The Bible says that Parents should rear children up in the way that, they should go!

It is biblical for us to teach our childrn the scriptures.
2ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, ...
How did Timmothy learn? Probably from his mother and grandmother (1 Tim 1:5).
Also see Prov. 4:1, and Prov. 22:6
Also, the husband is not left out.
Eph 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Personally, I believe Christian parents should tell their children about Jesus Christ and teach them what the Bible says, and if their children tune them out and they probably will, at least the seed is planted and then maybe they will turn to Jesus down the road.

The truth is children are being exposed to this world from birth, so it is up to the parents to teach(impose) Christ from birth too. This secular society will not do that.

It is absolutely vital that Christian parents impose their beliefs on their children. If we don't teach them our values you'd better believe it that others will teach them theirs. Young people are ripe pickings for religious sects these days e.g. Moonies, and if they have no beliefs and standards of their own they will pick up on someone else's. Satan knows that everyone needs to believe in something and he is delighted if they believe anything except the truth.

Damalie, according to the Bible it is absolutely essential. Of course as children grow up they will need to sort things out for themselves, but while they are young, it is the responsibility of their parents to teach them everything they need to know to live in this world and to make it safely into the next in good time.

That is a major problem in society today. Parents know longer do that. They expect everybody else to bring up their kids for them (daycare centers, schools, and teachers) and why a majority of youngsters get lost and get into so much trouble. No direction from their parents. Parents like the fun of making them but not the responsibility of raising them.

If you do not teach youre children about your faith, then who is going to? No one else will do it. THe fact is that in this society, your children WILL be exposed to secular culture, world-views and beliefs. If you want them to be saved, tha tis your responsibility, it is not an imposition on their lives to give the option of accepting Jesus. FOr in the end, it is simply an option, and they may choose to forsake the religion.
Either way, they are certian to do so if you do not teach it to them.

Yes, Christian parents should instill Biblical truth into their children. Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it".

The bible tells us to teach our children & to meditate on God all day all night. Now when we teach them & they are old enough to choose for themselves we are not responsible for their choices, until then we are.

Its not only right, it's biblically mandated. Deuteronomy 6, vs 5-9
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.
