I just received a wonderful story that answers this question is the gospel of Jesus Christ complicated.
Yesterday, a new soulwinner, a lady of 50 years was preparing to go out and work a picnic when her a 11 year old daughter, said Mum, I would like to do this also. Where upon her mother gave her a little card, she studied the card, went to the picnic and led two people to the Lord Jesus Christ. While her mother led 10 people to the Lord. 11 years old, and I have never met her. I certainly intend to get too over the next few days. Let us praise God for a young person's witness!

No! Even a child can understand it.

"Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so."
---jerry6593 on 6/22/08

No the gospel is very Simple. Performance based religion is complicated.
---Hagere on 6/22/08

Well, God made us in His image, and mankind is a family being with three basic family persons, like God is three Family Persons in love sharing together.

And, God is everywhere-present and involved in all things. So I can see that He would come to this earth as a human and be in a family with "His brothers" and "His sisters" (Matthew 13:55-56), live life here, then be involved in suffering and death.
So it's . . . logical (o:

And because He "is love" (1 John 4:8 & 16), He rose from the dead to share all He has with us, so we also are loving "as He is . . . in this world." (1 John 4:17)

It is God's power. In some aspects not too complicated, in others it is complicated. Read on...[1] dynamite-destructive power, and [2] dynamo-constructine power, the gospel of Jesus Christ is both.>>>God's fierce wrath is revealed- [1] In the biblical account itself, [2] In the cross of Calvary, and [3] in the natural world [through tornadoes, earthquakes, famines, ect.] Who can understand it all?
---catherine on 6/20/08

About 2,014 years ago Omnipresent God, whom is present in all places at all times, put on flesh and became as a man in order to save man. And all whom put their faith in him and obey him will be saved. Simply put, The gospel is: Worship and obey Jesus saves the sinuous life. Please Read- Romans 10:13.
---Eloy on 6/20/08

It is written "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" 2 Tim. 3:16 God maybe infinite, but He understands our finite minds. Gospel means "Good news." Those who are in Christ should be able share that.
---chip on 6/19/08

Complicated Gospel? Thats because people dont want to hear the Gospel or its not preached anymore.
---duane on 10/11/07

The problem with America today is that we don't have enough hatred and intolerance. People love and tolerate sin today. We need to hate Sin and be absolutely intolerant of wickedness. That is, if we love people and if we love our nation. The devil is laughing this country right into hell. God is getting FED UP.
---catherine on 10/11/07

Not really. But to really understand you must study. >>>Moses also learned something of God's attribute especially His mercy and forgiveness, as well as His holiness, righteousness, and judgments. As a result, Moses bowed His head toward the earth, and worshiped before the Lord. God was personally present as He communicated verbally to Moses.
---catherine on 10/10/07

no, the gospel/good news is not complicated but simple, so that all are able to understand, just like little children. Much else of the bible may seem complicated without proper teaching, and revelation from the HS.
---christina on 9/17/07

alexia, that is your opinion on school then thats fine. I agree that we completely disagree on the matter and therefore I will not acknowledge you on this particular matter any further, I am not here to argue about God's word. But much of what I learned in seminary I had already learned before seminary through much personal study and alone time with God, the only reason I went is because its seems to be what man requires and that is one reason we have so many momma and daddy called preachers out there.
---evangelistjerry on 9/16/07

alexia, we do however seem to agree on one or two things and we can still continue fellowship because if we are both born again believers we should be able to get past the differences in opinion.
---evangelistjerry on 9/16/07

Inimicus: I plead to you in the name of Jesus. Stop and think. You have lost your focus. Your focus is on people and it should be on Jesus Christ. Take all of your prayers and concerns to the Lord. He will direct your path. I did the same thing. I lost my focus for over 20 years. Believe me. That was the greatest mistake of my life. In the end it won't matter what me or some preacher says. You will have to stand before Christ one day and give an account of your life. Please think about this.
---Robyn on 9/16/07

Father forgive them. As it seems to be a blanket pardon for all involved in Jesus' crucifixion [forgiveness- faith]. The word "forgive" here can also mean to "allow", IF this should be the case, Christ then would pray, "Father, allow them to crucify me". Thus the prayer would be a plea to stay the wrath of a righteous Father as He viewed His beloved Son being MURDERED by SINFUL MEN. Jesus' death 9 am April Friday suffered six hours gave up His spirit at three pm.
---catherine on 9/16/07

evang.Jerry, most people on here think they can read and then tell me what to think. The arrogance is astounding. I have no interest in basing my faith on anyone's personal interpretation. You denigrate all the work done by theologians and bible experts. Its a fraud in my opinion on your listeners to suggest you cant teach without long study in a decent school.

