Under Generational Curse
I am newly saved out of a long line of atheists, rebellious generations. I feel God has called me to "stand in the gap" for my family but I am getting serious counter attacks from Satan and now have poor health. I shall keep praying but am I still under a generational curse?

Jeff maybe you need to stop trying and start trusting. It makes no difference what anyone says happened to them. God deals with each of us personally. Many of these folks have misguided you with "experiences." What God has written is truth. Read the Bible and forget all of someone else's experiences.
Read John and then Romans.
Remember Salvation is not dependent upon you doing something. It is what Jesus has done for you. By faith accept it.

Wow Jeff that is really heartbreaking, man. I would recommend you look up a DVD or book from a guy named Jim Hohnberger. He doesn't teach any doctorines, just tells his family's story about moving out in the wilderness to be closer to God, and what he found. I was amazed when I heard a few of his sermons because I had never heard anything like it.

Hi Jeff, I'm sorry :( You are in my prayers.

Saved? By who? For years and years I sought out "God," only to be met with, silence, nothing. Nothing changed. No answers, no communication, I wasn't even looking for flashy miracles.
All I found were Self-righteous people spouting off christian lingo, boasting of God talking to them, being led or answers to prayer. For 25 + years I've found nothing, except, my programming by two people and a world that is profoundly negative and deceptive.
What ever you do, don't tell me I didn't try.

Moderator's a hundred percent right. The generational curses spoken of in the Bible are, I think, more of God's natural law of the universe...action and reaction...a woman does drugs while she's pregnant, her child suffers for her sins...a man gambles away all his money and his children are poor because of his sin...Adam and Eve fell...now we're all born with sinful natures.

Perhaps you overlooked Exodus 34:7:
"Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation."

Ah, you need to break every generational curse for a 1000 generations back...Yes, We have been redeemed from the curse of the Law...However,there are curses that you need to take Authority over and break their power...There are word curses and there are generational curses...And you must break their power...concerning your family...Do not be deceived...Choose Life & Blessings or death & curses...This is still a Spiritual Law...

Generation curses>>>Thus one generation must tell God's acts and write them down for the next generation.>>[Ps. 22:30-31] "Help, Lord, for the godly man ceaseth, for the faithful fail from among the children of men" [Ps.12:8].+++The end.

Thank you Moderator!>>The ungodly man is convinced that he may make any claim, tell any lie, voice any deception and not stand under Judgment for his actions. But this is not the case, for now will I arise, thus saith the Lord thy God.>>>God has given His name Yahweh to be remembered through all generations. He is the refuge for all generations. The danger is that a generation will arise that does not know Yahweh>[Ps. 12]. Please read more:

I agree that when you were saved all curses are broken. God sent His son that we might have life. Poor health could be just that. There is a natural course to things in life. If you eat to much you get a belly ache. Some instances it is a spiritual attack. Question is what do doctors say. Can it be medically explained what is wrong or no matter how many test ran all is normal. Usually if there is no medical cause for a person being poor in health then it is possibly a spiritual attack. Eph 6:12

There is no such thing as a generational curse. This is one of the superstitions of pop-evangelicalism.

The Moderator is right. Please Read- Ezekiel 18:2-4,19-32+ Jeremiah 31:27-34.

You are not under any curse. You parents will be held accountable for what they have taught you. Just like nobody can pray you into heaven or get you saved. That is you decision and yours alone. You can't even save yourself. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Demons are real. They can only torment you if you allow them to. You may have a need to close some doors in your life where satan has a stronghold. Galatians 3:13 TNIV Read this chapterChrist redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole." [ Deut. 21:23]

Linda's reply may have left you discouraged and indeed wondering whether you are truly a Christian, since you have this ill health.
Christ promises an eternal future filled with joy when we are with God.
He does not promise to heal all our physical ills, nor does he promise us that we will not die physically.
Ill health may follow a genetic family weakness, but that does not make it a curse from Satan. God may not cure mortal illness, but He will give us the spiritual strength to endure it.

Jack, David and yoshin sorry but all of you are wrong. Curses do exhist, Satan does send sickness and God definitely does not want us in poor health and poverty. The moderator is right. Now YOU must stand on the Word and believe what it says. By His stripes you were healed.Do what your doctor says but do what the Word says too.

I agree with the moderators answer. I also would encourage you to pray that the Lord wuold sent ministering spirits to the spirits of your relations that are lost. Since it is God's will that all should be saved you know you are praying in God's will therefore you can be very positive and very blod. Read 1st John 14-15 or more understanding, Be encourage don't give up!!

If you illness began after your decision it is understandable. It is not Satan, it is your mind. Even if you were a Christian from a Christian family and decided to become an Atheist, you would become ill. There is always alienation from the rest of group. Your mind is fighting with you. You feel like you have to be defensive, relax.

Celeste, being begotten of God is the same as being re-gen-erated. In other words, you are a new generation. In regards to your health, by His stripes we were healed. You have the authority, given you by God Himself, over every symptom and disease manifestation in your body. Use the authority He has given you.
"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us--for cursed is every man who hangeth upon a tree."

Welcome to the fine blessings of God"anything you have worked for, obtained,or anything of that nature you might as well kiss it all goodbye.God wants you to be like Christ, homeless, poor, sick, unemployed, and walk everywhere you go.It's just part or being a christian welcome to poverty on earth.
