How Many Did Jesus Save

A friend and I have just completed two days of witnessing at a county fair. We heard with our ears 156 people ASK the Lord Jesus Christ to come into their hearts and lives and save their souls. How many of these people do you believe Jesus saved?

Mima - I'd like to ask you a question. After these people get saved after saying the sinner's prayer, what follow up is given to them. Do you point them to a church, or maybe give them your telephone number? Or do you assure them they are now saved and leave them there?

Mima ... Your method does not seem to say anything about why the prospect needs to be saved. Saved from what? It says nothing of how Jesus saves. There seems to be nothing to say that we all sin, even when we lead what we try to make good lives.
Or do you say those things in advance, so to speak?

The problem I have with a formulaic "sinner's prayer" is this:
We pray to God for salvation, and we expect him to ABSOLUTELY save us - otherwise God is a liar.

But people similarly pray to God to heal them (which hs has also promised to do), but it often doesn't happen. Does THIS make God a liar?

How is it that we can be assured that God will save us, but not be assured that he will heal us, since has promised to do both?

a outline.

# 1 May I ask you a question? If No, walk on, dont pursue. If Yes, proceed.
Are you absolutely, positively, certain sure, no doubt in your mind, that if you died this moment you would go to heaven? (silence we are waiting for the conviction of the Holy Spirit dont encourage conversation until they respond.)
Here is what the scriptures say 3 different times in the Bible.

#2- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (brief pause)
Do you want to call on the name of the Lord? (if no, drop them, if yes,) Im going to tell you in 21 words how to call on the name of the Lord. Then Ill prove to you how you are saved.
Pray after me: Lord Jesus, thank you for coming into my life. Forgive me of my sins. Save my soul. I accept you now.

#3--Pray after me: Lord Jesus, thank you for coming into my life. Forgive me of my sins. Save my soul. I accept you now.
Then ask, do you have any different feeling now that you have prayed? (if yes) That is the Holy Spirit stirring your body,
Now lets go back to what the Bible said. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Now we are certain you called on the name of the Lord. I heard you, you heard yourself, and God heard you.

#4-Under those conditions, only 2 things can exist.
You are saved now and forever or
God is a liar------- which do you think it is, are you saved or is God a liar?
There is your proof from the Word of God

#6-and is this outline that we to work with and it has been very very effective. I have never had a person to tell not to ask the question. I would be very interested in talking to you about soulwinning I am mima 3783 at penpals sent me a message.

Mima I am always witnessing and sometimes I even use words but in these times it is increasingly difficult. I try to remind myself that what we in this country term persecution is a joke.
Please share how you witnessed to people that had such a dramatic effect.

---alan_of_UK-- the reason I ask the question was that maybe by asking that question some of our fellow bloggers(Christians all) will review their own desires and results concerning soulwinning. Why should two old men be so successful in winning others to the Lord???? If a person can overlook my foolish sinful pride in mentioning these numbers, and take into account their own numbers(people their have been won to the Lord) the question will have served its purpose.
---Mima on 8/8/07

Mima ... In that case, you clearly say that they were all saved.
Why then ask us what we think?

---Jack-my friend and I have an idea that salvation is gained by calling on the name of the Lord. Strangely we use scriptures like this Romans 10:13,"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." And Acts 2:21," And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." We just kind of believe the Bible!! Are these scriptures not in your Bible?? Or do you just not believe the scriptures???

Where did you and your friend get the idea that the quick-decision-for-Jesus-RIGHT-NOW was the same thing as salvation?
---Jack on 8/7/07

Wow! What a great two days you had!
Rom.10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Apparantly at least 156 people heard the gospel as long as you weren't paying them then you have no reason to believe that they all weren't saved. But the average crusade after one year produced from 2% - 10% of people who were still attending church. But does church attendence equal salvation?
---Andrea on 8/6/07

It's not the quantity that counts, but the quality. Read the Parable of the Sower.

The new testament doesn't document everything Jesus did so we don't know for sure.

No one knows but God for he knows how many hairs on your head. Remember, God promised Abraham that his nation/descendants shall number the stars in heaven in which Christians are grafted into that heritage.

Only the ones that God chose to offer is Grace to will be saved. No person can not initiate the transaction. God chooses who he shall chose and rejects those He shall reject and the reason is his alone to know.

Only a fool would try to keep score on God's choices.
---Phil_the_Elder on 8/6/07

Mima ... How should we know? Why do you ask us?
But WELL DONE, anyway.
---alan_of_UK on 8/6/07

Mima, You might have heard with your ears, but God sees a persons heart. all who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Only God knows if they had true repentance and a sincere heart, That they understood and heard with their heart that they needed to be saved and forgiven for their sins.
---Cynthia on 8/6/07

If you believe the Bible, consider John 6:37" that says," All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, AND HIM THAT COMETH TO ME I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT!!!" Is it possible and all 156 received their salvation from the Lord? after their ask for it????

We weren't there, I don't know.
How many do you think were saved?
---Bob on 8/6/07

Mima, only Jesus knows. It probably wasn't everyone who asked because some might not have asked sincerely and with repentence but WE cannot possibly know. Many say the sinners prayer without truly understanding or meaning what they say. The only way you will know is if you keep in touch and follow the lives of each and every one to see how they 'turn out' in time.