InimicusStultitiae, please don't give up. That would be such a waste of 55 years wouldn't it? I've looked up your last postings and would like to suggest - based on some of the things that you have said - that you read Isaiah (especially 53). This might help you get an answer to at least one of your questions. Bare in mind that the book of Isaiah was written about 700 years before Jesus was born.
---RitaH on 9/16/07

Not really. However, you must be born-again.
---catherine on 9/16/07

If I may let me interject one more thing, quite a few of those 10,000-30,000 different sects were started by seminary grads.
---evangelistjerry on 9/15/07

alexia, you read more into my post than what was there, I never said that anybody can teach the Bible, only if they are called of God to teach, but yes anyone that has the Spirit of God in them can understand the Bible. And as I tell others being rude is not the way to get a point across to anyone. God gives the Spirit of truth to those who seek it. I began preaching and teaching the Bible years before I even thought about going to seminary.

The gospel is not your denomination -

Jesus said to her [Martha], "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."

so easy you could miss it.
---andre5846 on 9/15/07

Thank you for all your responses. After reading the blogs on this site and learning how Christians act toward one another when covered by anonymity, Christianity has little appeal. Blessings to you anyway.
---InimicusStultitiae on 9/15/07

Inimicus...you posted a sad but truthful post. Please don't give up. Fifty five (55) years is a long time. You could have gone to Seminary by this time and gotten a better understanding of the faith. You have invested a lot of time. You need to get witha mature Christian, preacher, bible teacher or someone who can help you. It shouldn't take this long for you to have a basic understanding of anything. I will pray for you that the Lord will give you understanding and wisdom. Love

robyn, I assume most folks do that. That responds not at all to my statment. I'm not a new christian as you so presumptuously assume. I have post-graduate work in theology and biblical studies, so I perhaps know something of what I speak. You denigrate the work of tens of thousands of highly educated people.
---alexia on 9/15/07

evang.jerry. Ya know what comes of having the arrogance to think anybody can understand the bible and teach it? 10,000-30,000 various "christian" sects all claiming they got it right. What you personally believe is one thing. When you insist on INSTRUCTING me of that, like I am some child, that's quite another.
---alexia on 9/15/07

The Gosple can be very complicated if you go to church and listen to all the different sermons preached. (Different preachers have different ideas.)
I realized, I had to go to the Bible answer MAN. (the Holy Spirit) Im now set free. The Gosple is very easy to understand. (Its the work of the Cross and the resurrection.) Jesus came to do away with sin.
We must believe this.

The Reformation was the Devil's most successful ploy. And his most enduring. But Christ promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against His Church. Go deep into History and you will find your answer.

It is true that there are lots of false teachers out there. But, if you are sincere and ask God for guidance then you can read your Bible and He will lead you.
---djconklin on 9/14/07

That is soooo sad. :( But in a nutshell, Christianity is basically John 3:16--right there. Accepting Jesus Christ to be Lord of your life and heart, and asking Him to reveal HIMSELF to you. I will pray for you.
---Mary on 9/14/07

the question never was - who is right?

Its are you right with Him - not if there is a right church.
How many trillion people on this planet - He gave us a church to reflect our hearts. If we know Him we reflect His heart back.
He knows you whereever you are and promises to never leave you or forsake you.
Be blessed.

The Holy Ghost is my Teacher. Also has been and always will be. Seminary and all of the various schools and colleges are fine. But to have a living, breathing relationship with Christ, is the best teacher. Always will be. This is also one of the ministries of the Holy Spirit to Christians. We have all of the power we could ever need or use in this Life if we get self out of the way and yield to the Holy Spirit.
---Robyn on 9/14/07

for those that say you have to go to school to really learn anything about the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, let me interject this, who taught those that began these schools and seminaries. If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever then he can certainly teach us today through the Spirit as he did those yesterday. There is nothing wrong with schooling, but it is NOT a requirement for teaching and preaching the Holy Spirit is the ONLY requirement.
---evangelistjerry on 9/14/07

Alexia: Christians don't study alone. We pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as we read and study our bibles. Try it. You will see a difference. You must be a young Christian. Studying with a mature Christian will be valuable to you also.

