Will we be resurrected in glorified bodies or in our physical bodies? How was Jesus resurrected from the grave? In a glorified body or a physical body that had to be changed to a glorified body?

Mima, how about our mortal soul putting on immortality.
---Ryan_Z on 10/5/07

I agree with Rebecca D.'s answer. My reason for agreeing because the Bible clearly says that we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye. Changed from what to what? Changed I believe from our normal physical body(like the one we die with) to a glorified body like the one Jesus had after his resurrection when he visited the apostles in the upper room.

II Corinthians 5 tells us our new bodies are from heaven. Christ told us, "In My Fathers house are many houses." I Corinthians 15 tells us we do not sow a body but a grain or a seed that will be placed in our new bodies from heaven.

Man will be resurrected with a physical, tangible, incorruptible body, as one not subject to illness, disease or age, yet still subject to death. Although death will not have any authoritative right to exert itself, destruction of that body will remain possible. Jesus was raised with the same body of His death, simply rejuvenated and changed from mortal (as subject to death) to immortal, from finite to infinite. However only the overcomer receives immortality in the first resurrection. Cont.

Pt.2 As I was writing this response I pondered how this resurrection will occur. Is it actually the body or the soul that will be raised? This came to mind. "The body is raised and the soul is restored." The way that I understand this, the Father knows the DNA structuring and thought patterns of every person who has ever lived and everyone that has ever lived, lives on in His mind, plan and purpose. At His return He mentally brings with Him the structure and pattern of every human being. Cont.

Pt.3 As it is written "even the hairs on our heads are numbered" Why? That we may be renewed, revitalized, restructured and restored makes sense to me. As I thought on these things I was referred to Eze.37:1-14 for an explanation of how it will happen. Although I had always seen these verses in a spiritual sense. I have been enlightened to see that they can also be applied in a natural sense as well, for nothing is to hard, and certainly not impossible for God.

We will not have our glorified bodies until we go to heaven. I believe that Jesus was in his human body, because he told Mary to touch him not because he hasn't ascended to his Father yet.

If you will read through 1 Corinthians 15:35-50 Paul teaches about our resurrected bodies.

I also believe Jesus was in His physical body. Jesus told Thomas in John 20:27a Then He said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands, and reach here your hand and put it into My side,... He also told Mary in John 20:17a Jesus said to her, "Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father,...

Jesus was in his Glorified Body from the tomb.
Fresh and new again. Mary Mag didn't even recognize Him at first.
As we will be after the second coming.

Mima, Jesus said on the cross, "Father, into thy hands I command My Spirit." Jesus gave up His Spirit. So Jesus's spirit left his body and ascended into Paradise. "Today you shall be with me in Paradise." Three days later Jesus's body rose from the grave when His Spirit was rejoined with His body, thus the resurrection of the dead. That's exactly how it's going to happen for Christians, true believers in Christ Jesus.
