Ever Made Fun Of Someone

Scripture from Proverbs 17:5 "Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished" Have you ever laughed when someone had trouble or fell down? Ever made fun of the poor?

I must reneg on my earlier statement that I never made fun of anyone. I do laugh at Nancy Pelosi when she tries to walk so proper and talk so softly. The most fake person I ever saw. Well, almost.
---shira3877 on 9/26/11

Mark V, yes I agree. I did laugh about Bill Clinton and still do almost every time I hear him talk. It is quite comical. My point is that I find it hard to believe when people say they have never made fun of anyone ever.
---Jed on 9/26/11

It is not righteous or good to make fun of anyone at anytime. But some things are comical. Hopefully we learn to laugh at the laughable things and be sympathetic, when needed. I try to never laugh at the sick, disabled, impoverished and other ills in this world. These things are never funny and easy to live with. Lets keep comedy in its place. Not at the expense of others.
Also showing compassion, symphathy and empathy for others expresses good home training(breeding) and goodwill among our fellow men(women).
---Robyn on 9/24/11

Jed, you are right, I admit I have done some of those things myself. When I did, I didn't even think about God hearing me until much later. But never have I made fun of anyone poor, or disabled or even someone who falls down, if possible I will run to help them, and ask them if they are ok, it's happened a few times in my life. We do laugh at many other things that happen around us, that we feel is funny. So I do confess I have made fun while talking to my wife about Clinton. Only when he said, he never had sexual relations with anyone. That did make me laugh because I had heard already what had happened. Don't you think hearing that was funny? I'm sorry but I did and so did my wife.
---Mark_V. on 9/25/11

I was taught at an early age not to ever make fun of anyone. No, I have never made fun of anyone.
---shira3877 on 9/25/11

Wow, you guys have never made fun of anyone ever? Not even normal people without disabilities that you just don't agree with? Like a president or politician you didn't like? You never mocked people who do stupid things like Anthony Weiner, Tiger Woods, or Bill Clinton? Wow, good for you.
---Jed on 9/24/11

"Have you ever laughed when someone had trouble or fell down?
Ever made fun of the poor?"

Giving all praises to the Father, I can honestly say no to both questions. There is nothing funny about being poor, having troubles, or falling.
One would have to be totally void of both compassion and understanding to "make fun" of the poor, or "laugh" at the troubles of another.
It would also show a complete lack of love.
"This is how we know who the children of God are, and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother." 1Jo 3:10 (NIV)
---Josef on 9/20/11

NO, I have never made fun of anyone. I can get real mean if I sees anyone making fun of another, especially the disadvantaged or mentally challenged. My sister and me laugh at each others calamities. I have even laughed at myself. If we would all look in the mirror, we would never laugh at anyone else.

Rosa Parks and African-Americans stood up against racial segregation in a bus. I'll speak against the injustices of a deaf person being punched across the skull, hearing aids grabbed off and thrown out in bus, and then the deaf person has to pay a $17,000 bill for new hearing aids.

Originally I wrote, "I'm certain that the hearing people who mock the deaf in this life, and do not repent, will have to wear hearing aids in hell too."

Emotions ran very high when I read the story of this outrageous oppression done against the poor.

I'll adjust. "I'm positive that the oppressive people who mock the blind and deaf in this life, and repent of their impious life, will enjoy heaven too."
---Deaf_person on 9/15/11

Deaf Person seem to be full of glee that these people will see some sort of "hell" for their hate

yet you have hate for wanting these people to see this "hell"

Christ said to repay evil with love

did it ever occur to you that MAJORITY of "bullies" are bullied at home by their parents who beat them and emotionally tear them down with hateful words their whole lives??? these bullies act on their aggressions GIVEN to them by their parents

we live in the end times where the love of MANY waxes COLD ...rather than have YOUR love wax cold wish these poor in spirit people love and move on in life ...bitterness can make your own heart grow cold over time

MONESSEN, Pa. -- A mother in Monessen told Channel 4 Action News' Sheldon Ingram that her son was bullied so badly that other kids took his hearing aids and threw them out a school bus window.
"They were taken out of his ears and thrown out the window," said Carla Brown, of what happened to her son, Hunter.

Brown said the bullying of her son, who is legally deaf, is a continuation of abuse that happened last school year.

She showed Ingram the $17,000 bill she received for new hearing aids for her son.

Hunter told Ingram what one classmate did to his hearing aids after they were taken from him.
---Deaf_person on 9/12/11

Part 2

''He threw them on the ground and stepped on. He threw them right in the garbage, and I couldn't get them out because there were ants on them,'' said Hunter.

Hunter said he was also hit several times and ''punched across the skull.''

Should a blind person enter into a bus, and have their walking cane stick thrown out the bus windows?
Should a deaf person enter a bus, and have their hearing aids grabbed off and thrown out the windows?
Should a paralyzed person enter a bus, and the bullies throw their wheelchairs out the bus windows?
Should a cancer patient enter into a bus, and have their wig thrown out?
Should a person with a prosthetic arm or leg enter a bus, and it gets thrown out the windows?

