Sabrina, what is it you don't believe? And why? Just wondering, you seem so bitter, dear.
---Mary on 9/5/07

" I am 58YO diagnosed ADD anxious depressive.

I follow "Conservative Evangelical teachings". Life is can be hell. Some make my life hard, "Conservative Evangelical Christians" cannot tolerate those who are "different",

" I have asked questions and challenged the established aristocracy of those churches. Give love encouragement and complements daily
---Oscar on 7/7/05"

Or compliment yourselves?
---Tim on 9/5/07

Uh huh. I really believe that one. Not.
---Sabrina on 9/4/07

Hi Sabrina, I understand your point, but I only use Mary, with a capital M on all my posts. I am just soooooooooooo weary of all the bickering and accusing of multiple names on this blog--not just to me but I've seen so many people accused of it and it's just really wearying. Anyway God bless. Mary
---Mary on 9/4/07

Sabina I actually am 69 years young today, sorry I didn't make it clear. I started counting from time I was saved age 11 and began study of the Bible more which makes it 58 years.Ha ha I think most are younger than me.
---Darlene_1 on 9/4/07

Darlene1, Cynthia1, that is interesting, Kathr4453 is 58 also. But all of you gals are at different ages. Holly is 48 and good gracious, Marcia was only 23.
---Sabrina on 9/4/07

Thank you Darlene1 Please let me know how you do on the test.. I promise I will hold on to the chair if you do better.
---catherine on 9/3/07

Catherine,I'll take the test and see how I do.
---Darlene_1 on 9/3/07

Catherine,I found the test and took it,that was fun. I am afraid you don't really want to hear what I made,it was 96,I missed one question, but keep in mind I have been studying the Bible thoroughly for 58 years tomorrow,my birthday, and reading or having it read to me since very young child. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 9/3/07

Linda, I find it less than interesting to keep 'catherine's game face on as a hillbilly from Arkansas.
---Jaclyn on 9/3/07

Mary, one of your testimonies was identical to Holly's, Donna's.
It was the one about the sperm whale.
So naturally, I am skeptical, especially when jessica always has someone on the verge of dying or recently dying.
---Sabrina on 9/3/07

I will tell you what's up. I keep getting a 64 on that there diet Bible quiz. How are the rest of you people doing on that one? No braggers please. Just kidding.
---catherine on 9/3/07

Sabrina, I have to respond to this: I am Mary, and my best friend's sister, Linda, is suffering from heart failure, please DO NOT MOCK a very serious situation. That is not cool, dear.
---Mary on 9/2/07

PineyWoods, thanks for the prayer. I too pray for others on here and include everyone. That is so good for us to lift up oneanother in the love of the Lord. Doesn't the Bible say something to the order of pray ye one for another and so fulfill the law of love? God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 9/2/07

Well Mary you are Linda, aka Holly Donna.
You come in a sweeter package than all of the rest.
So Linda, do you really have congestive heart failure? It is hard to know when you are telling the truth. By the way, you are also jessica, that has everyone dying on her, all the time.
---Sabrina on 9/2/07

I like to pray for real people

NV Barbara - I will pray for your family.
John - in need of finances, I'm praying for your family.
Trish, Darlene - praying for you
Rebecca - praying for you

These are not churchy glib words, politically correct - I don't believe in lying. Telling others you'll pray and actually do not. My yes is yes - I'm praying for you.

Hi, I know it's for September, but couldn't find that one so here goes: I promised my best friend today that I would ask for prayer for her big sister, Linda. She just found out Linda is suffering, among other things, congestive heart failure. :( I've lost a sibling and don't want my friend to have to suffer the same, God allowing, thanks.
---Mary on 9/2/07

Hiya, sorry I don't get to a 'puter often. My sister who fell has been moved to a rehab facility ,one knee is fractured & she can put no weight on it. Her broken ribs are healing slowly. Being a juvenile diabetic slows down her healing. She also has Rheumatoid & Osteoarthritis among other ills. Another sister will have surgery on the 19th. PLEASE keep us all in your prayers! Steve is arriving here on Thurs. to stay a while here in S.C.,I'll be SO glad to see him! TY for all the prayers! Hugs!
---NVBarbara on 9/1/07

That's a good thing to encourage one another, and it would be a tough job, Trish.
We are getting a sample of what you must go through at the hospital on these blogs.
Do you see any breakthroughs, some that overcome and merge back into the world?
---Bob on 8/27/07

Dory Lory, thanks that sounds a whole lot better than having surgery,it's worth a try. Trish,You are welcome,it is a shame how Christians and those who are suspose to love someone the most crucify their wounded.

Raine: I will only be working two nights a week for a few hours teaching GED classes for 8 weeks a semester. My hospital job is only every other weekend during the school year.

