yes, but don't expect to get anywhere.

Keep Jesus first and everything else will be added unto you.

With God's help, YES. I do not know how men and women can make laws and enforce laws and themselves disobey God's laws. Telling everybody what to do when they themselves are not fit to be in society. When God's laws are not being kept by its leaders or lower classman such as police officers, society as a whole is going to go DOWN HILL. I can already see this happening.

God says to get in there!Ephesians 6
11Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Therefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and, having done all, to stand.

I think God wants us in there! He says be an ambassador for Him! Ephesians 6
16Above all, take the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God,19And pray for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel,20for which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak

The proof of the benefits of Christians in politics is Wilberforce's decades-long campaign against slavery. There were "compromises" on the way to dismantle this odious institution incrementally. Now we need a similar long campaign to get rid of the evil of prenatal baby butchery.

Yes, with God all things are possible. The trouble is, we don't have any. If so, where are they?
---Rebecca_D on 7/31/07

Mike and Lisa some good points you made there. The answer is, with God's help, yes.

And Lisa I don't think, I know>>> At mercy of the unbelievers. May God help us all. ++

well, if we don't get Christians in Government then we are at the mercy of the non-Christians don't you think. So i think we need Christians in Congress, Governors , Mayors etc..
We can make a difference!

Jesus did not give up simply because he was not liked by the local "politicians" of the times. I believe we need more believers serving in politics, and if that is where someone feels led, then they should pursue it and not give up. But they should have the support around them to hold them up and help them avoid the temptations that can come with such a position.

No. Politics & being a chrisitan doesn't mix on many levels. though you CAN believe & follow God & serve, it's freewill, but you have to choose either one master or the other, the world views or God. you can't choose both or one will consume over the other.

It's possible but I don't think so. If you did survive ,you would have to practically deny your faith and beliefs. You have to compromise a lot to fit in. You would basically be an outsider. Politics is a dirty, back-handed business. No true Christians who wants to make a difference, would bother with politics. Not worth the risks involved. But. Who knows?
---Robyn on 7/31/07

Absolutely not!!! To vacate one's position of certainty and in doing so take a position where one must constantly compromise is the very height of folly.
---Mima on 7/31/07

I met one GOP candidate whose own party machine basically abandoned him because he was too pro-life. And of course, the Dems have become the party of partial birth abortion and gay marriage.

But since government is ordained by God (Rom. 13), it is folly for Christians to give it up to the secularists.
---Ktisophilos on 7/31/07

Yes, but it is a very difficult challenge. I know several Christian friends who lost their support from their local party officials because they would not get down and dirty with the party.
