Many big name pastors and evangelists have fallen. In more recent itmes, Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart, now Richard Roberts. Who's next? Kenneth Copeland, John Hagee, Joel Osteen, Van Inpe ??
We are warned in Gods Word not to build our spiritual house on the sand. This is just what many people are doing today and they are going to be deceived.

Financial excess celebrity ministers view their church as private property.

They have become blinded and unable to distinguish between themselves and the TAX-EXEMPT MINISTRY THAT bears their names.
IT IS CORRUPT.

They feel entitled to the best, cars, clothes, homes, vacations and slave labor from Starstruck Celebrity Ministry members.

All of it is, TAX EXEMPT STATUS.
---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

The rationale for entitlement ministry can be found NOWHERE within Scripture.

Jesus says let the leaders have the hearts of servants, not to be lovers of money, not to love the world or the things in it, we are to set our sights and value treasures in the eternal.

We are to seek God's kingdom. If we lose our life, we'll actually find it in Jesus Christ. Though we are weak, in Jesus Christ we are made strong.
---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

It started in January 2007, but the Rich Man's Ministry is crumbling.
They will be kindling and a great upheaval is headed this way.
Mens' kingdoms will crumble overnight.

Prosperity Celebrity Ministries were a vain attempt to reach God. They brought bondage and offense to the Holy Spirit.

Mens' kingdoms will be brought to naught.
Manipulation, control, and "Don't Touch God's Wealthy" are coming down.
---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

Because all prosperity teachers are the anointed of God, you must give out of your need. It may bankrupt your account, but the prosperity preacher taking up the offering actually does prosper and amass wealth.

It's been all too easy to twist heads and Scripture that God wants these teachers rich. They actually now believe it's there time to be rewarded for all of their sacrifice. But it's the congregation that sacrifices.
---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

The Prosperity Gospel got off the ground like a private jet.

Propheteering caught on so well because it offers the profits - theological support for getting rich.

Seed faith, prosperity gospel is directly opposed to God's warnings.
Jesus said we are to store up treasures in heaven and NOT ON THIS EARTH.

---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

Charismaniac prosperity teachers love the prosperity message. They also love all of the perks that go with it.

Profits tell you that since they are your shepherd, covering, "head" - all anointing flows from the "head" down to the rest of the body.

When the profit lives in luxury, they use the warning "Don't touch God's Anointed" to prop up their little kingdoms.
The rest of the congregation is so brainwashed that they will defend this line of reasoning.
---Bigfoot on 10/22/07

To pay God for blessings is to reject his Grace paid for by his Son to free you from the curse of sacrifices that can never please God, he wants obedience to act in faith to believe his word that all blessings are yea and Amen in Christ, He wants you to be a living sacrifice laying your life down and allowing his son to live in you. Give like your Father in heaven expecting nothing in return. Everything is already yours paid for by the blood and received by faith in that promise.
---exzucuh on 10/20/07

Robyn ... When God's Son came to our world as Jesus, he did not come to a palace, or to wealth, but was born in a smelly stable.
he came here to be like us, and He came to the most humble circumstances.
---alan_of_UK on 10/19/07

Robyn:
You are confusing two aspects of the second person of the trinity.
Jesus/God and Jesus/man. It was while in His human form (while on this earth) that Jesus was poor. Please read this:
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
---Chipper on 10/19/07

Jesus was rich. His father owned everything in the world. How can our Heavenly Father bless us and give us the things we need if He is poor! God(Father) owns cattle on a thousand hills, all the silver and gold. Everything! Jesus came to fulfill a mission while He was on this Earth. He purposely came to go through the sufferings, poverty and pain that we go through. How can you identify with something or someone and have never gone through it? Jesus had what he needed when he needed it.
---Robyn on 10/19/07

Jesus was many things. He was meek and humble.Gracious, loving, kind, merciful and so on. Why do you think we address Him as Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Healer, Redeemer? He is all of these things. He is the Great I AM. Whatever you need Him to be. You fill in the blank I AM___________.
When Jesus return upon this Earth, He will be anything but meek and lowly. He will come back as a Judge and Warrior. What a great and terrible day that is going to be.
---Robyn on 10/19/07

Jesus was not rich. He was humble and lowly, meek and mild ... not flambouyant and affluent. He did not own a house.
Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Luke 9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
The animals had more than He did.