The caregivers learn to detach and talk to each other for support. Many are believers, as I work with four other Christian therapists in my department. My colleague has Christian prayers and scriptures on a bulletin board above her desk. We listen to a gospel station in the office when we are not on the units.
---Trish9863 on 8/26/07

Darlene, my mother-in-law was scheduled for surgery for Carpal Tunnel. Someone told her to go to the health food store and get some Coral Calcium. I'm not sure what it is but she didn't need the surgery after that.
---DoryLory on 8/26/07

You're going to have a third job, don't wear yourself out
Trish, how do the caregivers keep their own hearts from becoming heavy. It would be difficult to see that much sadness and despair on a daily basis. The bible study would be a very interesting to sit in on. I'll pray for that group. Are there any ministers that volunteer their time there?
---Raine on 8/23/07

Anyone know--how are NVBarbara and her sisters? God bless them and hope they are all doing better.

Darlene, thank you for your kindness. Many times the patients in the hospital are written off by their families and friends because of their mental illnesses. All too often, they meet Christians who lay guilt on them telling them if they had more faith they would not be sick. They suffer terrible isolation and loneliness.
---Trish9863 on 8/23/07

Trish,I'll pray for them my heart is very touched by people who struggle with any form of emotional/mental illness. One of my dearest Christian friends had a problem. Even other Christians treated her like a leper, were so judgemental. When I met her she had already been sick off and on for years and suffered at others attitudes. She was so happy to have one person who accepted her for the sweet person she is. Sometimes what they need most is love and understanding, plus God's strength to heal.
---Darlene_1 on 8/23/07

I would appreciate prayers for some patients I have at the hospital. There are about 4-5 of them, and they are believers. They hold their own Bible study each day. They are struggling with serious mental illness, and it blesses me to see them support and encourage one another.
---Trish9863 on 8/22/07

Trish, Thanks for prayers. No pain isn't bad yet,I'm going to a different doctor,I have a ganglian cyst on that wrist also ,that doctor refused to remove it,think thats why no peace about CT surgery,I'll go to one that will. Later I'll have Carpal Tunnel surgery when cyst surgery heals. I'm so sorry to hear your back is still giving pain. Get you an othopedic cushion,it has a cut out in the back, takes the pressure off the spine when you sit. I will be praying for you that you are soon well.

Darlene: I hope you are not suffering too much from the pain associated with the carpal tunnel. I have been having on and off pain with my back from the car accident. I see my doc on Thursday, and I am hoping he refers me for physical therapy.

I will pray for you and your daughter with regard to her surgery, and your decision.

---Trish9863 on 8/20/07

Trish,I posted, last month , I was going to have Carpel Tunnel Surgery, well ,I'm not. I never could get a peace about doing it so I decided to cancel, however my daughter needed that surgery as soon as possible. I wrote the doctor a note telling him why I needed to cancel, she took it to the doc today, and they agreed to cancel mine and give Sept 6 to her instead. I told her I just thought God had me make that appointment because she was going to need it before I did,Ha ha,God does work in mysterious ways.

Trish,it is always fun to shop for something special, especially when you have changed yourself so much and get to get into smaller sizes. I too have to order my shoes cause I'm hard to fit. The only time I get all dolled up like that is for cruises and now I have so many cruise clothes I don't get to shop,my size doesn't change much. Have a blessed time at the wedding.

I am currently working on a palentological site in rural eastern washington state. It is mostly undergrads doing the field work. 90% of the work is sorting and is very tedious. My education is in biology, but grad's from many fields are here. At night we sometimes have lively religious/philosophical discussions and thats the best part. All here accept evolution and none are atheist-but there are no fundamentalist here, as I imagine this whole environment would be most highly objectionable to them.
---MikeM on 8/17/07

Some things can be taught, and some things have to be caught. Discernment isn't something that comes from a book.
Many are catching on, finally. JohnT had it figured out long ago. Daphne tried in a polite manner.
It's getting down to the roots now, pride is exposing the ungodliness of it all.
Many would like to have the good bloggers back on CN. That won't happen until this blatant spiritual game stops.
---Francis on 8/17/07

You can write to me if you have my non-ChristiaNet email address, if not, I don't have a profile on here anymore. I will be praying for you my friend ((((big hug))).

Darlene: Yes, it was a blessing. I took Isabel for a 40 minute walk this afternoon. They go home tomorrow. I will see her in a couple of weeks at the wedding in Illinois.

I got my dress for the wedding today. I am excited about that. I had to order shoes, as I have trouble finding them in my size and I hate shopping for them. I did get the evening bag though.

We leave for the wedding in two weeks.

There were in the past, at one time three separate Donnas all writing at the same time! They were definitely different people, with different styles and beliefs.
Francis has done well to track all these multiples over the years ... But one question remains ... Who else is he?

