How Are Christians Judged
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
what did we do with Paul's gospel?
---michael_e on 12/12/10|
This is an old post, but since search engines are still displaying it, I thought I'd comment.
This is a great question and God is clear in His answer:
As born again Christians, we are indeed saved by grace through the work of Christ and will not be judged for our sins unto condemnation.
Eph 2:8, Rom 8:1.
As far as the east is from the west so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
But, as born again Christians, we will definitely be judged according to our deeds and rewarded or penalized accordingly.
1 Pet 4:17, Rom 14:10-12, 1 Cor 3:12-14, 2 Cor 5:10.

All will be judged by their actions. Those who reject the Son of man at his appearance, bring condemnation upon themselves.
---duke on 12/15/07|
Those whom Christ died for (christians, sheep, chosen, elect, beloved, we love Him b/c He FIRST loved us) are already judged in Christ. That's why it's is called grace
That's why God's say make your calling and election sure and examine yourself wether you be in the faith
hope that helps

Mima, you make a good point concerning the dead.
Mt 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
I thank God that he has made me spiritually alive.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

Here is a verse for some of you to consider:
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
(Note the sentence keeps going)
Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
If Christ has carried my sins away and nailed them to the cross, how can I be judged for them?
---trey on 9/25/07|
Mima, (who never answers me anyway) There's only one reward for Christians "the gift of God is eternal life:! just as there's only one penalty "the wages of sin is death". Is that really too simple?? Adam just lost our chance to keep on living, but thankfully Jesus Christ bought it back for us...get it?

To Ashley--- at penpals I am mima 3783 and I invite you to contact me if you would like to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to your personal savior. Mormons get saved sometimes too.
---Mima on 9/20/07|
Mima - I bet you haven't been accused of that in awhile. Ashley is busy reading the Book of mormon, but I'll bet she'd love to know for sure if she was going to heaven.
where did you preach last - ok I remember you do it every day - it always amazes me how people can say things to insult people with out hesitating and have no remorse for it
be blessed Mima
---Andrea on 9/20/07|
---ashley-here is the scripture you refer to Revelation 20:12"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." Not one word here about the righteous being judged. The righteous are not among the dead, the dead are made up of those who die lost!
---Mima on 9/20/07|
Mima: you just proved to everyone here you haven't read the bible. it is written "And the books were opened and the dead were JUDGED according to their works, both male and female, young and old, bond and free and both the wicked and the RIGHTEOUS." which part of that scripture don't you understand. it just blew your theory the righteous won't be judged in one scripture. time for you to try again. the bible doesn't lie but apparantly many here do.
---ashley on 9/19/07|
Christians can never faced judgment for their sins, why, because the Lord Jesus Christ paid for all sin on the cross of Calvary. Christians will stand judgment for the rewards they are to receive. If you are a Christian I would ask you this question, what rewards will you receive at Jesus's second coming?
---Mima on 9/19/07|
I believe once a person believes that Jesus is the Son of God and died for our sins`and then rose after 3 days,is saved. This means also that all past, present, and future sins are washed clean from the slate, never to be remembered.Christian`s will be rewarded according to their deeds.

"it never ceases to amaze me how so many can profess the bible and not understand it."
That's because they didn't have to study the Bible in order to become a member. We took something like 32 lessons over as many weeks. And then in Sabbath school we go through a book or a topic each quarter--with a page for each day.

it never ceases to amaze me how so many can profess the bible and not understand it.
---ashley on 9/11/07
It amazes me that any one that follows after the fables that Joseph Smith taught could accuse someone else of not understanding the bible.
---andre5846 on 9/14/07|
That depends on your definition of christians. As followers of Jesus, chosen and elect, there is no 'condemnation' (advese sentence against) those of us who abide in Him. For through our trust in and reliance upon Him, we do not set our course in life based upon the dictates of our senses, but rather the insight and inspiration of the Father, empowered in and through Christ. We know, and confess, that we have been made free, for Christ sake, from the judgement of the law of sin and death.
---joseph on 9/14/07|
2. Jesus said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears My word, and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into 'condemnation' (accusation, damnation, or judgement): but has passed from death to life. He that rejects Me, and receives not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day" A man will be justified or condemned by his words, which reflects his belief, according to your faith, be it unto you.
---joseph on 9/14/07|
The Lord said our own words would justify or condemn us and it is written every morning he brings forth his judgments to light.
Look them up. They are in there.
I don't need to back up scripture I wrote in simple terms so anyone, such as babes in Christ could understand. Mainly when I worded them very similar as to how they are written in the King James Bible.
Just look them up.
---Frank on 9/13/07|
Ashley , It never ceases to amaze me that so many misread the text. Put the comma where it belongs "after" TODAY.(punctuation was invented 14th century) Christ preached to those in Tarterus in Noah's day not at crucifixion. Don't you believe that Jesus was dead for parts of 3 days? When you're dead you're immobile.
---1st_cliff on 9/11/07|
The Bible says:
# 2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
---Lisa on 9/11/07|
Frank you need to back that up with scripture I do not believe what you say is true. We are under GRACE I have been redeemed Righteous when I accept Jesus Christ in My heart God see's Me through the Blood ALL My Sins past present future is gone. You are living under the law from what I see. I am Judged righeous and so is anyone eles that accepts Jesus as there Lord and Savior
---denise on 9/11/07|
The word says that every morning he brings forth his judgment to light.
We are judged by our words, thoughts and actions every day as a first witness.
At the judgment seat of Christ any witnesses against us will be the second witness to establish a matter and damn us.
It goes beyond goody-goody grace and our thoughts, words and actions better line up with the word of God.
---Frank on 9/11/07|
Rita. Jesus told the thief on the cross, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. if you tell your son today I will be with you, if he dies, do you climb into his grave with him and die. why did Jesus bother having his apostles write things? Jesus taught the spirits in prison that were disobedient in the time of Noah. after his crucifixion. if they are in graves with their spirits, did Jesus climb into every grave? it never ceases to amaze me how so many can profess the bible and not understand it.
---ashley on 9/11/07|
If our sins have been forgiven and forgotten God is not going to hold them against us. Regarding Cliff's response, I believe that when we die we stay in our grave (or whatever - depending on the way we died) until God opens the grave and judgement takes place. I do not believe that some will be in hell, removed for judgement then sent back to hell. I don't see that in scripture.

Mt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, ...
Mt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: ...
Mt 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Mt 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
On the final day, God's people stand justified before him (Rom 8:33).

Christians will be judged for their unconfessed sins, their words, thoughts, and actions. They will also be judged on how they lived their lives (holy, or unholy).

Corinthians 5:10, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."
Fortunately Christ took our punishment.
"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
---Andrea on 9/9/07|
One thing I could never understand is that fundamentalists insist that at death one goes to heaven or a burning fire (this is a judgement) Then sometime later (on judgement day) they are judged again?? Makes no sense to me!
---1st_cliff on 9/9/07|
first > "For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God, and if it begins with us
what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? " (1 Peter 3:17)
So, the ones who are right will be judged "first", NOT the ones who are wrong. Through this, I see that if I am the one who is right, in a problem with someone, God judges ME first. So, in dealing with the person, I need to first humbly submit to God, for how You judge me.
---Bill_bila5659 on 9/9/07|
The Bibles say Jesus will be the final judge.
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom,
We are not judged by works. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost,
