Simply Believe God
I just heard a sermon on God does not want us to ask questions or reason, he wants us to simply believe and have faith. If God gave us the ability to reason, why should we suppress this special gift?

To Whosoever has an ear to hear?
It's the ability to DISCERN good & evil that is the special gift.
Reasoning in not a gift or really all that special!! If it was not for the continuous drawing of God upon our hearts, we would never have anything good to reason with God about. Reasoning is just stating the facts as we know them. But we will never have all the facts, so we'll never be able to reason out the TRUTH.
The Lord wants us to believe & have faith based on the discerning truth from His Spirit.
God welcomes us to ask questions by trying Him in the Spirit, but not to ask questions only to get in a reasoning debate with Him.
Understanding of the Word of God is only received through discernment.

Moderator... I attended a Word of Faith church for 12 yrs. I was constantly asking questions and reasoning things out. My Pastors had no problem with that because that is how we learn and grow stronger in the Lord. We were encouraged to study and ask questions. Even God says, Come let us reason together. Please do not lump all WF into one.

Sounds like somebody needs to read the book by Josh McDowell You Don't Have To Check Your Brains At The Door.

Yes He wants us to be like children & simply put our faith in Him, but no where in the bible does it say "don't question God".
As a matter of fact it shows us that we should ask.(Philippians 4:6, Matthew 7:7, 1John 5:14-15, Matthew 21:22)

Judging from the moderators response the WORD of Faith Church must be apostate?

I do not attend the questioned church. Being a musician I visit many types of churches. Ironically it was a Mennonite church, they mainly believe in works. The theme was that God was intellectually beyond humans so humans should not question anything. The scripture was Job. Some verses from God were obviously metaphoric, like a storehouse where all hail is stored.

Speaking of what people believe and do not believe I had this experience.
While witnessing after telling a Spanish speaking man through an interpreter what the Bible says, the man said I do not believe you, okay I said, and showed him in a Spanish Bible. The man immediately went to his knees and started crying and calling on the name of the Lord for his salvation!!!

Questions/reason are fine.To think the complex human body and the rest of CREATION evolved is unreasonable. Proof and faith are opposites. We are saved by grace through faith. Read Hebrews chapter eleven. It is impossible to please God without faith. The Bible says that creation itself is proof. The Bible says some things will remain a mystery until the return of Jesus. Ask for wisdom and have faith that you will receive it. God says if you seek Me, you will find Me, if you seek Me with all of your heart.

Here is the answer to your question.
"Come now, let us reason together,"
says the LORD .
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow,
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool."
Very few pastors invite close scrutiny of what they say.

moderator - one sermon does not a church make.
probably referring to a gift or blessing. This is not good theology but at times it may beat fighting through the rhetoric.
"little children" - we are called this many times in the bible - it does not mean we follow deception

There is a saying, "If along with your hat and coat you have to check in your brains at the front door, your in the wrong church."
Docternal contrivnces such as 'dont think, we will do it for you are simply devices for keeping people stupid so they can be controled. The scripture says, "Come let us join in the renewing of our mind."
