Praise the Lord for this interest in the Word. I suggest either the book of John, or Romans.

Start in Romans it covers EVERYTHING
all have sinned, righteousness of God, how God is just and justifies the ungodly, God sovereignty in salvaton, etc. etc.
and mans free will has nothing to do with salvation But God that shows mercy
If you get past Rm9 I'd like to hear from you REALLY
sincerely steven

I suggest the 3 "T's" of the N.T. Smaller books in size allowing pauses yet very strong in God's word and Church order. I hope someone has a Strong's Concordance... May God bless you all and remove the scales blinding eyes that want to see.

It is in my own home - I am having a few neighbors over (they've been studying with the JWs) and I wanted a good place to start. They are coming Monday - but agreed to go to a christian church with me Sunday.

Its neat bc I've been praying for this one amn for a few years and he went and got saved- then the JWs got to him, but he showed up on my doorstep wanting to see my new roosters. One thing lead to another but I wanted to get him over quickly before the JWs scare him off. Pray please.

Do you mean where in the bible do you start? Or you need a specific place to start one? If you mean a place. Why not start at your home, a friend's or relatives home. If you mean where in the bible. Probably the Gos pel of John.St John ch 3. The Gospels are full of parables and are relatively easy to grasp for mature and new Christians alike.

Andrea, why not have it at your own home if you can do it there. Or maybe somebody else's house. Ask the Lord to show you.

I depend on what type of Bible study you wish to have. You can study books of the Bible, or various types of topical and linguistic word studies in original languages.

You should only use modern translation, and have access to high quality modern commentaries, bible dictionaries, biblical and current maps, histories applicable to time period, cultural references applicable to people and location and translation aids if working with original language texts.

Hebrews 6. Especially the part about pressing on to maturity.

If it is at a church some have a meeting hall to be in or if it is at your home, then maybe pick a room that has no distractions. Or you can have it in a park at a picnic area or something.
