For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ-so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body- according to what he has done-whether good or bad. 2Corin-5:10 "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS Matt-16:27.
Rom-2-6(K)God,who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:7-to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality-eternal-life,

2Corinthians 5:10 says that we will appear before the judgment seat of Christ. This is not the same as the great white throne in Revelation 20. There are several judgments.

1. Christ on the cross(2Corinthians 5:21)
2. Church(according to works)(2Corinthians 5:10)
3. Jews(Matthew 24:20-22)
4. Nations(Matt. 25:31-46)
5. Sinners(Revelation 20:11-12)

If we are being judged now then we need to live daily with an attitude of repentance and obedience to the will of God.
If the Holy Spirit is convicting us of something then we must be ready to follow His leading

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin,

4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

1 Peter 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

4:5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God, if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

God judges His children today by evaluating how well they live by His written Word. Their rewards in God's Kingdom will depend on their character development during their mortal life. It is a process requiring time and opportunity for learning and growth.

We are judged when Jesus returns. (2Corinthians 5:10) It is a 7yr period.

During the 7 yrs. there will be a tribulation on earth, but the church won't be here.

Rev 22:11,12 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Sounds like the judgement is completed just before Jesus returns.

At the last trumpet blow, Jesus returns to Earth and those in Christ (and there won't be many) will rise to heaven. They will not experience death. This is the first resurrection.

At the end of the thousand year period, the rest of the people from all of history will rise (this is the second ressurection) and be judged. The names who are not found in the Book of Life will be thrown into hell.

If we are being judged prior to Jesus coming and since we don't know when Jesus coming will be, it may be that we are being judged right now.

Correction to prior post. "Rev.11,12" should read Rev.22:11,12 I neglected to include the chapter. Just FYI

Robin I have just come across your question. I think the question is very interesting and I am sure others will concur. I trust that the following will help in answering this for you. There are two instances of God's judgment. During the Judgement Seat of Christ both the living and the dead are judged. During the Great Throne of Judgement the remaining dead, as well as those not found written in the book of life are judged.
---josef on 7/26/07

This represents the judgement seat of Christ. God has appointed a day, in which He shall judge the world and "I beheld till the thrones were cast down [placed], and the ancient of days did sit" And "I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of man came with the 'clouds of heaven', [angelic host] and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him" This occurs just prior to the second advent of Jesus... Dan.7:9>13 Cont. Pt.2
---josef on 7/26/07

Pt.2...As He stands before the Father as the advocator of those whom He Has chosen, those who have acknowledged & confessed Him as Savior. We all appear before Him in the sense that our works are recorded in what is refered to as a book of remembrance. Ref. Mal.3:16 "For God shall bring every 'work' into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or evil" Ecc.12:14 The judgement is set, and the 'books' are opened. Cont. Pt.3
---josef on 7/26/07

Pt.3 This is the judgement of the "house of God", "the body of Christ" both dead & alive, where God's judgement must begin, for we will, after the resurrection, participate in a continued work of judgement. "He that overcomes, the same 'shall' be clothed in white raiment, and I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels" This is the warning message "Fear God, and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgement is come" Rev:14:6,7 Cont. Pt.4

Pt.4 This judgement not only determines who will be raised in the first resurrection, but also the reward they are given. Before Jesus returns this declaration is made "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still, and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still, and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still, and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And behold, I come quickly: and My reward is with me, to give to every man according as his work shall be" Rev.11,12

Robin from what I understand in God's word, the judgement seat of christ will occur at the return of Christ. I read this in 1 corinthians 4:5, 2 timothy 4:8 just to mention a few. The judgement seat of Christ is for the saved saints of God. We will be judged for our works, not our sins.
---Cynthia on 7/25/07

Cynthia, can you be more specific? at the judgement seat of Christ... WHEN does this occur?
---Robin on 7/25/07

Hi robin, From what I understand, if you are refering to the saved, then as ricky said, at the judgement seat of Christ. If you are refering to the unsaved, they will be judged at the great white throne judgement.

Thanks Ricky, I was wondering about individuals who are Christians. I assume that when we die, we are judged then, but what if we don't die but remain living until Jesus comes? Is there a judgement period for the living just before Jesus returns?
---Robin on 7/24/07

It seems no one is interested in this subject... I guess that we would be judged prior to Jesus return.