Agreed you dont need degrees if your not teaching. but you are here, arent you. So it behooves each of us to not give our "personal beliefs" without saying so, and normally to give what peopled trained tell us is the best interpretation, rather than our own unschooled personal opinions.
---alexia on 9/14/07

While any small piece of text may appear easy to understand, often, context, setting, sequence of time, proposed audience, etc, have a major impact that is not apparent on what was actually meant. Thats almost impossible to do if your just reading the words by yourself.
---alexia on 9/14/07

The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ, I would avoid theological debates with unbelievers.
I want a good outline of how to share the gospel with everyone.
Unbelievers have some concept of God, cults have another and then there are all the church going non-believers (these are more difficult).
---Andrea on 9/13/07

Alexia: My friend you do not have to be versed in the bible or know theology or any of those things to be a Christian. Again you are making it harder than it is. Now if you want to be a theologian, scholar, bible teacher etc...you will need more teaching and training. But the average everyday Christian need only to know the basics of Christianity and what they need to do to maintain their salvation. We should also be witnessing as much as we can and helping those in need.

If its so simple why are you all here arguing about it? It's only simple if you want simple answers without having to use your brain excessively. Biblical exegesis is hard, requiring fluency in Hebrew and old koine greek for starters. It just gets harder after that.
---alexia on 9/13/07

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is simple.

But pop-evangelicals try to make it simplistic, which is not the same thing.
---Jack on 9/13/07

The Gospel is so simple a child can understand it. This is why it is for everyone. Man, woman, boy and girl. Man and his evil ways, ideas, bad teaching and understanding has made a mockery of God's Holy Word. There are only two things we need to do: Love God first and love others as ourselves. That sums up Christianity. Love covers everything.Simple.
---Robyn on 9/12/07

It is extremely complicated. It only appears simple to those who wish to interpret it for themselves for their own purposes. The bare outlines are simple enough, but the vast majority of folks give today's meaning to many words that simply didnt mean the same 2000 years ago. The multiple authors, multiple styles, redactions and re-editing only makes it harder.

I'm not sure if it is complicated, or if adults make it so? I've honestly never known any child or someone outside the Christian faith to understand the trinity concept even after reading bible passges and hearing bible stories. It always seems to take some extra teaching. If it were simple, wouldn't it be natural and wouldn't they automatically get it from God's word? Most of them don't understand the trinity and how to apply it to scriptures even when explained.

Andrea..many people try to complicate the gospel(good news). They want to add something else with Christ(Christ + ?)= salvation.
Adding anything else with Christ is not good news.
Jesus Christ is the good news.It is the faith we have in Christ alone and what he accomplished for us on the cross that reconciles us to God.Through this faith we are saved by the grace of almighty God.
---JIM on 9/12/07

denna - your right - the Lord gave me a vision a long time ago. There was a JW , mormon, Christian, and others all kneeling (eyes closed, heads and hearts bowed) at the foot of the cross.

No one starting arguing until they walked away.

When we first approach him we are as close as we are ever going to get until that day when we will be with Him forever. amen!

6 Believe Jesus took your punishment

2)If there is more - please note
I'd like to be as honest with people as possible but be able to give them the gospel and offer His salvation

I usually tell people that the Lord showed the Apostle Paul " all the things he would suffer" and if they take Jesus as their Savior it will be a "love worth dying for"

Corinthians 1:15" 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand, 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Do you believe it?
---Mima on 9/12/07

It is only complicated if you make that way. How complicated is John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

It is only complicate when you start teaching and forcing religion on people. (Theology)

Hi andrea, I believe to a new christian, yes it can be complicated. But as you "grow in the grace of God", by studying His word daily, the Holy Spirit reveals more to you and through the word of God you become more Christ-like. Growing in the word of God takes time, and a lot of searching the scriptures. I do not think we will understand everything this side of Heaven, but once we see Jesus face to face, then we will understand.
---Cynthia on 9/11/07

The son of God came in the flesh to earth , taught, was crucified (according to scripture) and burried. He then rose from the dead and is now alive at the right hand of God and is Lord. for the sins of the people of the world. he did all of this to save man from the death of sin and to bring us Life through Him. We now are reconciled to the Father. It's simple.