1Ti 6:6

But Godliness with contentment is Great Gain.

Vs 7
We brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can bring nothing out.

to prosper in righteousness love, mercy, meekness, gentleness, joy, peace, charity, and all other fruits is the only gain we should be striving for. But the Love of Money is evil and not what we should be striving for. If one is rich be thankful, giving and let it not be something that has your focus more than your giving.
---Carla5754 on 10/14/07

''Sell all that you have and give it to the poor''

You could look at it another way. Jesus knew that this man thought he was doing right by obeying the commandments alone he was also mean and would never share what he had with others hence he asked him to give up and give his riches to the poor, His greed for possesions is what cost him his salvation not the fact that everyone has to give everything up to the poor. Jesus being wise showed him up for how poor he had just made himself.
---Carla5754 on 10/14/07

Sell what you have and give to the poor.(message of Christ)
Prove to yourself how much faith you have.
Those who preach wealth/money as showing Godliness have no faith and dont know LOVE.

Chipper I didn't write about Hagee and whether he was good/bad I wrote specically to you. Please just consider it, you seem fairly well balanced through out the blogs till you get here. It shows that it is personal and one day you will forgive him, better for you to do it now

There is no suffering or poverty among the WOF name it and claim it, blab it and grab it crowd.

We are in a battle, a war, a fight, a wrestling match. Christianity is not all about "warm fuzzies". We need to take a stand against wrong. It's not all about huggy, kissy, I love you. Put on your armour and get into the battle.
If Hagee can stand there and scream at the top of his lungs about the things he believes in, then we should do the same for what we believe.

If Michael the archangel would not even bring a railing accusation against the accuser (satan) himself, how much more sin is it to take the side of the accuser and accuse a brother or sister...or anyone for that matter. That is what the law and the uncleansed and unrenewed conscience is for.
---Linda on 10/10/07

Chipper, my guess is you won't hear this,"you can be correct and still not be right".You seem to have a very personal thing against Hagee and it is not good for you, let it go and give it to God.
It does not glorify God to be trampling down one of His servants even if that servant is a poor servant. He stands or falls at His master's judgment.
People that give to him are responsible for their giving, your not going to change that, you can only change you.
Productive not destructive.

That TV huckster doesn't even know you exist. Just keep sending in your money though. Don't give any thought to your hurting neighbors and family around you. Most negihborhood churches have programs that help the poor and needy of the community. Give your money to them or buy them food or clothing, blankets, shoes, coats, etc. Stop this nonsense of giving to TV preachers where you can't be sure your money is going.
---Chipper on 10/9/07

You can be blessed by blessing others but we need to know when to give and when not to. All preachers, teachers etc,,,are not of God. WE have to be careful where we put our money and into what type soil(goodvs bad ministries), so to speak. But it is a blessing to give.We may not receive anything back from the person we give to but God will repay us for all that we do in Jesus'name.Jesus spent all of His life on earth doing good. We as Christians should do the same.
---Robyn on 10/9/07

To find a work of God and be able to just give your $$$ is a blessing. If you can also be a part of it its a double blessing.

To give to God so that you will become rich is questionable at best but He does reward and its not the message that is wrong it is the messengers that are abusing it

You don't take money that was given to help the poor and needy and spread the true gospel and then use it for your own material things like expensive clothes, fancy cars, jets, huge homes with swimming pools and tennis courts. How can they in good conscience do this while there are homeless, hurting, starving people out there???
Stop sending yur money to these charlatans and hucksters.... and flat-out liars.

Churches today need to take a good hard look at the "first church" as recorded in the book of Acts. I can assure you that none of these shenannigans were going on in that church.
If Jesus were here among us today in the flesh, I'm sure he would not be very pleased with what he would see.
People getting rich off of the word of God !!! this is terrible!
---Chipper on 10/9/07

Prosperity can mean beyond cars and big homes and fat bank accounts. we who are in the will and saved are a prosperous people period. many leaders use this to the point of sensationalism. test the spirit by the spirit. your inner man can answer much for you.
---amelia on 10/9/07

BoycotTBN, Nope, the prosperity is not about tricking to give to the church... but to rogue, para-church organizations. Men with self-promoting agendas usually are the ones waving the prosperity flag. If it really worked as they said it does... they would outgive everyone... don't see that happening - so many keeping the riches they've taken from the poor and foolish.

