What is the "plain as the nose on your face evidence" of evolution?

If it were so obvious, why did it take man thousands of years to come up with the idea which continues to be debated?

Don't scientists still refer to evolution as a theory?

Have you seen any transitional specimens lately? (Fuzzy pictures of bigfoot don't count.)

The only thing that is plain to see is Natural Selection, which is not the same as but often confused with Evolution.

Whenever sin and death are discussed together, it is not exclusively referring to spiritual death. Adam died in the spirit and in the flesh.
(Adam lived hundreds of years longer, but he died.)

Before the fall, man & animals could have eaten manna from heaven.
The bible doesn't say, but even if they ate plants the plants didn't necessarily die. (Grass doesn't die when animals graze. Orange trees don't die when you eat an orange.)

whisper you have no proof of your statement. Accepting the obvious plain as the nose of your face evidence for evolution doesnt make you anti god, anti jesus, anti bible ...It just makes you anti dumb sounding.

RitaH ... The words I used are not exactly as the KJV puts them, so you may have been confused.
I am sure you have heard of the time Satan tempted Jesus?
If you need to refresh your memory, try Matthew 4 and Luke 4.

Whenever sin and death are discussed together, "death" means "spiritual death".

God told Adam that the day he eats from the fruit, he would surely die - yet he lived hundreds of years longer.

Jesus said that whoever believed in him would never die. If that were LITERALLY true than ALL Christians who EVER LIVED were false believers (since they are not still alive).

Without physical death, what did animals eat before the fall? Even vegetarians kill plants.

Alan, I am not sure where that verse is. Would you give me the text please?

RitaH ... Satan took Jesus up into a high place and showed Him the rulers of all the nations on the earth.
Some high place to be able to see round the curvature of the earth and over the Appenines to see Rome, let alone over the Alps to see France, then England and Boadicea, or the Aztecs of the southern hemisphere!
We know what the Bible means by that story, but literal it isn't

It is degrading Gods image to a mere beast. Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 5:1-2, James 3:9, Genesis 9:6
To argue that the Christian can accept the evolution belief on grounds that the Bible is not to be taken literally, is a surrender to the foes of God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Bible and all Christian teachings. The theory therefore is anti God, anti Christ, anti Bible anti Christian and Ant intelligence.

most christians believe in evolution for the simple reason that it makes you look too stupid not to. The only people who don,t are folks who psychologically need certainty in an uncertain world. When you realize that, you can stop living with a split brain. That must be so uncomfortable, always having to compartmentalize what science is okay. Aren't you glad that the bible doent contain some counter theory for electricity? You'd be really back in the caves then wouldnt ya?

Tom 2, you are absolutely correct. In addition I'd say that I cannot understand why ANY Christian believes in evolution. The only parts of the bible that I believe are not meant to be taken literally are those where we are shown that they ARE NOT literal e.g. the parables.

I will not discuss this as the fundamentalist, time and time again, always bail on it, resorting to rhetoric over reality.Credibiluty is thus a non-issue.
---MikeM on 9/28/07

to put it mildly, evolution is a reasoning minds answer to questions that they have no answer for.yes the world is constantly changing, and species dying off,but they don,t they can mutate ,but this never changes genetic other words, a frog is a frog, a bird is a bird ,etc and always have been and always will be.
---tom2 on 9/27/07

and God said ,be feruitful and multiply. not be fruitful and evolve.God made monkeys cause he wanted monkeys,

How do CHRISTIANS explain Rom 5:12, "through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin"?

If sin began with Adam and because of his sin DEATH came into the world, then nothing could have DIED before Adam existed.

To me this is an either/or concept. I don't see how Evolution and Creation can mix for anyone who believes the bible is inspired text.

Because alot of people believe if it isn't tangable, it isn't real. If they can't see, feel, touch, smell, it isn't real. They do not have faith in Christ Jesus. They believe in sciencetists more than they do God.

My personal opinion is that we Christians dont know what it is we believe let alone why we believe it. Im not saying that we all should be theologians, but we should be able to give to every man a reason for the hope that is in you (I Pet 3:15). We are good at regurgitating what we hear from the pulpit, but as far as diligent study on our own, be it the Bible or evolution, we are lacking to put it mildly. For the record, I do not believe in evolution and I can give plenty of reasons why.

I do not understand how God created the world. But I choose to believe creation(by God's Word) rather than the(unproven) theory of evolution.
