Apostasy is turning away from truth towards error.
Heresy is teaching of error.

Apostasy often leads to heresy.
---StrongAxe on 5/21/08

Not sure and too lazy to look it up in the dictionary, alan of uk sounds are in apostasy, you speak heresy.
---Todd1 on 5/21/08

Apostasy is a state?
Heresy is a statement?

Luther fought a system of corruption that called itself the Church. It was a murderous cult - selling indugences and the word of God for profit.

Scandalous and still continues in one scandal after another

Luther was a man with the heart to follow God and not the traditions of men.

He would not be bought and he suffered at the hands of the popes

millions died (tortured, burned alive, torn asunder) unspeakable and ungodly bc of the RCC you should not be so quick to defend them.

Andrea:: Luther was trapped betwen two uncomfortable situations One losing His Head Or serving His God.He chose the former RESULT "he who saves his life loses it"He was not God & wrote many things to save his skin.this is one of then that you write How abouT."A sinner should seek the truth live by the truth & deny His Pride, or else He aligns himself with Satan & damns himself" I ain't Luther but still do not soft soap words.
---Emcee on 9/29/07

Luther wrote 500 yrs ago:
If you are proud toward the sinner and despise him, you are utterly damned.

No willful sin will enter heaven, period.
---Mr._Graham on 9/28/07

Eloy - it is unbiblical to believe you are the only one in heaven

1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

we enter heaven bc of His work - His work cleanses us - if we didn't sin we'd only need that once, but all sin - all fall short.

PS - when I first got saved, I didn't repent first. I repented after I got saved.
---Andrea on 9/26/07

.andrea, you speak falsehood and the false doctrine of "misjudge saints as sinners". And since I am a born-again Christian I am not able to receive your falsehood.
---Eloy on 9/25/07

.andrea, you are so wrong. No sinner can enter heaven. Only the repentant are saved, and not the sinners. The formulae, as you say, is this: Repent, else you have no salvation.
---Eloy on 9/25/07

Andrea:: Jesus's blood does not need to be contaminated By Filthy sin.His pure blood is a preservative"He who eats my body & drinks my Blood I live in Him & he in Me"This only Happens, when you say from the bottom of your Heart "Dear lord I am Sorry For having offended You,Please remove my SIN & renew my soul"I know I will be shouted down because it is a christian belief .But reflect on what I said.God abhors sin.
---Emcee on 9/24/07

Many a righteous person was burnt at the stake for being a heretic.

Eloy- we are washed in His blood - that is what removes your sin. If you think it is bc you have the right formula then you are mistaken. Now I know you love the Lord but we are all sinners - all sinners. If we say we are not we are then liars.

by His grace

and sometimes by the skin of our teeth
---Andrea on 9/24/07

Andrea, it is incorrect to believe that real heretics will go to heaven, for when you are following a lie, then you no longer are following the truth. For example, If I heretically say: "Works are vain and unnecessary, you do not have to 'do nothing' and do 'no works' for salvation, because salvation is by grace only, and all will go to heaven because God is only love", then this blind one that leads the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
---Eloy on 9/24/07

Andrea, heresy and sin cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven, but truth and righteousness.
---Eloy on 9/24/07

Apostasy>>>Act of rebelling against, Forsaking, Abandoning, Or Falling away from what one has believed. A Defection or withdrawal. Paul is accused of teaching the Jews "To forsake Moses".>>>Heresy> Opinion of doctrine not in line with the accepted teaching of a church. Also Sect that leads to divisions. Christianity is called Heresy in Acts: 24:14, 28,22. Also, A departure from sound doctrine. 2 Peters 2:11.

Apostasy is intentional
heresy is when your mistaken

It is possible for a heretic to go to heaven not for an apostate

Apo= off + stasy= a standing, thus, a standing off. It is deserting the Lord and the true way and substituting this for falsehood and heresy. The church is already greatly doing this. For the definition of apostasy in scripture, please read Isaiah 5:20+ Jeremiah 2:13,19-25+ II Thessalonians 2:3+ II Timothy 3:5+ Revelation 2:4,5.
---Eloy on 9/23/07

Heresy is teachings of error, false doctrines, and exaggerated or twisted beliefs contrary to the Holy Scripture. Some major heresies are: love gospel, faith-only, do nothing, no works, Jews are the chosen, sin supporters, identical faiths, diety dissing, polytheism, leaven binding, synonymous Bibles, once saved always saved, For the definition of heresy in scripture, please read II Timothy 4:3,4, II Peter 2:1-3,14-22.
---Eloy on 9/23/07

Apostasy = abandonment of previous loyalty.
Heresy = denial of revealed truth.
---robin8683 on 9/23/07

Herecy is when you speak or teach a false doctrine, say the Assumption of the BVM. No basis in scripture and man macde.
Apostasy is when a Christian turns his back on Christ, and leaves the faith all together.
You have to be a Christian to apostasise, you don't have to be a Christian to be in herecy.