To give to a good church is wise... it's just finding one.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. That his soul prospered, The greatest blessing on this side of heaven. [3 John 2].>>>>"To Bless" Meant to fill with benefits, either as an end in itself or to make the object blessed a source of further blessing for others. God is most often at least the understood agent of blessing in this sense. When God blesses>He Makes happy, helps, favours. Seek God's favours.
---catherine on 10/7/07

No, the prosperity gospel is twisted to trick the Christian into believing that if you give money to the church, God will reward you by blessing you in return. How many people have given their last dime to these false ministries, only to end up on the street.
---BoycottTBN on 10/7/07

This is what the word says about "prosperity":

And God is able to make all grace abound, that you having sufficiency in every thing may abound unto every good work. Prosperity is sufficiency (having what you NEED) and abundance for every good work. The overflow is not for materialism. It is for every good work. I choose to rename what people call the "prosperity gospel" and call it the "giving gospel".

And when I say "giving gospel", I am not meaning "give ME, give ME, give ME". I am meaning "give YOU, give YOU, give YOU." On the other hand, I think I will just call it all the gospel. That's what Jesus called it. He made no distinction between the spirit part, the soul part, the body part, the social part, or the financial part. It is all inclusive for every realm of man.
---Linda on 10/7/07

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor,

Many are getting super rich off of the gospel, and they wouldn't give you a dime for a cup of coffee... or today, $1.00
---Chipper on 10/7/07

Those who preach the Prosperity Gospel take bits and pieces from the Bible to promote materialism. It's not wrong to become prosperous but the focus is to be on Jesus Christ "and all will be added unto us" (paraphrase). God says he'll take care of all our needs, not all our wants which can be endless and be an idolatry in and of itself.
---Ginette on 10/7/07

Like I said, Rob, if you already have your conviction regarding prosperity, then there is no need for anyone to come forward and explain anything to you.

1 Peter 3:15 says to be ready to give an answer for the HOPE that is within you. The hope within each of us is Christ. I can give an answer for that and am ready and willing to if asked. However, that is not what you are asking for.

Linda, you are incorrect in saying it is unBiblical for me to wait and hope for asnwers reagerding the Prosperity Gospel. Please read 1 Peter 3:15.

There was a time when I was taken in by the Proseprity Gospel, which happened without me realizing it. This is an example of how Subtle Satan is.

I can't blame anyone but myself because I believed everything I heard people say and everything I saw. Yet I never took the time to examine the Scriptures to see if these things were indeed true.
---Rob on 10/6/07

If we are so opposed to being prosperous why is it we continue to have and buy stuff. Why don't we give all of it away and not have houses, cars, more than one outfit to wear and tv's and computers, all the rest. How foolish to say that God does not want us to prosper. As we prosper so does His Word.
---marge on 10/5/07

We are the heirs of all God has if we are sons of God. Gal 4:7 says we are no longer slaves but sons, and if sons then heirs of God and if He owns it all then so do we if we inherit it all. We are so focused on telling ourselves and others that we should not be prosperous that we miss the point that God wants to give us everything, and in getting everything we do not lose out or do not become less in love with Him.

Interesting that when I first sign on to this site that there is a place to find out how I can make more money. And this is on ChristiaNet. Links to make money at home, to increase finances, to have home based business. Does this make any sense to you? We are so religious about money but are all trying to make more, why don't we just use it wiser and give more. We could actually have more to give to our churches, tithing, offerings, missions. Maybe that is what God wants us to do with it.

A salesman uses a gimmick to get you in the door. I think that many use the Prosperity Gospel to lure materialist-minded people to the church. This is dishonest.
When one walks with God, one soon realizes that man's "treasures" are WAY different than what God wants for us. God prospers his people, but not necessarily with material wealth!

Rob, you sound like you are really hoping for an argument or, at the very least, an opportunity to tell everybody how right you are. The people I truly admire are the ones who refuse to give the devil a place because they are not ignorant of his devices. What you are hoping for will come to no good thing. You have made your stand clear. No argument is needed unless you are looking for man's approval of your stand. You study to show thyself approved unto God, not to show others disapproved.

On a further note, Rob, what you are waiting and hoping for is not even Biblical. We hope for His appearing and do eagerly wait for the precious fruit of the earth. If you consider yourself so Biblical, then I would think at least your waiting and hoping would be centered on Christ coming forth instead of someone to argue with or against. Hiding your intention under the fig leaf of requiring an explanation is unnecessary.