I've been hard of hearing all of my life and people make fun of me ... huh? Huh? Does it bother me? No. I work near a couple of homeless shelters. I love these people! I've been homeless so I understand. You have no idea what happens in a person's life to have him lose it all.
---Nellah on 9/10/11

I'm certain that the hearing people who mock the deaf in this life, and do not repent, will have to wear hearing aids in hell too.

Or scream and cry with no one to hear them.
But, who are the most truly deaf and blind? Those that doing those things.
Isaiah 29:18
And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
Isaiah 42:18
Hear, ye deaf, and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

No Deaf_Person, they will just cry out and not be heard.
A sad irony for not heeding to the voice of the Lord in this life.
Zec 7:9-11,13 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor, and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear...Therefore it is come to pass, [that] as he cried, and they would not hear, so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
---micha9344 on 9/8/11

Just recently, bullies grabbed both of the deaf person's hearing aids and threw it out the school bus windows.

People tend to mock the deaf and hearing aid users.

A deaf person myself, classmates approached me often, "Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Ha ha ha!"

The Bible says in Leviticus 19:14, "Thou shalt not curse the Deaf."

I'm certain that the hearing people who mock the deaf in this life, and do not repent, will have to wear hearing aids in hell too.
---Deaf_person on 9/8/11

Whenever a bad situation happens, I get upset that IT HAPPENED, I don't care WHO DID IT. I likely will also be "UPSET" with the person ALSO, but I don't "let the sun go down" and continue my anger at them.

Matthew 5:22
"every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment"...also "whoever says, 'You fool!' (mocks, making fun of) shall be liable to the hell of fire".

A more accurate understanding of what Jesus did is "PURIFICATION" (in Hebrews), meaning Jesus only "forgave" ritualistic 'COMMANDMENT sin' (not "wrongdoing").

God is the AVENGER. Take great care how you treat The Lord's offspring....Hebrews 10:30 "I WILL REPAY".

Hi Donna :) I'm like you--I like being kidded in good fun. :) My husband sure doesn't a lot of the times, he's very sensitive and blames it on being a Taurus lol! :D I tell him the zodiac has nothing to do with his personality! :D

Oh,sure. And at myself, too. I like to tease people, but not in a way that's hurtful (I hope). I was the youngest in the family...enjoy being makes me feel at home and I take it as a compliment. (It's almost impossible to kid people in writing, tho)
I don't make fun of the poor, never about peoples looks or dress (at least not since junior high... and as a adult, I've kicked myself around the block for the few times I did).
I sometimes laugh at those whose pretense and pomposity seem obvious.

Falling down? Not unless they laugh first and aren't hurt.
---Donna66 on 7/19/11

my conscience cannot afford to laugh at the misfortune of other people-this is rudeness if you rejoice with the mishap of others.

The Lord recently had me leave the church that I attended. There was this poor, little elderly woman who has gone to that church most of her life. Well, she didn't have the stylish clothes or a fine home, but she IS one of God's children. Well, the pastor's mother and some others went to her and told her that she had to do something about her body odor!! They even sprayed Lysol on her!!! This happened many years before I started that church, but she recently told me about it. Cont>
---Angela on 10/16/07

>Cont...She told of other things that was appalling by some of these people. I was so hurt for her. When I told her the Lord was leading me somewhere else, she just about cried. She said she was going to pray until God sent me back there. She said I was the only one after years of her attendence there that spoke to her everytime. God bless her!!

no that is really degrading yourself. we never had a a lot of money but you know money doesnt make happiness... love does so that is what we had.
---irene7395 on 9/29/07

No I haven't. I have watched people growing up looking down at my family cause we didn't have a whole lot of money. We didn't care if we weren't rich, we had God and Love. But those people made shrubbed their noses at us and people like us and now, some hit rock bottom, and some of them, their health is failing. It ain't no lie, You'll reap what you sow.
---Rebecca_D on 9/24/07

Even before I was saved and only a teenager, I heard this family making fun of the poor and I wanted to smack them upside down. I used to go around (as a little girl) and give the homeless quarters. How can someone make fun of the poor never knowing if they can be poor someday? Amen?

I do not make fun of the poor, as when you see someone down and out you dont know who or what they are, maybe 'angels unaware.'

I only make fun of politicians, DMV employees and televangelist, who very often scream out to be made fun of.
---MikeM on 9/23/07

Yes I have before I met Jesus and He changed everything. I am not proud of it , but I am forgiven for it. I have been made fun of as well, so I know how it feels. Now since my salvation, I have Godly compassion, not only for the lost, but for others as well and instead of laughing, or making fun of them, I offer to help them. And by the guidance of the Holy Spirit witness to them also about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
---Cynthia on 9/22/07

Once when I was 16 I picked up this little tiny girl and set her in a trash can - the whole crew laughed and laughed. She was killed two years later and I never said I was sorry.
I'm very sensitive to people ridiculing others and have no trouble defending someone in public. Especially if a boss humiliates an employee - I don't give my business to animals.
But I remember that I have not always been any better then they

There but by the grace of God go I
---Andrea on 9/22/07

I haven't made fun of the poor, but before I found My Lord, I admit I laughed at ppl for felling down after I made sure they were ok, and I may have laughed at those that got into trouble mostly when I did those things they were at family members not strangers.
