The kind of dancing David did is allowed among Christians. Dirty dancing is not. It is inappropriate and out of line for a Christian. Just picture this scenario and remember this:God is a jealous God! OK. You are on he dance floor, dirty dncing to satan's evil and treacherous music. God will become jealous. Basically, you are committing spiritual adultery against God. Not a nice things to do. Either you are for Christ or you are not. No middle ground.

If a man after God's own heart can dance, why not us? 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might, and David was girded with a linen ephod.

I danced at my son's wedding this past weekend. It was good, clean fun.

David danced with all his might.
Miriam played the timbrel and the damsels went forth with dances.

There is a difference between dancing for the Lord (acceptable) and dancing for lust.(unacceptable anywhere, let alone church)

If there is a belly dancer behind the pastor while he is preaching or Chippendale ushers something may be slightly amiss and it might be wise to seek another church.

Dancing is fine. Although it depends on what exactly they're doing when dancing. There are many different types of dancing. Some harmless, innocent, and some dirty. I think you can easily be the judge on what's appropriate.

Why shouldn't they dance?? When I was in grade school I remember this one little girl, Phoebe, had to sit on the floor against the wall when we had square dancing every Friday in gym. It was against her reliegion to dance. I felt bad for her.She looked so sad and alone and kids would talk about her.

Hi Rebecca: be careful what you wish for! Those skateboard rinks look dangerous to me! (maybe I'm just getting to old!). But, yea, your are right, kids do need stuff to do. Why not start something? Maybe start up an art club that meets once a week or so, or a music club or whatever.I bet you could find somebody to be in charge, use the church for the 'club house'.

i see nothing wrong with teen agers dancing also long as it isnt suggestive let them dance

Dancing at a teenagers birthday party should not be a problem. The parents of that child should be the ones who decide about the dancing unless they aren't paying for the party.

Depends on what kind of dancing. Some dancing is devilish and designed to provoke wrong thoughts and ideas. Innocent dancing at a kids or teens party where there are chaperones and harmless fun, would be acceptable. Are the teens born again and have been taught the ways of God? This makes a big difference. They will be more willing to accept innocent dancing(maybe) than say, unsaved teens.Unsaved teens do not know the ways of God. So they are more likely to scoff at innocent dancing.

I see nothing wrong with it, if it has decency and order. Here where I live, the only thing the kids have to do is go to the movies. And even that costs alot of money. We don't have anything for the kids to do. And yet people wonder why the kids get into trouble. If we had something for the kids to do, like a skateboard ramp or something of that nature. We wouldn't have to worry about the kids as much.

I think dancing is OK, as long as it is not suggestive. Some of the dancing kids do today is, but I think our bodies naturally want to move to music. People can dance without making it obscene.

In general Yes, it is dependent on the nature of the dancing and the level and competency of adult supervision.