I am still waiting and hoping someone who is of the WORD of FAITH, NAME IT-CLAIM IT, and PROSPERITY GOSPEL MOVEMENTS, will come along and explain to me why the GOSPEL, is different from the GOSPEL which the Apostes preached, and is also different from the GOSPEL which is written in the BIBLE. 2 Corinthians Chapter Eleven.
---Rob on 10/4/07

I'm seeing how important it is to hold Jesus Christ up as the model, the ideal for ministry, prayer and a personal relationship with God.
If the ministry of Jesus did not promote the prosperity gospel, neither should we dip our feet into that pool. Jesus told us to repent and follow Him. He didn't tell the disciples to stay at home, become greater businessmen and send their money in. He said, Follow Me. That's what I'm going to do.
---Michelle on 10/2/07

The doctrine of Jesus is the Good News or Gospel. Believe & Repent ALL of Jesus'teachings were regarding removing self from worldly lusts and obeying the Father through the Spirit. Our purpose is to Bring glory to God not to BE YE HAPPY:) We are fortunate if we share in the sufferings of Christ and are even to expect it since the world did not accept Him,neither should they accept us. Could the answer be because of what is written in 2 Timothy 4:2-4?

Could it be because they do not know what the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS?

Why is it they won't answer these questions with SCRIPTURE, IN THE TRUE CONTEXT THEY ARE WRITTEN?

Abuse of scripture doesn't negate scripture. People preaching love to get your money doesn't negate love.

Where the gospel is preached there is economic recovery.
Look at Europe,USA,Japan,China,S.Korea,Africa(see specifically where the gospel is the strongest). Then look at where the gospel is rejected--N.korea, Islamic countries.Turkey is one of the more prosperous and they had a strong Christian base(early church). Be careful when you see a few greedy people, they may just be selling the truth.

No it is Christian Science with more references to Scripture. It is a violation of the first commandment and makes man the center of all things. They use the same Bible verses to justify their teaching as the Mormons and Witnesses. No it is not. 1)Jesus said if we seek first the kingdom of God then all these things should be ADDED to us. 2) Lay up for yourselves riches IN HEAVEN and not on the Earth. For where your treasures are, there will your heart be also. 3)Name it & Claim it puts God as our servant which could not be any farther from the truth: we are His servants, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. 4)NI & CI also puts the flesh first, but in the flesh dwells NO GOOD thing. We MUST decrease and HE must increase.

When scriptures are taken out of context and misinterpreted, yes so it seems. However, Jesus taught that we are not on this earth to live a great quality of life. It is not our purpose. Our purpose is to Glorify God, Obey the leading of the Holy Spirit, seek after righteousness, truth,Knowledge, wisdom, bear fruit, Love God and others and to keep ourselves uncontaminated from the lusts of this world. That does not sound like material prosperity.:)

You know what, some of you people are something else. It is not holy to be poor. It is not unholy either. I want what God wants me to have. Not more and not less. God is rich. He owns everything, we own nothing. We, God's people, are stewards. We are to take care of what He gives us. If the people of Satan can have something what is so all fire wrong with God's people having money yes, a nice home why not, a nice car why not. God bless whom He wants to.He blesses the saved and the unsaved. The unsaved are bless because they follow certain priniciples. Christians can be blessed if we follow certain principles. We reap what we sow. Christians are likened unto farmers. If we sow into good ground, we will reap a huge harvest. The harvest could be food, clothing, land, money, anything. We must understand these priniciples to prosper in our way. Christians do not have to be poor.

Of course it goes without saying - I mean if you really read the Bible you wouldn't ask this. Read John 10:10, 3rd John 1:2 etc. Jesus came for the total person - prosperity of the human spirit, soul and body. He is not a lopsided God many religious people take Him to be. He became poor so that you might become rich (2 Cor. 8:9). His purpose is to make you prosperous in every way so that you might do great works (2 Cor. 9:8).

Many Prosperity and Name It-Claim It teachers will tell you that you need to send them money if you want to receive, a miracle, a blessing, or healing from God. Many people do not know this is in direct contradiction of what is written in Acts 8:20-24.

Also these teachers will tell you that sowing seed is giving your money, but scripture teaches that sowing seed is sharing God's Word, Mark 4:13-20.
