! That is what God calls truth. Evangelism nowadays is not the way Jesus did it. What happened to Jesus' way of evangelism? "Repent follow me and you shall not face the eternal fires of hell." Jesus' way is truth not the new doctored up feel good Gospel message.

Again Amen Jackie! Todays Christians have turned living in holiness into vain works of righteousness. Despite how the Bible tells one must be holy to partake in the kingdom(Hebrews 12:14). It's fulfilling what the word said that good will be called evil(following after obedience and holiness/following Chirst) and evil will be called good(not being doers of the word/James 1:22).
(Isaiah 5:20)

Jackie - Galatians 3:11 says "..the just shall live by faith". That is to be obeyed. The Book of Galatians is about Justification by faith. We must be careful to not lead people astray by having them believe they must have works to be saved. Faith is required to get saved and stay saved. Jesus paid it all on the Cross.

"You erase the biblical words repentance, obedience, and submission from the vocabulary of evangelicalism. Faith becomes merely an intellectual exercise."

Jackie, well put! God Bless!

--- Jackie you wrote."You erase the biblical words repentance, obedience, and submission from the vocabulary of evangelicalism" No. I believe all these words played a role in salvation, a person is in repentance, and is in obedience, and is in submission when they receive the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him in their lives. The word are very important and to be closely adhered too.

Mima,
*Could we call this works?*

1) I notice that in your zeal to eliminate good works as a requirement for salvation, some of you folks seem to to to the extreme of eliminating from the gospel message anything that sounds like a work of righteousness, and to speak only of believing the objective data. You erase the biblical words repentance, obedience, and submission from the vocabulary of evangelicalism. Faith becomes merely an intellectual exercise.
---Jackie on 7/26/07

2)Instead of calling peopleto surrender to Christ, modern evangelism asks them only to accept some basic facts about Him. A person can believe without obeying. Thus faith is robbed of any moral significance, and righteousness becomes optional. Even the way they invite people to Christ reveals this shift. When was the last time you heard an evangelistic message that challenged sinners to repent and follow Christ? Yet isn't that the language Jesus Himself used (Matthew 4:17, Mark 8:34)?
---Jackie on 7/26/07

3) The gospel we present has eternal consequences. If it is the true gospel, it can direct men and women into the everlasting kingdom. If it is a corrupted message, it can give unsaved people false hope while consigning them to eternal damnation. Some say a person who refuses to obey Christ can still receive Him as Saviour. They teach that the gift of eternal life is available by faith even to one who rejects the moral and spiritual demands of Christ.
---Jackie on 7/26/07

4) Lynne, dont be deceived, submission is a fundamental characteristic of saving faith. You cannot be saved nor go to heaven while stubbornly refusing to bow to Christ's authority. Nearly all the major biblical passages calling for saving faith refer to Jesus as Lord (cf. Acts 2:21, 36, Romans 10:9-10). Repentance from sin is essential to salvation. Biblically, repentance is a total about face turning away from sin and self and unto God (cf. 1 Thessalonians 1:9).
---Jackie on 7/26/07

5) Lynne, Faith in Christ Jesus is what saves, not just believing His promises or accepting facts about Him. Saving faith has to be more than accepting facts. Even demons have that kind of faith (James 2:19). Believing in Jesus means receiving Him for all that He is (John 1:12). It means both confessing Him as Saviour and yielding to Him as Lord.
---Jackie on 7/26/07

Lynne, if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead, then you shall be saved. Follow Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins in the name of Jesus Christ. Find someone who is a born again believer, ask them "how do I get saved?" "How do I accept Jesus into my heart as Lord and Savior of my life?"

Leslie does this statement," If you have those two covered, then you go to Heaven." Mean just accepting the Lord Jesus Christ is not enough for salvation? In other words we to add something besides what Jesus has already done for us? Could we call this works?
---Mima on 7/24/07

Having illegitimate children does NOT mean you cannot go to Heaven. This is a sin, so confess it and repent (turn away from) it. The ONLY things that will keep you from Heaven are unrepented of sin and not having accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you have those two covered, then you go to Heaven.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Your standing with God and your qualifications to enter heaven are exactly the same as the most legitimate child ever borned. If you ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and Save your soul that is exactly what he will do.And may the Lord richly richly bless you.
---Mima on 7/23/07

If you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, and confess and repent of your sins, then you are able to enter heaven.

Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Take a piece of paper and a pencil and write down all the names that "whosoever" doesn't cover. It won't take long :)

This is the very reason we need to understand that the handwriting of ordinances which were against us (the Law) were taken out of the way, having been nailed to His cross.

In the eyes of God, who views all men redemptively in His great white bedsheet, you are a candidate for rebirth. When you are born again, I guarantee you that you won't be an illegitimate child anymore.

Are all of you Christians? If so, the answer is yes.
Find your children a strong father figure, if their father is not one. A Christian pastor/preacher, etc. It's time to make the break from illegitimate children in your family, now. You don't want that legacy for your children.