I don't believe that Marcia. I don't think Donna has ever left the blogs, just moved on to other names.
Marcia, you've been here a long time you said. Were you not Linda Smith at one time, also. I think her nickname was Virtuous for the Proverbs woman (Virtue), no Marcia, I don't believe you.
---Francis on 8/14/07

Trish, I am so glad for you getting to see Isabel ,isn't that her name, grandchildren are such a blessing and joy. A new member of your family coming up since your son is getting married, thats nice. Francis, if you do a PROFILE lookup, you will find that Donna has been off this board for many months. Why are you gunning for Donna? Why not put your eyes and heart on the Lord Jesus, meditate on the Power of the Blood of Jesus instead of spending your energy attacking Donna. I feel so sorry for you. Prayer requests are important, sometimes it's an emergency. Some of us don't use the chat rooms or dating feature, and we see it here on the What's Up.
Darlene, is the lapband out the question now or are you still searching. I'll gladly be in prayer agreement for whatever you decide.
Yes, after surgery, parents overdo. Why, I think some of it is denial. "I'm as good as I always was", and I'm going to fight harder to be even stronger.
---Raine on 8/14/07

You have a Confused Spirit, I am not Donna, or Kathr, or any of these woman you are accusing me of being. I am simply Marcia. I have never changed my name since I've been on here. I have only used my nickname and when I saw the confusion it started, I repented and never used it again. This was when I was a first time blogger in June/July. You Owe me an apology for calling me names and you also Owe the other woman on here an apology for assuming them to be crazy.
---Marcia on 8/14/07

Donna also uses many names, but many can identify those. Donna gets mad with her alternate names but she doesn't change her beliefs as Kathr4453 does.
That's the disturbing aspect, you enjoy leading bloggers/readers down a path. Your mind takes a twist, and you go down another denominational path. Are you doing this simply for fun, are you taking classes in theology and helping yourself out with your homework?

Karen: Sometimes people post their problem on What's Up to get prayer. That is what I see happening. Good and bad happen in our lives. Most recently, I had to deal with both. I had a joyous occassion with the birth of my granddaughter two months ago, but then a few weeks ago I totaled my car and hurt my back. We have to take the bad with the good.
---Trish9863 on 8/14/07

Hi everyone. I have been having a blast with my granddaughter these past few weeks. She has been in town and I have just been amazed at how cute she is. She leaves for Michigan tomorrow. I will miss her, but will see her over Labor Day weekend at my son's wedding.
---Trish9863 on 8/14/07

Raine, I think that pushing one's self is a pretty usual thing with some people who are recovering from a serious health problem as they get older. I nearly flipped when Mom started walking several blocks after hip surgery. Hot weather made her stop. All we can do is pray God and their own body will tell them to slow down. To all with parents who start to have failing health it is just pray and take one day at a time. It's hard to see and hard to become the caregiver to our caregivers.
---Darlene_1 on 8/14/07

I am Madison. I try to ignore some of the borderline stuff because I work in a psychiatric hospital all day long and grow weary of it here.

John T has shown up on occassion, but he is tired of some of the nonsense going on, especially with the people who change names anonymously. I have been open about my name change. I just chose to stop using Madison, and decided to post my username so people could e-mail me privately.
---Trish9863 on 8/13/07

Maybe the long-term bloggers got sick of seeing all the questions from Mormons who are trying to promote their religion. Or maybe they just got sick of seeing all the negative comments. Seems like everytime the What's Up Blog comes up anymore it is just about what problems everyone is having. That gets old fast! It's like the same people are having problems over and over. Or, maybe the rest of us are putting our problems in the Lord's hand instead of telling them to everybody on here.
---Karen on 8/13/07

Francis >>>

I see you are a Catholic, that explains why you don't agree with my theology. You believe God created Purgatory and that we our prayers for the dead will help them obtain salvation in Christ.
---Marcia on 8/13/07

I'm sorry you feel that way Francis, I don't claim to know everything, I'm learning like everyone else. No, I don't play games, however I do from time to time loosen up and try to have fun every now and then. You don't have to trust my theology. Theology means the study of God. I am not a teacher but a disciple. Also Francis, you haven't been on here long, I checked your credit history and it is very low, which means your a new blogger or your using a fake name. I have been here longer then you beloved.

We had an awesome message at church from a Campus Crusade missionary that also is a deacon in our church. It was a challenge to the young people, as well as the congregation. There is such a need for ministries to the teens and young adults out there. Satan is attacking them on all sides, and we need to strengthen our outreach to them.

I replaced my car today. I did something totally unexpected by my family, and got a car the same make and model as the one I totaled, same color, just different year, with a spoiler and sun roof. Dory: Praise the Lord for the gift of weight loss. I will pray for your parents.

Raine: I love dogs and cats and the joy they seem to bring when we need it most. Mom is heading back to her home 2 hours away. I am praying she is able to continue her independent lifestyle a while longer. She will be 81 in a month.

I am going car shopping tomorrow. Pray I find the car the Lord wants me to have at the price He wants me to spend.

I also am feeling a little insecure as the role of care-giver seems to be shifting from my parents to my siblings and I. My dad has a lung disease and difficulty breathing. He also has glaucoma and very little vision left. My mom had a mild stroke last Friday, which was her 76th birthday.

As for weight loss though, the Lord has done a miracle in me. So far I am down 40 pounds since May 1st. I have NEVER been able to lose weight on my own (unless I was fasting). But look what the Lord has done!

Yes, Trish (Madison), it's very difficult. Our parents are role models for strength, security when we're growing up. The bonds we share are so strong.
My Sophie dog showed up at the right time. When I have sleepless nights, I get up and talk to God and my dog (God spelled backwards). She sleeps at the foot of my bed. Her eyes open when I'm up. She sleeps when I sleep. Some days her eyes are all droopy from lack of sleep, too. She and mother both like my leafy lettuce.
