He was a former lawyer, chosen of God to produce the most widely known reference Study Bible in the English language. He was not converted till the age of 36 after fighting alcoholism, and suffering through a failed marriage and from his life we learn that God can use any of us, no matter what our past , and that God can even use us in the later years of our life. He was born in 1843, and he died in 1921.

" I study the Scofield Bible because the scriptures line up with the word of truth in God's word." You line the SB up with what? Where is this truth? I have KJV. I surely don,t use it for study, the translation is quite inaccurate.

I'm pentecostal-most pents are premillenial dispensationalists. This part of a person's theology crosses denominations and we(my Church) are waiting for Christ's return as all churches through the ages.
It's not taught from the news paper. These are exciting times and its easy to make assumptions. I like the fact that we know the history of the Millerites, adventists, JW and see the pitfalls so that we can avoid them - yet always watching
Scofield had a theological perspective

Alexia, the truth that I am speaking of is the good news of the Gospel. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we who have recieved Him and believe Him are saved for eternity. Jesus Christ came into this world to seek and to save sinners. He paid the ransom that was demanded, His blood on the Cross of Calvary so that we can have eternal life. Since you say that you study the KJV, I would think that you would know the truth that I was speaking of.

I'm afraid I dont understand how it lines up with God's truth. What truth> where? You're comparing the scofiend bible to what? I use NJB, NRSV, RSV, KJV, mostly.

Alexia, if you do not mind may I ask you what Bible you study the word of God from? Whatever Bible you choose, I would not judge you because christians study the word of God using different Bibles. I study the Scofield Bible because the scriptures line up with the word of truth in God's word. Believe me I have compared Bibles. As I stated before God bless you Alexia.

He only was used as a vessel by God to a small group of folks. He is a great misleader to many more. And I doubt God wanted that. You discern by what appeals to you. Enjoy believing what you chose.

Alexia, I believe that anyone who believes and recieves the Lord Jesus Christ, is chosen by God. C. I. Scofield was used by God as His vessel to get the good news of the Gospel out. I study the old Scofield Reference Bible and I only use the King James version only. I respect your comment, and I appreciate your insight. God bless you Alexia!

How do you know Scofield was chosen by God? Scofield developed what has now become known as dispensationalism and premilleniumism theology, and is adored by a small number of fundamentalists, who favor his analysis.
